This report is dedicated to all who have never been to Buenos Aires, in the hope that this will help them to participate in the beauty of the people and the city with full enjoyment and a minimum of fuss.

General Information

According to the immortal words of Hacker, if a Buenos Aires girl is born ugly, she has 6 months to get beautiful. After that, she is sent back for major repair. There really is an abundance of beautiful, available women in that town. After years of being tied to the Dollar, the Peso is now being allowed to float, and has pretty much stabilized. The current exchange rate can be found here. Prices in the restaurants, stores, small shops and clubs are all still in Pesos, and the prices for these items have increased a little, but not much.

Getting Around, Language, and Girl Watching

The city has a good metro system, and taxis are reasonable. Give the taxi driver an intersection of two streets you want to go to, or a street and an address. He will get you there very easily. It is always easier if you know the language of the country, but even with very limited Spanish, you will still have a great time with a beautiful lady.

The best time for girl watching during the day is Monday-Friday from late morning to mid afternoon. The working girls are finally waking up, and combined with the good looking non-pros and semi-pros, it is a sight to behold. Start from the Galleria Pacifico, a three story shopping mall a block West of San Martin on Cordoba. Just walk along Florida St, or along Avenue de Julio, and you will see. There are a lot of tourist shops along the way on Florida St., but the female scenery is very easy on the eyes. Be careful of the pick pockets in that area. They are very fast, and if you look like a tourist, you will be a target.Stay away from the demonstration areas, and use normal traveling precautions that you would anywhere else and you will have a great time.

The absolute worst times are during Saturdays, Sundays, major holidays, and during Christmas and New Years. Most businesses close during the weekends and holidays, and the town slows down during Christmas and New Year's. Everybody seems to clear out to be with their families for the holidays. Night life is good anytime, but slower during Christmas and New Year's.

With Escorts-Argentina, you are dealing with the girl directly, and what you see in the photos is who will show up at your door. With Platynum, about 99% of the girls have managers, who answer the phone, write the emails, and make the arrangements for meeting you. When you call, you may be talking with the manager, and when you write, you may be writing with the manager. There are a lot of beautiful girls on this website, and they are all available, but most all of them operate from small brothels, usually about 3-5 girls at a time are working. The nice part about this is that you can met someone nice, and then make arrangements to meet at a later time. The prices vary considerably between the girls, so negotiate first. Always have a backup plan, as these girls from Platynum switch names, photos, and phone numbers all the time, and who shows up at your door or at her door, may not be the one on the website that your were looking at. You either go to their place or they come to you. Supply and demand dictates the prices and times, so if you two develop a good rapport, maybe the time will be longer, or the next time more will be included. If you put your name on Platynum's or Escorts-Argentina's mailing list, you will be notified when new girls are added, or any changes such as photos or phone numbers. Many of the girls post their pictures five or six time on other websites and even multiple times on one website under different names as well. This is a love hotel. For about $40 for two hours, you get a mirrored room, clean facilities, porno flicks on the TV, and a friendly manager. A nice place if you don't want to bring the girl back to the hotel where you are staying.

Cafes

Hungry? Stop by the Orleans Café. Located at the corner of Cordoba and San Martin, it is a normal café with food and drink, but it has the distinction of allowing many of the working girls to sit and wait for clients. The cafe and the girls cater to the business crowd, so it is best between Monday and Thursday in the afternoons, and very late at night, around midnight to about 2:00 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays are usually dead, but you may get lucky.

If you do not want to take her home with you, the Hotel Horizonte is right around the corner. The rate is 40-50 Pesos for 2 hours, and is very nice and clean with free drinks (sodas), along with mirrored walls and porno flicks, and some with hot tubs. Another cafe of the same nature is Exedra. The address is 999 Cordoba, at the corner of Cordoba and Carlos Pellegrini, which runs parallel to Ave 9 De Julio. See the map for exact location.

The girls do not usually show up in Exedra until after until after 3:00 p.m., and it gets better towards the evening and sometimes into the wee hours on the weekends. inue the journey. When you get into the taxi, he will drive a short distance, and then rob you. If your taxi breaks down, get out and get a new one. Do not use his amigo's taxi. Other taxi scams are springing up all the time. A good method is to use Radio Taxis and to let them see you jot down the license number of the taxi before you get in.

You will find a few girls working in the other Cafes, but not as many as Orleans and Exedra. In any restaurant or Cafe, if you see a girl by herself, with a cell phone on the table, and is smiling as she makes eye contact with you, that is sure sign that she is working and is available.

As you go out the door of the Cafe Orleans, turn left, go to the corner, and turn left again. Walk down about 1/2-1 block and on your left you will find a club called El Verde. You will find mostly older divorced women, some pros, but good music, dancing and a good time in the evening hours. On Saturday night, you cannot even move in there as it is so crowded. Jaz is right next to El Verde, and directly across the street you will find Cutty Sark, which opens much earlier than the other clubs, around 4-5 p.m. There is dancing, and you can have a great time with a beautiful and fun girl. Negotiate whatever you can with the girls, no pressure. You can negotiate a price for all night, but remember that many of the girls have children and they have to leave early in the morning.

