I am looking for fellow wingmen during my stay. I am travelling alone and this is my first trip to BA. I'm a young highly educated guy in my early 30s. My trip is mostly tour, some business, and maybe some uhumm extra activities. Pienso que mi espanol es muy bien pero yo no se cuando estoy visitando ahi que lo sera. I am hoping I will be able to blend in a little and advance my spanish skills. I have not decided yet if I will contact Roxy, the middle man or middle woman in this case, is concerning. I mean when I was in mexico my buddy and I got completely screwed (figuratively and literally not as much as we wanted) when dealing with the middle person. But it seems you all seem to vouch for her. I have studied this forum and found it fantastic. There are so many tours and so much tourist "noise", and the way this forum distills things down is amazing. If anyone can give me info if the Art Deco Hotel and the Howard Johnson on Florida are "chica" friendly. Please let me know, as I am staying there during my 2 week stay. All the best and happy hunting.
Jak
Jak,
If your spoken spanish matches your written one, you will have no problems to negotiate yourself. It takes a while to get used to the "castellano" accent, but you will manage.
If you contact Roxana, do it because she is a fun person, and maybe do a city tour with her, she really knows her town, and not only the classic tourist spots.
I highly recommend you to hook up with some of the experienced guys on the board. To bump into them without setting up anything in advance, just drop by at Exedra around midnight and look (or listen) for a table full of gringos.
And for all your other questions, RTFF, almost everything has been addressed at some time!
Have fun
The Howard Johnson is 100% chica friendly. Actually, once you are checked in there is no need to even go past the front desk again. The front desk is on the 1st floor and you can take an elevator from the ground floor to your room. The only thing is that if you have a girl visit you, you have to go down yourself to fetch her as you need the room key / card to activate the elevator. The only thing to keep in mind is that as it's on Florida your cab or whatever has to leave you on either Paraguay street or M. T. De Alvear meaning you have to walk some 30 or 50 yards to the hotel with your bags when you arrive. This is not a big deal but keep, your eyes open for bag snatchers.

Have fun[/QUOTE]Muchos gracias mi amigo aleman. Mi escribiendo y leyendo habilidades en espanol estan un poco mejor que hablando al menos yo pienso. Speaking I am good but one sometimes i am slow, understand it I usually say "Mas despacio por favor". I had a spanish evaluation from a Spanish Professor at the University I go to and she said if I were to live in Buenos Aires it would take 2 months for me to be fluent and that I need to take a class to get used to the accent because you are completely right, the accent will get me. Escribo una amiga de Buenos Aires y ella dice el idioma es Castellano Rioplatense, cualquier, y ella tambien dice con practica puedo hablar como un argentino pronto pero yo no se. Necesito mirar por gringos a Exedra? Muy bien pero yo no quero sexo con ellos!:) I think I will take all of you guys' advice, I think all of you are my elders pretty much. I respect my elders, you guys have alot of wisdom to share! Yes I think I will contact Roxy, (do you think it is too early to do so now or should I just go ahead and email her and her gmail thing? I never had an "escort" experience, and I want it to be good not crap. Also maybe Roxy can get me used to the language a little and talk to me in the thick BA accent. I also want to see the city, and the good food I heard about. Anyone go to this restaurant la cabrera? I heard the steak is great there. Sounds like good times. Where are the most dangerous parts of the city? Is it safe for me to walk around and not take a taxi early in the morning 12-6am por ejemplo, if I will just be at HOJO on Florida and the Art Deco hotel near the obelinsko thing? Do you guys pull out girls and walk to your hotel? That is what I am asking, it is an important detail thing I am curious about. Most of the posts I read were about club-->taxi---> bed.
Thanks for everything I will definitely be a frequent poster here. By all means I do not want to contribute to the chica inflation that alot of you guys have been complaining about so, TEACH MY YOUR MONGERING WAYS! HAHAH We are all in this together. HAppy hunting!

Sounds like the same damn elevator from the hotel my buddy and I went to at Rosarito beach in Mexico, old with key to punch in the floor I bet. We had to tip the hotel staff and security to let chicas in, it was bad. Well this is good news. I heard about the walking, thing is I will attach everything to my hiking backpack. It has a metal frame and has a locked in attachment so if they take the backpack they are taking me too (hope that does not happen) Any good ideas on where to hide my money and how much to walk around with and when? Thanks again guys.
The jak
The elevator is quite modern and the card thing is so no one except a client can get in as it opens almost onto Florida. Don't worry, no one is going to physically try to rob you but as Florida can be VERY busy, you put down a bag, turn around and almost as if by magic it's gone. If it's strapped to your back it's going to be safe!
A money belt offers certain safety from sticky fingers. Once at the hotel, there is a safe in the room and going out just carry a few hundred on you. Leave the rest plus your passport and ticket in the hotel safe. Don't be paranoid, just don't do anything you wouldn't do at home. Easy eh;)
I will be in town on the 2nd of October. If anyone wants to join me for dinner, I will be at the l'Alliance at 9 pm or maybe before.

I am making my first visit to Buenos Aires on the third and final leg of a three-country trip. I arrive Thursday November 22 and I am staying in a one-bedroom apartment on Florida Ave. While in BA, I plan to sight-see, check-out the "apartments," check-out Anchorena swing club, and drink.
I have been to the Dominican Republic (a lot), Brazil, Cuba, and Colombia. Also, I post occassionally to Jackson's other site, "InternationalSexGuide. Com"

Hello to all.
Thanks for admitting me to this community. Wednesday Oct.10 is my arrivial to Bs As and will be in Argentina for 10 days. I have been there since a couple of years and only now have found your page on interent. It was quite interesting to read all the comments and experiences which in some parts I can share.
Regulary I stay in the little nice Hotel on Esmeralda, between Cordoba and Viamonte. Cafe Excedra is near and one of my favourite places.
Maybe Friday or Saturday evening I have chance to meet somebody of the community.
Spanish language for me is no problem, accent free.
See you arround in Bs As.
Greg
Greg,
I'm staying in the microcenter area too. I believe myself and two other guys from this forum are meeting up Friday. If interested in joinin up with us, just let me know. Sounds like your Spanish and experience would be a welcome asset. Couple of us are newbies.
Biggie
Biggie,.
Received your PM.
Friday night will be OK at the ESQUINA of BS AS (EXCEDRA)
Greg
The easiest place to meet someone is at the l'Alliance restaurant. Say at 10pm. 945 Cordoba. It is a small place, but the food is good and the price is cheap. It is close to the Exedra. The owners knows most of us mongers.
It is next to the big rip off restaurant, the one with the bull in the door way.
It gets very crowded on Friday at Exedra.
WorldTravel69
Thanks for the Info.
Try to be there at 22:00 hrs, but I'm not sure, as I don't know exactly my business plan for Friday and if we have dinner after work.
See you there.
