BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - Gay tango classes and same-sex unions may not be mentioned in every guidebook, but such attractions are turning Buenos Aires into a new South American mecca for gay travellers.

A port city of 3 million people, Buenos Aires has never had trouble luring tourists with its European-style elegance, historic neighbourhoods and reputation for beautiful people.

But more and more of its visitors are gay, mostly men, who through word of mouth or advertising hear about the city's vibrant circuit where "out" men and women are an accepted part of urban life.

Martin Oortwyn, a 50 year old in the software business, landed in the city in mid-February from the Netherlands.

"I went to some gay bars yesterday. It is like wherever in Europe. It could be Amsterdam, London, it could be Madrid. Very fashionable," he said.

As Argentina recovers from an economic crisis and the leisure industry revives, Buenos Aires is cultivating its image as a Latin American rebel that embraces the social values of Europe more than macho culture and Roman Catholic doctrine.

Last year, the number of tourists in Buenos Aires surged 38 percent as Europeans and North Americans took advantage of a favourable exchange rate that makes everything from barbecues to operas at the grandiose Teatro Colon dirt cheap.

Morals aside, gay and lesbian tourism is also very lucrative. Argentina wants to grab a bigger slice of the estimated $94 billion (49.12 billion pounds) in annual revenue the niche market generates worldwide, according to the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association, IGLTA.

That's why the group chose Buenos Aires as the site for its annual symposium in late February where it coached 109 tour operators from 10 countries on how to get in on this booming new business.

"It's an extremely large and profitable niche market that brings in travel receipts in excess of $55 billion out of America only, with research producing a figure of around $94 billion worldwide," said Robert Wilson, executive director of

IGLTA.

OK guys I admit it, I’m a lesbian trapped in a mans body!

Now you know why I'm coming to BA.

I feel so much better, now that I have publicly expressed my true feeling.

Thanks Moondog,

I'm planning to be in BA the last 2 weeks on May. Where's a good place or time to meet up with fellow mongers? I perfer to hang with the older crew let's say 45 to 50.

Hi Cowpie,

Meeting up with the other guys in town is what the Mansion parties are all about.

Thanks,

Jackson

Cowpie,

I am not 100% sure, but the last I heard Marie Christina has taken a break to pursue other opportunities. I don't think she is currently working. I am sure that Roxanna know for sure, but I know that she has a number of gals that she will highly recommend. I hope that you enjoy your visit!!

Cowpie,

Jackson is correct. It is a good idea also to send out a few private messages to other guys who are or will be in town during your stay, and build from there. The cafes Exedra and Orleans, plus the Triangle clubs are all good meeting points as well. Just don't advertise your handle or mention WSG in the these places. Best to meet privately one on one, and build. Roxana can also introduce you to other guys that are in town.

According to Roxana, Maria Christina is in a relationship with a guy here in the USA whom got her a Visa and she is currently living with him.

But thats not to say she's comptetely out of the business. Im told she does a little TDY work in Las Vegas from time to time and she still maintains relationships with her extra special clients whom require her Special Services.

Ive always wanted to Fuck Maria Christina, I think she's beautiful, but frankly Ive always been afraid too as Im not at all interested in her Extra Special Services.

Thanks gentelmen,

I appreciate the info on Maria. She was a classy and enjoyable woman to spend time with in and out the the rack. If I remember correctly BA, still has a few hotties ready, willing and able.

Has anybody tried Dani of escorts-argentina?.

Cowpie is the guy.

It's a good thing for mongers. It may decrease the hetero / chica ratio and have a price softening effect. (Although Argies tend to increase prices when demand slacks to make up for lost revenue)

For respect of my property, my clients and myself I just don't rent the apartments to gay man.

Two weeks ago I had a booking from 2 guys and I made the check in. Suddenly they started to biitch about the apartment size, and they also biitched about the elevator and look this: the color of the soap does not matches! So I've got pissed and I said, all right let's cancel this and I called an hotel so I cancelled the deal. I can't be sure, but I think they were gay.

Of course, if they don't let me know in advance it would be not polite to ask "are you gay?" by email, but for those who wrote me "is it your apartment gay-friendly" I answered we have no availability. I know that my competitors are making efforts to gain more presence on the gay friendly marketshare. But I keep outside of that.

I have never had bisexual girls as clients but I pray for that happens as soon as possible.

As I was flying from BA to Iguazu at the end of October. I saw two guys coming to me and sitting next to me in the plane.

It was a couple of gays frenchman. As I am (quite the last;) non gay frenchman (lol) I was able to read what my neighbour wrote on his (hers?)Diary.

They came in BA to meet a french friend which is sick, getting lighter and thiner and wants to finish his life in BA. Eating something like 45 pills a day. Guess what is his sickness.

And the guy was describing his meetings in restaurants, saunas. In Palermo. He (she?) was an adept of bareback.

Happily I had a sea (air) sickness bag in front of me:) so on my own opinion this kind of clientele is quite frequent.

When getting my trip ready, I was not able to find some "normal sex" internet site with accurate observations in French, the informations were scarce. That's why I am here. But I found some for gays. Very well informated, really nice with adresses, maps, and so on.

Both mongers and chicas of note are actively doing it. There are many risks in this hobby, and such behavior ought to make one think carefully about it.
