I just took home a dancer from La Lopez. I took some pics of her and she wanted to show me some of her pics online. So she signed into hotmail and showed me all of these pics of her with other guys.

She left and never signed out of hotmail. Right now I am sitting here with probably enough info to ruin several peoples lives. I have names, addresses, jobs on 4 guys with some rather interesting photos to back it up. May even be a board member. One guy really overpaid to take the girl to Barioloche. 5 grand for 3 days and the guy is from chicago and works for boeing. One guy is talking about getting away from his wife for a few days, and was kind enough to give his address also. I could probably call his house right now and ask how she was!

Why do guys tell chicas there real name, job, etc? I am a walking bullshit machine when talking to girls. You can never trust these girls.

These girls are morons when it comes to computers and the repercussions of there actions.

I'm not an asshole I will look at all her pics and save the ones I like, but I think its something most of us have not thought of.

But be sure to do the right thing, KG, and keep confidences private. Because if you don't karma will come back on you in the way you least expect it, very badly.

You are 100% correct Hunt. I logged out of her mail after I got some select pics of her solo.

I was just amazed how some guys leave themselves open to getting bit in the ass. It was almost as mind blowing as the sex but in a different way.

Some of us give out e-mail address to chicas which might have an non-descriptive name as part of the e-mail address thinking that is safe. However, when those e-mail accounts were set up, real full names might have been used. So the e-mail recipients might see the registered names along with the e-mail adddress. I sent a test e-mail to my other e-mail accounts to make sure what do the recipient can see.

Thanks for sharing your encounter with that careless chica, KG. I have heard a story that one chica I knew gave out a fellow board member her e-mail password and asked him to log on for her. I don't exactly know why she did that, but that is not good.

We have to assume anything we send to the chicas can be compromised and be seen by others. And it can even be by their jealous novios since the chicas might have given out their password to them.

Some years back when locutorios weren't so available here in BA, I had my office in the building on the corner above Exedra. Quite a few girls would come up to check their e-mails. More than one gave me their password to check their mails for them.

There was one guy with quite a high position in an international company that used to travel to BA with a certain regularity. He was seeing a hooker here and from his mails, quite "hooked" on her (excuse the expression)

This girl was an old friend of mine and I had her password. I'd check her mails, call her home, tell her the contents and answer whatever she used to tell me to answer. She'd give me a freebie now and then or something like that! Hahahaha.

Anyway, the point is that this guy used to put enough info into the mail that he was an invitation for blackmail. I used to answer him (as if I was the chica) telling him not to be so free with all his private info and the idiot would answer that e-mails were perfectly safe and no one could have access to them!

I've seen so much stupidity that all I can say is lucky the chicas in general are more decent than most people credit them to be. And it is decency and nothing else because they know quite well what they could do with those mails. I have seen a few cases of mongers getting squeezed but compared to the amount of idiots out there it's minimum.

Just wondered, what do you tell non-pro's?I bullshit them too. You never know who these people are.

I have no intention of a serious relationship here with any chica's. I am a very independent type.

Well, if you check your mail in someone else's computer or in a public computer like those of the locutorios, you must always uncheck the "remember me on this computer" box, and after checking your mail, log off. That's basic stuff, if you don't do it and someone gets access to your account, you deserve the consequences.;)

That's all well and good for most of us - we are very familiar with computers and the consequences of unsecure actions related directly to logging in / logging out of your OWN accounts while on ANY computer.

The point of what Member #3314 and Aquaaung are saying is that you could send a compromising message to a chica, and otherwise be completely safety concious on your own machine and in locutorios, but you are making a big mistake in trusting the chicas to understand the consequences of computer / security safety because they really don't think like that at all.

Most chicas ONLY use the computer for email to communicate with their clients and have been taught by other chicas (in many cases) who didn't understand really 1) what they are doing on a computer beyond the rote steps to open email and correspond and 2) certainly NEVER think beyond their correspondence as far as deleting messages, letting other chicas or even mongers see their email.

SSL does not stop a DNS re-direct hack that makes a bogus website to steal your login info. The DNS spoof will invalidate the certificate of the server. Certificates are tied to an IP address with domain name (or even the FQDN) Therefore I feel it is safe to say that the moment the certificate is correct, and there are no errors whatsoever, and you are only using an SSL connection, then you can safely use the internet from wherever needed.

However a computer in an internet cafe or any other public accessible computer has to be considered a 100% unsafe.

I do agree though to use a separate email for all sensitive stuff like password reminders etc.

Regarding the POP / IMAP connections to pick up email, most hosting providers support POP-SSL and IMAP-SSL. Just use that option, and nothing is unencrypted over the connection.

People logging into their corporate account via a (public) hotspot are just stupid. Most companies will not allow email to be picked up that way, only via a SSL encrypted VPN connection. If the company allows unencrypted logins to pickup email, then they are asking for trouble.