There are other clubs in that area as well, stay away from Ladies as it is mostly a tourist rip off place.

Recoleta Area

Do not miss this, whatever you do. It comes alive at night and is a haven for pros and non-pros alike. There are numerous clubs for pros in this area. "Newport" near the corner of Junin and Vincente Lopez, is one. The major drawback is that it is too small. Some night are slow, as in all clubs, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday being the best, weekends are the slowest. This is true of most of the clubs.

There are other clubs all over that area as well as numerous restaurants right along the main walkway. Just pick an outdoor table, and enjoy the view. You will find pros and non-pros alike. Newport, Hippopotamus, Password, Black, Shampoo, Solid Gold, and Madaho's are some of the clubs in the Recoleta area. Some of the clubs have dance shows all night long, with beautiful costumes and beautiful girls dancing.

Sahara is just up the street from Newport, and caters mostly to a very young crowd, mostly non-pros. There is a sports bar and restaurant right next door as well.

The Microcenter

Another club is Cattos. It is located at 930 Suipacha. Beautiful women, with a nice dance show at midnight. The show runs about 40 minutes, with numerous costume changes. Drinks are 10 Pesos for you, 15-20 Pesos for the ladies. There are very nice and beautiful girls there, and unlike other clubs, there is no minimum drink purchase as such. You can have a good time watching the show with a beautiful woman next to you, then leave with her. 200 Pesos for her will usually do the trick.

Right next door to Cattos is Hook, and directly across the street is Ness, both good clubs as well.

This area is also known as the "Triangle" because of the three clubs mentioned.

Salome is another club. The address is 3401 Cordoba. Telephone is: 4964-3770. Drink prices are in line with the other clubs. There is a lounge area and bar upstairs, and some private tables and quiet areas downstairs. There are some really beautiful ladies here, and they are a lot of fun. 200 Pesos plus taxi will get them over to your hotel.

Some nights are better than others at the various clubs. You can really have a good time in the clubs, just watching and flirting, and the girls will try all sorts of things to get your attention. The girls are beautiful, you will have a great time, and the girl you bring out will most likely show you a really nice GFE.

Strip Clubs/Sex Shows

Stay out of the ones that have the pictures of strippers on the outside, and a guy trying to entice you to come in. These are tourist rip-offs, and the minute you sit down, two girls will be at your side, clapping their hands for drinks, and you will be out 60 Pesos.

Non Pros

There are numerous upscale clubs as well. One is "BA News" or "Buenos Aires News." It is a local hot spot for upscale weekend activity. Mostly non-pros, also a very young crowd. If you want to get laid with a non-pro, it will normally take you about 2-3 dates before she will agree. The time will vary of course with different individuals, but don't expect to take a non-pro home after one drink. But maybe you will get lucky(grin). The locals really tend to dress up at night, so you might bring some nice clothes if you are going out to one of the nicer places. Black is a good color for BA. You do not have to limit your attempts to clubs. The banks and shopping centers during a normal business day have some beautiful women to meet your eyes. Start up a friendly conversation, tell her she is beautiful, ask her out to dinner, and see where it takes you. A good dinner and Tango show are a good place to take anybody.

Another club in Recolata that is mainly non-pros, is Puerto Suelo. It is just a bar, but has a lot of talent on various nights. It is just down the street from Newport. Dancing, talk, a good place to meet local non-pros, and a few semi-pros. There is a pool hall and bar right next door as well.

Newspapers

There are two major newspapers in Buenos Aires. One is the Buenos Aires Hearld and it is in English. The other is Clarin and it is in Spanish. Buenos Aires Hearld has some ads for escorts and massages, but Clarin has a lot more from ladies looking to make some cash. Prices as advertised are very reasonable, and they range anywhere from $30 on up. I've tried a few, and have had good results.

Phone Service

Everybody is carrying around cell phones in BA, and you access the number from within BA by dialing a 15 first, then an 8 digit number. A typical cell phone number within BA will be: 15-xxxx-xxxx, but if you are calling cell phone to cell phone, you do not need the "15." If you are calling this number from the U.S., you do not need the "15." From the U.S. to a cell phone in Buenos Aires, you need a 9 in front of the city code as well, so you would dial: 54-911-xxxx-xxxx. If you are calling a house or business from the U.S., just dial 54-11-xxxx-xxxx. You can count on the girls keeping their phone numbers for a while, so if you want to see a special lady the next time you are back, just save her number. Some hotels charge $5 just to call a cell phone from your room. Find out if they do charge for this, and if so, just buy a phone card from any newsstand and use a public phone to avoid the charges.

If you have a person's phone number listed in your cell phone in BA, if it is listed as 15-xxxx-xxxx, the person's name will not show up. An easy fix to that is to have only the number, and not the "15" ion front of it, as cell phone to cell phone, the "15" is not needed.

