3899 Rivadavia on the corner of Medrano. Take the A line subway from downtown in the direction of Primera Junta and get off at Castro Barros.

Without exception, the most beautiful confiteria in Buenos Aires. If you like Tortoni's, you'll fall in love with this place. Originally built in 1884, it fell into disrepair and had been abandoned for many years. In 2000, a group of Spanish investors bought it and restored it to its original grandure.

It is a full service restaurant and patisserie at confiteria prices. A la cart menu plates 10 to 20 pesos. Execellent food and service. If you want to see how Buenos Aires looked in its turn of the century heyday, don't miss this one. Stained glass everywhere. Lots of detailed wood inlays, brass and marble. Great place to take a date.