Oh, before I forget, in most countries storing sniffed network traffic is against the law. Even trying to do so is against the law in some countries. So you better be careful!

JaJaJa!

We could go back and forth like an arms race. You seem like a pretty smart guy.

We should have a drink next time I am in town. I met you a while back.

I actually have a FDE drive by seagate, its fully encrypted, this is a handy feature going thru US customs. There is a faster one coming out soon from Hitachi I think. As long as I am fast enough to close the lid on the laptop they are not getting any of my data.

A funny thing to do is go to Orleans and run bluetooth goodies on the chicas. Most girls have there phones wide open. I do it from my windows ce phone.

Cheers!

FDE and host encryption are a great comfort if your laptop is lost or stolen but won't do jack for you going through US Customs where you are required to provide passwords and encryption keys upon request. Decline and it's off to the little room until you provide them. At the border, the concept of probable cause doesn't exist.

True story, I really should not talk about it so I will be brief.

A friend who works for a large company was flying back from an asian country. He had a company laptop with an FDE drive in it. He was on a very important business trip.

They land at LAX, customs asks to see the laptop, he says no. They take him to a room ask him nicely to provide the password, he asks for the company lawyer.

End of story is they took the laptop, imaged the drive (this was noticed by the striped screws in the HD bay) sent it back a week later with a letter saying if they find anything in his data he can be held in the future.

He was out of the room in 4 hours.

The company lawyer had given him instructions on what to do in case this happened.

Granted the govt. Has the data, but they don't have the key, therefore the company does not have to tell all of its clients that the proprietary info was stolen by the US.

Moral, if you have money you have rights.

Case #2

A guy I work with is a hardcore libertarian. He made an encrypted partition on his drive. On returning from Amsterdam they asked him to open it up. He also went to the room. He did not have a lawyer. He went back and forth for hours. Granted the guy has a PHD and is not a schmuck.

In the end he just wanted to fuck with them. The only thing in the encrypted document was a copy of the constitution and bill of rights. He opened it for them after a few hours.

I don't have any kiddie porn (I actually like women over 25) or military secrets, stand up for your rights and don't roll over like a putz.

Moral, if you have some balls and not stupid you can fuck with the TSA / INS.

Both cases were within the last 5 weeks.

Cheers!

A guy I work with is a hardcore libertarian.Hard drives are so yesterday. A smart villain -- the sort we really ought to fear -- is going to store his data on the network / cloud.

Your libertarian friend is my hero. Wish there were more like him.

Try a program called TruCrypt, it works by dual password. If anyone asked you to unlock your encrypted drive, you type your first pass and they see your family photos. They will not know of the existance of any other pass or files - in fact there is no way to prove if there is another pass / area (from size, location etc.

At the comfort of your house you can open the program with ypur second pass and watch your (over 18) conquests of your mongering trip!

I see that this thread has been inactive for some time, but I have a relevant question regarding chicas and computer use / email.

How sophisticated are chicas with computers and email? Do some of them own a personal computer or do they usually use internet cafes? I guess I am curious about girls on sites like Area-VIP, Playtnum or Bairesgirl who post their email addresses.

On a separate note, I am curious what percentage of people in Argentina own computers? Are they becoming as common as having a TV or a phone?

Some of these girls live in "Hotels" which are like pensiones and it may be hit or miss whether they will have internet in their rooms. Cable almost certainly btw. Anyone who does not own property for a guarantee, have connections to borrow property to use as a guarantee, have a boyfriend who maintains them or has given the use of an apartment, etc etc, is not likely to live in an actual apartment. But maybe those I just listed as more fortunate would be likely to have access to a computer with an internet connection.

Most of the girls will go to locutorios ("internet cafes" although most of them are far from a cafe)

On a separate note, I am curious what percentage of people in Argentina own computers? Are they becoming as common as having a TV or a phone?A lot of the younger upper class will have computers, or upper class with children, etc. The percentage of households with computers is going to go down with the amount of money earned.

As to actual numbers I really don't know. Most of the Argentinos I know are through business, educated and considered high middle or upper class. I know a few locals that are in jobs like garage attendant / manager or portero who do not have computers.

I know one chica who just got a computer from a "boyfriend", who just came to visit for four months. As soon as he leaves, she plans to send it back to her kids in Paraguay. She would rather go to a locutorio than take a risk on having something valuable in her "hotel".

Most of the chicas I talk to use locutorios.

The apartments I usually stay at have no internet connection. But most of time I can pick up half a dozen of so wireless signals from the neighbors. Most of them are secured and needing passwords. But every now and then I pick one that does not need password.

El Queso, your comments are quite informative.

Originally I had the US mindset that everyone has a computer. It didn't quite occur to me that most people in Argentina would use locutorias until I saw that they have just about one on every block in BA.

My intial impression of BA was that it appears very similar to a large US city like NYC and thought that the use and ownership of computers and the internet would be high. But I guess there are differences in the use of computers and the internet.
