In some reports I read about cola. I don't think its referring to coca cola. So what is it?Cola means either ass hole or buttocks.

MCSE is wrong as normal. Cola would translate to butt, in general. In fact, it means "tail" and can either be used to refer to the booty or to a line such as a ticket line (a "queue") or a grocery line. The word for buttocks is "nalgas." The word for asshole is "culo."

However MCSE is not completely wrong because sometimes "cola" is used as a polite substitute for "culo" which is a fairly vulgar word that can not be used in a lot of social situations.

Anyway you guys who are into that would rather not think about the fact you are putting your dick in her dirty, shitty, bacteria-ridden ass hole so you talk about doing "la cola" when in fact you are doing "el culo."

Another word that can be used for butt or booty or heinie is "trasero" which translates as something close to "rear end." "Me gusta tu trasero" would be a fairly acceptable "piropo" in many situations, especially if you are an experienced "chamullero."

In fact, it means "tail" and can either be used to refer to the booty or to a line such as a ticket line (a "queue") or a grocery line Can be a dog tail as well, but not in this context. Cola it's used by higher-upper class woman to reffer to their own buttocks (nalgas) by the way, in Argentina "nalga" it's used only for the caws, while in Mexico it's common for humans buttocks.

In prostitution centers, and escorts websites they will never use the word "culo". They will use the word "cola" for anal sex. Some girls reject to say "cola" as they prefer to say "haceme la colita".

You may only use the word "culo" in the following contexts:

1- When you and your girlfriend are very horny, you can say "te voy a hacer el culo"

2- When you are drunk and a nice girl is around, and you know your actual possibilities for actually fucking her are less than 1% you may tell her: "te romperia el culo a pijazos" (I wish I practice anal sex with you)

3- Among male friends, when the loser soccer team seems to be losing, you may say "les estan rompiendo el culo", or "les estamos rompiendo el culo" or, "nos estan rompiendo el culo" depending on the team you are supporting.

4- When prices are much higer than supposed "te rompieron el culo"

With that said, "culo" it's so vulgar that it's preferabely used for cases with abstract disadvantage situations rather the actual ass hole. It's important to menction that in other latin-american countries it's used for reffering the actual butt in sentences like a famous hip-hop song "a mover el culo" (shake your bootie) but not among portenos, and that's the reason for Dick Head's confusion.

Another word that can be used for butt or booty or heinie is "trasero" which translates as something close to "rear end." "Me gusta tu trasero" would be a fairly acceptable "piropo" in many situations, especially if you are an experienced "chamullero."Trasero it's understood but not accepted. Trasero, meaning "rear" it's used mostly in Mexico, due the influence of Mexican soap operas, trasero it's understood, but not used by portenos / as.

By the way, linked it's the most beautiful graphic testimonial of the best colas Buenos Aires has to offer http://www.barts.com.ar/barts/flash_video.php?recordID=sfilata

If you want to see some of them live and direct, you should go to Megatlon in la Imprenta and you'll see similar quality.

My current favorita, who is from Buenos Aires province (partido de Pilar) uses "trasero" all the time, and she's never been to Mexico. She hates the word "culo" and uses "ano" when necessary. She also hates it when I say someones lives in "loma de culo" which means "out in the sticks."

Culo is also used for someone or something very lucky.

Ganó la lotería. Que culo!

He won the lottery. How lucky!

Ojete and orto are another two synonyms for culo.

Colaless is used as in the same way as topless but for the nether regions!

Trasero is quite commonly used here when culo is too rude and cola a little too risqué or sexy like for example from a boss to his employee "Mové el trasero!" (move your ass! - hurry up! Or "Te pego una patada en el trasero!" (I'll kick your ass! And as Dickhead says, it would be quite acceptable to use as a "piropo" as in "me gusta tu trasero" and it it has been in use in Argentina long before there were ever any Mexican soap operas!

