Roberto, Yes, that's the place and I can confirm that after nine pm there are at least a few dozen girls in there and that most of them do a striptease so you can see EXACTLY what you'll be getting under or over the covers. For an off-Recoleta experience I recommend it highly and you seem to be agreeing with that evaluation. The few nights I was there I saw more than a few girls that I'd enjoy being with although I went with the same one two nights in a row since I loved how she turned me on by getting down to a bbbj in the shower even before we made it to the bedroom. I recommend that guys that want to check out this place speak at least passable Spanish since there don't seem to be any English speaking chicas there. DownBA

Hi All,
I've been a reader of the guide for some time, and decided to join my amigo EZY over here as well.
As a way of introduction, let me back track a bit. About mid 1999, business started taking me to BA three to four times each month for almost two years straight. It was then that I developed a close friendship with Ricardo and Adriana, the owner and webmistriss of www.platynum.com.ar and www.escorts-argentina.com. I loved the ladies of BA so much, and the city as well, that I was inclined to write my BA report that many of you have seen on TSM, CH, and XTN. The report was set up to provide help to first time visitors to BA, to get as much enjoyment out of their initial visit as possible. The report is updated as conditions change.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here, and am happy to share the exchange of information as it pertains to BA.

Moondog!
Welcome to this board. We are lucky to have you as well as Ezy. You two are the two single biggest influences of me visiting BA. I know that Moondog shares my love of Buenos Aires and all that it has to offer.
Moondog, i've been reading your posts for a long long time and you're a true gentleman. I'm glad you're on the board. I know you take time to post on several boards and I know I speak for everyone when I say thank you!
Good luck.
-
Moondog, could you paste a copy of your Buenos Aires Faq? I have never been there and would be interested in reading it here. Thanks.
-
Are there any $30 a night hotels in Recoleta? I don't mind something a little less fancy as long as you can bring the girls there without a problem. Any help would be appreciated. It seems that staying close to the action is the best thing to do. Also are there any Internet links with maps of the Recoleta area?
-
Saint, thanks for the nice words. Ezy is a good friend.
Dosequis, I really do not have a set of FAQ. If you have questions, ask them here and they will get answered.
-
Welcome to ezy and moondog :)
-
dosequis...$30 per night in the heart of Recoleta will be hard to do....try the link suggested by Saint and speak to Mayra about apartments. She has one that is well located and goes for $35 per night.
You say you want to be close to the action....Actually, there are two centers of action...Recoleta and downtown or the Microcenter....$30 per night is doable downtown close to the action....The Lancaster Hotel is on the corner of Reconquista and Cordoba, about a block from Cafe Orleans one direction and a block from Cutty Sark in the other direction.....http://www.lancasterhotelpage.com
Since you want an inexpensive hotel you are probably a budget minded monger....If so, I have found downtown to be less expensive for both drinks and chicas than Recoleta.....
good luck....
-
Moondog....Welcome amigo!!!!
Saint: A little over a year ago I was trying to decide on a new mongering destination....I was thinking about Cuba, Costa Rica, Colombia or Argentina....One look at Moondog's report and pix and I was packing my bags for Buenos Aires!!!!
After my first trip I wrote that Argentina was expensive and worth every penny I had spent. That was before devaluation of the peso. Nowadays Argentina is an incredible bargain and the thoughts I once entertained about other destinations are distant memories. Truth be known, most of the thoughts I entertain these days center on BsAs...my life in the states is spent planning for my next trip and exploring ways to live in Argentina months rather than weeks at a time....
I already have tickets in hand for trips number 6 and 7 to Buenos Aires....and with air fares as low as they are right now, I may soon pull the trigger on trip number 8......
Credit (or blame depending upon your perspective) goes to Moondog.....
-
citydude: Gracias....I am glad to discover another venue for discussing my favorite activity in my favorite city.....
-
Citydude and Ezy, thanks. Glad to be here.
-
Thanks moondog. I am not really on a budget but I'd rahter save my money for the women. I don't need luxurious accomodations. I didn't really mean a FAQ. You mentioned you have posted elsewhere a post to help beginners. I wouldn't mind reading that here. Could you copy and paste it?
