The most common ways visitors to Buenos Aires watch Tango is to go to a Tango show or watch street dancers. They use a style of Tango called "Tango Fantasia" which is highly exaggerated for the audiences.

The other way is to visit the Milongas. These are the Tango dance halls where Argentinians and Tango devotees from around the world come to dance. The style here is called "Milonguero" and is characterized by chest to chest contact between the dancers. Most milongas cost about 10 pesos to enter and most drinks are about half that. BuenoAiresMilongas. Com has a list of Milongas.

It is very heartening for a 50+ guy to see nicely dressed young ladies rapturously clutching guys in their 60's and 70's. Tango Argentino is the toughest dance to learn, but as someone on a Tango board once said "I have seen my future and it is not on the Golf Course."
