The only reason why I think someone should travel to Costa Rica is if they are on a VERY LOW budget. Most likely you can get a flight for between 350-450usd and it is the type of place where you'd only spend like 3-4 days maximum. I was only there for 3 nights and I was bored out of my mind by the end of it.
Also, the girls in the Blue Marlin might as well be hookers from the United States! Just watching them, you can see them making faces behind the guys backs, just asking you flat out "wanna go to a room" etc etc. Also the service I received in Blue Marlin was VERY MARGINAL. I was lucky I found one girl (37 years old, way too old for all the particular mongers here who demand girls 18-25 anos) who I met several times and received good service. 1 good experience and 3 bad!
The brothels in Costa Rica were ok, only 40usd. I only went during the day but the selection was pretty poor. I heard it was better at night.
So I made 1 3 day trip to Costa Rica. The bottom line: Thanks but no thanks! I'll save my money for Buenos Aires.
It looks as if my brilliant 10-point comparison between Argentina and Costa Rica (posted, moved, and now gone mysteriously) is lost to posterity. Civilization's loss, no doubt.
It was probably mostly bullshit. But it was my bullshit.
I just returned from my second two week visit to Costa Rica. Here's my take.
While the countryside is beautiful, San Jose is a grubby little town. BA, of course, is a delightful major city with all the opportunites cities offer.
Comparing CR to BA mongering, the ladies in CR are:
Slightly more expensive.
Tend to be a couple of inches shorter.
Tend to be younger.
Tend to be in the business for a short time. Lots of turnover. It's hard to find a favorita for repeat visits.
Are less educated, less sophisticated. Mostly poor girls from rural areas or from Nicaragua or Columbia. I have taken trips and spent several days with women from BA. I haven't met anyone in CR with whom I would consider spending more than an hour or so.
Tend to be more limited in what they will do. Unusual there to find a girl there who is 'completa'.
Most of the girls I met in CR did a reasonable job in bed, but there was no passion, no feeling behind their work. Many of the women I have known in BA have been passionate GFE types.
But, CR is a much shorter, less expensive flight, especially from the South East. It attracts a lot of Southern mongers down for the weekend. If you love Latinas, it's better than nothing.
Its like compering day and night. What would like to eat chicken or caviar. Going to Europe or Mexico. Yes its true B. A. Is much farther away but its a small price to pay.
I started going to CR in year 2000 and averaged 3 times a year till last year. San Jose CR is just a small city with every thing very expensive. The girls want more and are more uglier. My last trip was November of 2005 to San Jose CR and I promiced my self never again back to this dump.
So with that said march of 2006 I took my first trip to Argentina and what a excellant choice that was. Currently planning for my second trip.
In final if you can afford the price of the airline ticket and don't mind the long flight time, life is to short eat the caviar.
Apples and oranges.
CR has the advantage of being closer and is a fine destination with lots to do outdoors, surfing, etc. BA is a cosmopolitan experience, I go to both for different reasons. I go to CR more often since it is much closer and have other reasons for going there. I also found a lady friend there (strictly non pro situation) about 15 years younger, spinner, loves to dance, just great to hang with.
Although San Jose has a few interesting places to go, you don't go to CR to spend your vacation in San Jose, it is pretty much a dump without much attractiveness architecturally. Lots of pretty ladies there, though.
Yes, apples & oranges.
Since I haven't been to BA yet, I can only speculate. However, having been to San Jose, it is possibly the dirtiest city I have ever been in. And I live in the city known as Canada's steel-town, possibly the dirtiest city up here. It certainly doesn't compare to San Jose.
As to the women, I found them very affectionate if from CR, less so if they are Colombianas or Nicas. Judging by what I've read on this forum, the chicas in the Blue Marlin are more expensive. I've determined that although the flight is going to cost me about $300 more to go to BA, I'll make it up with the women there. The real drag is the time it's going to take to get down there.20 hrs. From Toronto including connection time.
CR has to be experienced at least once. Seeing the Blue Marlin packed full of hot chicas is like being a kid in a candy store! I'm not sold on repeated visits, though.
I hear how AR has hotter girls, and if I look at the escorts websites and the photos of the AR girls, I could easily believe that.
But, if these are mostly fake photos as is widely reported, then the only other photos of AR girls are those taken by mbrs in the forums sections - and most of these are chubby dogs!
Leaves me to think: if most of the hot ones are 200US in Black, then spending 100US for the really hot ones in CR's Blue Marlin seems better - esp. With the savings in airfare / travel time.
Definitely Costa Rica is the better choice. Argentinean women are fat and ugly and worthless in bed and will steal you blind. And Black has raised its prices to 350 US. Also Argentina has a polluted water supply and recently had outbreaks of cholera. They don't vaccinate here and you could easily get rubella ("German measles") and that makes most people sterile.
BsAs is all concrete and has so much bus pollution. Sun is hard to find because of the buildings, and fresh air is non-existent. Grass can only be found in the few little parks they have. Most of the grass is beaten down. Besides parks, you can see a few trees growing out of the concrete on the sidewalks, but only on a few streets. The air is terrible because there is no greenery and too many buses spewing black smoke. And you can never escape the noise no matter where you go. It is really a depressing place to live for very long but can be fun for a visit, if you don't mind sitting on a plane for a minimum of 22 hours roundtrip. There is also a lot more danger in BsAs than this message board would suggest. Walking around at night is not safe at all.

No one is forcing you to stay or putting a gun to your head. Personally I like BsAs myself, and can't wait to move there.

I live in London and there are areas I don't like walking around during the day!
In most if not all large cities there must be areas to avoid after dark.
I've been living here for well over two years and I walk all over everywhere at night and I've had no problems. BA has lots of parks. Escapee is full of shit.
I am just saying that it is a big city. I've had no problems walking at night either, but I know things can happen rather quickly. Big cities are inherently dangerous and made up of mostly concrete. After a while it can leave you longing for wide open spaces, fresh air, and sunshine. You just can't have everything all at the same time. I need that thing they had on Star Trek to beam me around to 4 or 5 cities each day. Having said that, I love BsAs. I am just not sure I could live there full time because of the lack of nature and fresh air. Costa Rica would certainly have more nature by comparison.
I've had no problems walking at night either,
You say that. Earlier you said this:
"Walking around at night is not safe at all."
So what the fuck are you talking about?
I agree BA is very depressing to live in long time. I've been here for over two years and I just want to shoot myself. Nobody should move down here. If the depression doesn't get you, then walking around at night will get you, and if neither of those get you, you'll probably get kidnapped at a stop light. Then you will be held for ransom and anally raped with a broom handle. Definitely move to Costa Rica instead, and hug a tree for me while you are there.