What exactly is Cafe Orleans and Cutty Sark? Are there more bars to pick up chicas or are they regular bars? Are all the women available?
I am not big on escort services and I would rather go where you can pick up women that will go to your hotel for a price. Or at least go to a place where you see the women first. I prefer to dance, drink and talk first. Sex later. Where do you suggest? In these type of clubs do all the women go up and are there women that are just there to hang out. I am not fluent but I do speak more than enouh Spanish to get by.
-
Dosequis and other newbies:
Take the time to go back and read all the posts from early this year. I can bet all your questions will be answered. Just about everything you could ever need to know about is answered in this forum or in the archives. This is a very active board and information is current. If guys are taking the time to report, take the time to go back and read.
Remember this is a FREE board. My parents always told me that there's nothing free in life but I gotta tell you.... this board is the closest thing to it.
Good luck.
-
Dosequis,
My report that is constantly updated is only posted on other boards, and will not be posted here. They are pay sites or invitation only. If you want further details, email me at: moondog@zonaroja.net.
I agree with Saint, as the answers can be found in the archives, and there is a ton of information on these subjects.
Cafe Orleans is a normal cafe, but has the added benefit of beautiful and not so beautiful working girls sitting around the cafe as well. It is best during the normal work week, during afternoons.
Cutty Sark is a bar just around the corner from Cafe Orleans, and has the girls for take out. They open early evening.
-
I agree with Saint...for detail scroll back....but by way of introduction:
There are two primiary areas for Gringos seeking pay-for-play in BsAs: Downtown (Microcenter, Retiro areas) and Recoleta, an affluent area 5-10 minutes from downtown. Recoleta is more a residential area, downtown the business hub.
In downtown there are several pay for play clubs where all the girls are available to take to a short time hotel or to your hotel. Cutty Sark is the oldest chica bar in Buenos Aires, and is located between Cordoba and Paraguay on Reconquista. Cutty opens about 4:00 to cater to the after work crowd of Argentinos. It remains open until the wee hours of the morning. Not many chicas at either 4pm or 4 am though....best selection 8:30PM-1:00AM
Cafe Orleans is one of the strangest places I have seen...looks like a cafe and is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner...but there are a number of free-lance chicas sitting around with cell phones on the table waiting for a call from regulars or for you to pick them up....Orleans is located on Cordoba at the corner of San Martin.
Keep going 4 blocks or so straight on down Cordoba walking away from Puerto Madero and toward 9 de Julio until you hit Suipacha and turn right. In the 900 block you will find 4 more chica clubs, Hook, Ness, Cattos and Pipers. These places don't start to rock until about 11 PM.
If you don't like what you see in downtown, grab a cab and say, "La Recoleta, por favor." 10 minutes and 4-5pesos later you will be deposited more than likely at the corner of Vincente Lopez and Junin. Take a right on Junin....on your left you will pass a club that says Newport....The chicas here are available....keep going a block or so to Guido and take a right....on the opposite side of the street about half way down the block are a couple of more clubs, Afairre and Closers....again, all the chicas here are available.
If you are such a picky bastard that you still haven't taken a chica home, retrace your steps to the corner where the cab driver let you off, and head right....follow the sidewalk that runs beside the high concrete wall...which hides a cemetary....On the other side of the cemetary you can either turn right on Azcuenaga, where you will find Solid Gold and a little further up the street Playwomen, or continue straight ahead on Vincente Lopez where you will find severa more clubs, including Sodoma....(Doncha just love the names of some of these clubs? Sodom...and Playwomen For You are my favorite club names, though not my favorite clubs....) All of the Recoleta clubs are late night venues...
There are other clubs scattered around these two parts of town and in other barrios...there are also a few massage places here and there....but this list is of clubs are clustered more or less together...and should keep the first time visitor very busy.....
as my friend Moondog says so often....enjoy the life!!!