And MCSE - you remind me of Manolito one of Mafald, the cartoon character's friends who is always using any excuse to name his father's grocery store! http://www.todohistorietas.com.ar/manolito.htm

I think you'll find a lot of people saying things the way I just did. Besame culo; they often don't say besame el culo like they probably should. The favorita is fairly well-educated (colegio de monjas) and I notice if she is speaking in general terms she'll include the article: La manteca tiene grasa. But she'll also point to the water bottle and say, "Quiero agua," not quiero el agua. Then again, I've heard her say, "Pasame el agua, por favor."

So what does this mean (I know the answer): "Ella es una malco"? I have heard that both with and without the indefinite article. But "Ella es Johnny" makes less sense to me, although I know what they are getting at.

You probably don't notice the article as they add it almost as a continuation of the verb. "Besamel culo" and not as a separate word but trust me it's always there. It's more noticeable when the noun is feminine such as in "agarrame la pija"

"Quiero agua" is perfectly correct and used in the same situations as in English "I want water" is used rather than "I want the water" but she would say pasame el agua (pronounced pasamel agua) as in English pass me the water and not pass me water!

Same again. "Ella es una mal cogida" and "Ella es mal cogida" In both cases use as in English "She is a badly / poorly fucked (person)" and "She is badly / poorly fucked (by her boyfriend)" where the object is tacit.

And finally, again, "Ella es Johnny" or "Ella es una Johnny" use as in English "She is American" or "She is an American"

These posts are in the wrong thread so if Jackson would kindly move them to the correct place we can continue with them.

Johnny means skinny, not American: "Ya ni teta ni cola" = zha ni = Johnny. In other words, a spinner. My friends in their 20s use this but my friends in their 30s don't seem to be familiar with it. No tits and no ass. Olive Oyl. A carpenter's dream: flat as a board and easy to nail. That sort of thing. Normally it is not a compliment, as far as I can tell.

In the case you use it's someone who has lost a lot of weight "Ya ni tetas ni culo (le quedan)" - "No more tits or ass left on her"

When used as you mentioned "ella es yani" it's turning part of the expression into a noun. Far from correct grammar but very common in Argentina.

I hear that expression applied to women the other woman has never seen before, and thus would have no idea if she had or had not lost weight. Basically it is an insult for anyone who is skinnier than the speaker thinks they should be. Or, it could be used to find out what kind of chica you are looking for. Several times chubettes have used this tactic to find out if I am not interested in them because they are fat, or for some other reasons, asking me if I am "en busco de yanis" or do I prefer "mas carne."

Several times chubettes have used this tactic to find out if I am not interested in them because they are fat, or for some other reasons, asking me if I am "en busco de yanis" or do I prefer "mas carne."Once again, Johnny is slang for American like Tommy would be for a Brit or Paddy for an Irishman!

Johhny and Yani are not pronounced the same - it may seem to you but I can assure you it's not! English is a more consonant stressed language and the vocals can change quite a bit but Spanish is a 100% vocal language. In Spanish they don't change so an O is and O and an A is and A.

However your friends use the expression "yani" is just an extension of it's original meaning. Ella (which would be the tacit subject of the sentence) ya no tiene ni tetas ni cola (She no longer has tits nor ass) so originally it would be about someone that was known to the speaker. Or how would the speaker know she NO LONGER (Ya ni/no/) had something?

Most of the chicas can hardly write their names correctly let alone string a sentence together so they are certainly not dependable if your are trying to learn a little Spanish and definitely not quotable in an argument about the use of certain expressions.

Slang is a valid part of any language and thanks to it languages are vital and dynamic but before getting into it first learn the language correctly.

Oh, and I've taught at Catholic Schools (colegio de curas) and I know how atrociously bad education can be at many of them.

Hey Aqualung, if you say it I give you the last word. It's just my personal experience I have only heared "cola" for buttocks / ass / asshole, is it there a possibility that low-middle class people are more likely to use "trasero"? I have also heared "traste" for ass among hi-upper class old ladies as well.

To a point it is true what you say - lower middle class would have a tendency to say trasero while higher middle class would use traste - But it's more a cultural difference than economic.

In my very lower class barrio, cola means tail while coulo is ass. In a loose sense cola would also mean ass, tail everything together. And tail does not have the same meaning as "looking for some tail" does back in the states.
