View Full Version : What is the difference between an escort and a hooker?

I am starting this thread to discuss this issue. I have been with about 800 hookers but zero escorts, so that makes me curious. I have taken some (five) favoritas on trips. Does that make them escorts?

If I take a hooker to a restaurant and pay for her meal, does that make her an escort even though I am not paying for her time as well?

If I take a hooker I consider a personal friend to a play or a comedy show, and pay for the ticket, does that make her an escort even though I am not paying for her time as well?

To me, an escort would be someone who charges for her time regardless of whether sex or another use of her time is involved. So in two of the five cases where I traveled with a hooker, I gave her X amount of money per day, besides paying for all the expenses of the trip. But it was just the same amount of money per day that I gave her every other time I had sex with her, and I had sex with her every day of the trip. Is that an escort or not?

Chicks that don't like to be reminded that they are prostitutes and guys that don't like to think that they are prostitutes.

I'm with you, I've got zero interest in escorts. I can make friends on my own. I've invited more than a few working girls to dinner, some have accepted and some have not. The ones that did never charged me for that time, nor would I have paid it. The ones that said no I said, ok, then come over before dinner and fuck me, then I didn't have to pay for their dinner.

I would also suggest that pretty much any chick that writes "And sex it is not the most important thing it has to be something complementary" on a forum that is dedicated to, well, commercial sexual services.

Well, I do admire the "escort" in question for knowing the difference between complimentary and complementary. One of the funnier experiences I had when traveling with a chica / escort / hooker was our both being invited to dinner by a gringo and him going on and on about what a great place Buenos Aires would be if weren't for all the prostitutes all over the place (this was 2005 when there were still streetwalkers or at least streetstanders on Florida and so forth). Eventually he realized through his martini haze that he had been dominating the conversation and so he asked my companion, "So what do you do for a living?" and without missing a beat she replied, "I'm a prostitute.".

Priceless!

I always thought that escort was simply a useful euphemism for prostitute that was primarily of use in advertising in the USA where advertising oneself as a prostitute is generally illegal.

But I have seen in the UK where there is a sector or group of women who do not sell sex but companionship. They accompany you to social events and they have all the clothing and accessories for any type of event. No sex but a well dressed educated companion. I would say this type of companionship could or would be considered a true "Escort".

All women are prostitutes.

All men are customers.

Just add this word in front and everyone will be happy.

All men are customers.

I am reading the novel "The Power of the Dog" by Don Winslow. (It's a good beach book.) One of the lead characters is a high end prostitute whose clients are the criminal bosses.

There are several factors that contribute to her job. One thing is that she is recruited and trained by by an older woman who teaches her how to dress and be in society. You can take her to a private dinner party for example. She stays in top physical condition. She reads newspapers every day so she can converse with her dates on sports and business. Of course, because most her clients are married, she does the things in bed the wives won't do. She has affection and might care for her clients but she would never fall in love with them. She knows she has a shelf life so she invests her money. She takes time off so she does not burn out.

Although a work of fiction, I find Winslow's view realistic.

Sounds like it might be a fun read. It is $9.81 on Kindle so a bit out of my price range ja ja. I also would like to recommend Buenos Aires butcher, by Sheldon Sommer, available on Amazon for Kindle for $2.99. Sheldon is a guy I met when I was living in Panam who lived in BsAs for a while. He is a recovering attorney, a baseball fan, and a super bright guy who went to Harvard Law. Check it out.

Thanks,

Jax.Okay, let me state this another way: "All sexually active women receive some sort of 'consideration' from their male sex partners which facilitates said partner's access to the sexual playground.".

"Consideration" can be almost anything of value, including love, attention, interest, affection, gifts, indirect financial support, promises of lifetime financial support, and of course cash.

Thanks,

Jax.

Yeah, that's a little bit better. Your misogyny was showing, or maybe it's just misanthropy. Hard to tell sometimes.

Jax.I remember something a friend of my mom once said about her daughter "she married well" when what she meant was "she married wealthy." Didn't matter that the guy was an asshole (I know him) just that he had "money." Covert prostitution.

Overt is just more honest.

I think this is going to be one of those male bashing books that Daddy Rulz hates so much.

Read the synopsis from the link and you can bet your ass it's going to be the pressure put on her to preform by men which caused her mental illness. Then I'm sure it had to be a man who misdiagnosed her condition and prescribed drugs that made her mental illness turn into nymphomania where she was further degraded by men while spreading her legs for money. It could never be her fault it had to be someone or something else's fault. The typical female liberal rant from the folks who give us the front page of Voge to celebrate the courage of Catlyn Jenner to come out of the closet.

These people are fuc*ed up beyond belief. Just IMHO.

Overt is just more honest.Marrying up it's about evolution. It's not exclusive of the female. But it's more common for women to marry up. Covert prostitution may be also considered when you work for the man, what about that? What about accepting a payment for playing a football game with less stamina than usual? The only difference on covert prostitution and corruption would be that does not involves sex, but what about if the one that makes the payment is a beautiful girl and you fuck her just before accepting the payment?