Your apartment sounds great! Congratulations. I have similar ideas, but you are a few steps ahead of me. I plan to spend about 3plus months per year in BsAs and figured out that I should be able to rent an apartment year round for less than the cost of a hotel for three months....
I will be in BsAs 21-28 October to look for an apartment to lease/purchase. Do you have a reliable, English-speaking realtor and/or lawyer you could recommend?
thanks....and again, cogratulations on scoring an apartment in the nicest city in the world outside of the U.S.

Sorry: Newbie to the Board! This was supposed to say that I'll be in BA 25, 26, 27, and 28 October. E-mail me at Travelman777@yahoo.com if you'd like to get together.

Sodom...and Playwomen For You are my favorite club names, though not my favorite clubs....)
-------
How come you don't mention Blacks...and what's your favorite club?
-
I was trying to list clubs that were bunched together and easy for the first timer to find....Black is slightly out of the way, unless you are staying in the Alvear Palace....Some folks consider Black's the creme del la creme of BsAs clubs...but the chicas I have made contact with seem a bit more professional (read:jaded) than girls from other clubs....
My favorite clubs? Well. things change a good bit from one visit to the next and from one night to the next, but overall I have found more chicas to pleasure me in the downtown clubs....less noise and less pressure overall.....My chica favorita works in Cutty Sark, but the overall quality is not as good in Cutty as in Hook in my experience...Another positive about the downtown clubs is that the salida paid to the bar is less....one drink mandatory for you, one for her...whereas in Afairre and the other bars one drink each buys an hour or an hour and a half...additional time costs more...
This having been said, I have taken home some great women from virtually all of the clubs except Black.....
-
And yet I just received an email from another guy whe took home a beauty(his words), and she stayed until the afternoon. So it is hit and miss, but Black girls sometimes need an attitude adjustment.....smile.

I just want to echo what Saint had to say. I'll be heading to BA next month on my first trip, and I've taken the time to read everything posted on this site, and one other. The archives are a wealth of information, most of the places are the same, and the prices are discussed in depth. Just remember, that prior to January of this year the peso was pegged to the dollar which make Argentina an incredibly affordable destination compared to a year ago.
Also, a big thanks to Moondog, Ezy, and Saint for all of the detailed reporting that paves the way for the rest of us.

Second the e-motion
I know this is a superfuous post but you guys and others - and of course our jefe Jackson - have been simply great. Keep it coming. I promise I will return the info with my info when I arrive in BA in the very near future.
-
IMHO, all these clubs are hit or miss sometimes. In May they were all great. In early September many of the clubs were sub-par. My favorite last time if you read my reports you'll know was Playwoman. I think I "visited" with 5 chicas from there my first trip alone. This trip I only saw one from there.
There is no arguing that you'll pay more money at Black's. However, I don't think it's too far out of the way. Ezy is right....it is right near Alvear Palace. I doubt many of us stay at that hotel often. I am definitely planning to stay there early next year. I want to blow it out and stay in BA in style one trip. I went in there and it was one of the best hotels I've been to. I'm a member of the Leading Hotels of the World club and of course Alvear Palace is part of that distinguished group.
Black's almost always has some hotties in it. Kick Stand and I went in last time with UWPhoto and Latasian and I was ready to spend some dough but all the chicas I wanted to see didn't look as good up close. It's hit or miss just like every other club but if you can speak Spanish I think you'll have an easier time. Last trip I saw two girls from Black's. One girl was an older Brittany Spear's looking girl. Her name back then was Celia. She was a cutie and the session was good. I paid 300 pesos for a short time visit (exchange rate back then was 3.1 to $1 US). Admittedly I probably paid more than i should have but at least I negotiated..at first she wanted 500 pesos!! She was still working there as of 2 weeks ago. I saw her when I went to the bathroom and she came up to me and said hi. She remembered me.
I talked to my amiga friend today on the phone. She works at Shampoo off and on. She told me that several chicas are planning to go to Cancun to work in January. It was really interesting to hear the dyamics of how things work. She is very good about providing answers when I ask her questions about the clubs. The owner of Shampoo also owns Shampoo in Cancun. She told me that if girls are hot, he will pay for them to fly to Cancun, will pay for their apartment (but like 5-6 girls have to all share one small apartment). Any of you that have also been to Cancun know how expensive it is. I was there in December/January of last year and the going rate for a hottie was $200 - $250 US for 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours. Yes, you read that right. These girls can go there for 3 or 4 months and BANK!!
She plans on working 4 months in Cancun and retiring forever. For her sake I hope she does it. Nice girl. At least she had good things to say about the owner of Shampoo. Apparently the owner of Black's is a real creep.
I never had luck at Cafe Orleans. The times I went in I was scared because the girls were so foul. After like the 3rd time striking out I just have given up on that place. I've always had pretty good luck with the internet and will continue to use it. Then again I have seen some pictures of some hotties that Moondog has hooked up with. (Maybe that is what keeps me going back.....I'm always on the quest for that 'gem'). Incidentally, Moondog is also the guy that told me about Sandy--- the hottie I had the pleasure to visit with alone and with her friend, Gema. Damn life is good. Thanks again buddy.
I'm gonna go crazy in November. I plan to hit all the clubs and try to find some super hotties. The anticipation is killing me. I bet I don't make it till my November trip before I go down again. As some dude posted earlier.... pray for me... LOL!

