I will be in BA for a few days in June before a hunting trip. We are being put up at the Hotel Intercontinental. I could not find much info about this hotel. Is it a nice place? Close to any action? Chica friendly?

Thanks in advance.

Raider93Never stayed there myself. For the price, you can usually count on Intercontinental Hotel to have nice facility.

Here is the map:

Depends where you want to hang out, 5 - 7 pesos taxi ride should get you to Microcentro clubs and privados, 10 - 12 pesos to Recoleta.

The reason you can not find any information about the Hotel that it is to far out of the action.

I myself like to walk to my place with a Chica. Or a short cab ride.

The area is also dead at night. No action. Except unless you like to be a target when walking late?

Check the List for a better area for action in Microcentro, (Retiro, San Nicolas) Recoleta, Palermo.

Apartments are always cheaper.

I stayed there last October and it is chica friendly. I had a girl meet me there and they let her come up to me room. I don't even know if she had to sign in. It is a beautiful, very expensive 5 star hotel. It's a 10 minute ride to Recoletta and only 5 min to Microcenter area.

I think WorldTraveler69 is giving you some good advice. I have come through BA twice a year now for several years to go dove hunting in Salta and Cordoba, and have always found the Marriott Plaza to be centrally located, easy walking distance to clubs and private apartments, and has a very chica friendly management and security detail as long as your "guest" has a passport. The hotel does not like its guests being ripped off, and thus the positive ID requirement. I just priced rooms for April on Orbitz and it was $176 with the 21% tax.

Just to second what WT69 said, the area around the Intercontinental is dead at night. Even if I were to be in Bs As on business, I still might avoid walking in that neighborhood at night.

If you must though, the IC is Chica friendly as it hosts several airline crews, with the pilots who schedule BsAs "layovers" some of their best customers. In addition, the lounge at the hotel is pretty much full of other Americans, so it's one of the best places in BsAs where you will have a chance of seeing a major US sporting event.

Priority Club has this hotel for only 5K points a night. You can buy up to 20,000 points for $200. I've never stayed at this hotel, but it seems a good deal. Note that if you don't have the points in your account, it might take a couple of days for them to post.

I did check, and they have availability in April.

Has anyone tried to get 2 chicas into the Intercontinental? Is this going to happen for me while I'm there?