Scams

1. Watch out for counterfeit money. A favorite trick is for the taxi drivers to ask if you would be so kind as to change a large bill for them. Don't do it, as the money you receive will be money that has been out of circulation for some time. Carry small bills for taxis. Also, some counterfeit money as been starting to surface lately. See the following post and photos from another gentleman who received some of the phony bills:

Last night the bar tender at Hook gave me counterfeit money. I did not realize until the next day. He gave me a fake 20 and a fake 10 peso bill. They are both photocopies. It is dark in there, and I did not look at the money. Today when I went to the store, the person working there picked it up in 1 second. So obviously this is a tourist trick as the Argentines know right away that it is fake.

The 10 and the 20 on the top left corner on the respective bills should be like a reflective sticker and shinny. On the fake ones it is just like it was printed on a LaserJet.

I just noticed also there is an embedded strip that is only visible when you hold it up to the light! The strip goes from top to bottom, and starts from where the white section turns into the color section. Just hold it up to the light.

If you look at the 10 and 20 in the top left corner, it has just been printed on a LaserJet or perhaps a color photocopier. Real money will have a shiny reflective number almost like a glossy sticker. Due to the limitations of the photograph it is probably not visible here on the Internet. But when you look at the real money you will see what I mean.

The paper quality is also not as good. But Argentina's money is not as good quality as American money, and does not feel as firm regardless. As such, just feeling the paper is not as obvious as if someone gave you a fake USD.

Also, there are small color imperfections in the money. But in Hook it was dark and this was not noticeable.

In both photos, the fake bill is on the top.



2. Another trick is played on the tourist or people who look like tourists who are walking in good clothes. Somebody, maybe a good-looking female, "accidentally" bumps into you and spills mustard all over your clothes. While you are getting over the shock, and they are "apologizing and cleaning you up," someone else is taking your money out of your pocket. By the time you realize what is happening, your money is gone, and your clothes are ruined.

3. Be careful, also, of picking up street walkers from a car. Very often they are transvestites or worse yet, a setup for a kidnapping. Stick with the clubs and escorts, and the cafes mentioned above and you should not have a problem.

4. Taxis are playing tricks now as well. A favorite is for the taxi to appear to break down, but the driver's amigo is right behind him in another taxi and he will continue the journey. When you get into the taxi, he will drive a short distance, and then rob you. If your taxi breaks down, get out and get a new one. Do not use his amigo's taxi. Other taxi scams are springing up all the time. A good method is to use Radio Taxis and to let them see you jot down the license number of the taxi before you get in.

Vitamin V

Vitamin V is available at most pharmacies without a prescription under the generic name of Sildenafil. If you forget this name, just ask for Viagra.

Some Final Thoughts

As in any Latin American city, dinner is usually after 9:00, and the clubs really don't start getting busy until after midnight. You do not have to look like an actor or speak Spanish to have a good time. It is very easy to spend quality time with a beautiful woman, just treat her like a lady and be a gentleman with her. If your business or other travels take you there, I hope this will help you enjoy the life a bit more. A great time awaits you.

Restaurants

The food and restaurants are excellent, as is the beer and wine. A good area of restaurants is "Campo Dei Fiori," located at Venezuela and San Jose. This is a group of three restaurants all owned by the same people. One is steak, one is pasta/chicken, and the other is fish. If you like a huge steak, order the T-Bone. Biggest one I've seen yet.

If you want to watch American sporting events while in BA, El Alamo restaurant is great for this. They have NFL Sunday Ticket, as well as MLB, and NBA games. The food is excellent, and the entire staff speaks English. It is located at Uruguay 1175.

There is another fine area of restaurants in Puerto Madero. This is near the waterfront, starting at the base of Belgrano and running Northbound. Many old warehouses and such have been converted to really fine restaurants. Take your choice on any of them, you won't go wrong. You usually have your choice of inside or outside dinning. When you are through with dinner, take a walk with your girl along the waterfront. At the Northern end of the walkway, there is a large Disco. I have not been in this one though. At the Southern end of Puerto Madero is a riverboat turned into a casino. That is a fun place to play and the girls really enjoy it.

The Recoleta area contains numerous restaurants, all of them good, and the prices all vary. The restaurants range from McDonalds and Hooters to fine upscale restaurants. Grants, at 1125 Junin, in Recoleta, is an indoor, all you can eat place. There is a large variety of food, and will please the taste buds of anybody in your group. Many of the restaurants are right in front and next door to and up the street from the club Newport, the club mentioned earlier. Many of the other clubs are right near there as well. It is very easy to be sitting down enjoying a beer, and invite one of the local girls that are passing by to join you for dinner and the remainder of the evening.

There are cafes all over the city, and you will not go wrong with any of them. In any of these restaurants, if you see a girl alone, making eye contact with you and smiling, she is available.