i remember we had a quick discussion about an internet girl -
barbarella/janet/agata (man, enough aliases already).
well, i live in south beach, and with the columbus day regatta coming up, i was helping a friend with some miami-based escort web sites (too expensive for me to hobby here - $400+/hr), and she pops up (as andrea) with a local number!
http://www.eros-miami.com/sections/escortsbrunette.htm
-> andrea.
so, what's up with that? think the miami place just stole her pix for filler? or they would pay a bait & switch on me if it tried to meet here? i called, but they never called me back...
-
Leo,
Never assume anything when it comes to a girl wanting to make money. I talked to a few girls from the internet sites that come to the US whenever they can to make some big time dinero. I also talked to some chicas from the clubs that have a visa and routinely get flown in by clients.
Yes, it could be a case of someone lifting the girls picture but there is just as good a chance she has a visa and is gonna work here. I believe Barbarella holds a Brazillian passport and not one from Argentina so it might be easier for her to get a visa.
I do disagree with posting the link to her ad. It could make it dangerous for her. (I'm not saying she is doing anything illegal because anyone knows it is totally legal to pay a girl for dinner) but probably not smart to start posting links for girls that aren't citizens. If anyone sees it....it could cause big problems for her and her visa could be permanately blocked from entering the USA in the future).
In fact, if that is the case...Jackson might want to delete both of our posts.....JMHO.
-
leo....
Ask a semi-intelligent girl from Platynum whether she would rather earn $400 pesos por toda la noche in BA or $400USD per (1400plus pesos) per hour in Miami. Guess what she's gonna say? Portenas are beautiful, but they aren't stupid....if they have a Visa to enter the US and just a little bit of savy....they will work stateside for a short time and then go back home. Happens a lot.
I met a very fine young woman last year in BA who advertized on Platynum....This year she is in the good old USA....I believe she even has an airline credit card so she can wrack up ff miles....
More power to her! My biggest fear is that she will lose her BA attitude and pick up the attitude of the majority of US providers. This would be a shame in her case.
She was probably the single best provider I have ever seen....hot looking and eager to do just about anything imagineable.....not to put too fine a point on it, she offered me a BBBJ to completion....and just as the moment approaches she shoves her index finger up my ass....I lose it....wave after wave of love potion into her eagerly awaiting mouth...she removes her finger, smiles at me and swallows...taking time to lick her lips....
Here's hoping she doesn't lose her eagerness to please during her stay in the good old USA.....

So would a good plan of action for a newbie be to get a Matrimonial suite (looks like it has one big bed) foraoround $30-35 and hit the downtown area clubs?
How safe is walking the BA downtown area after midnight? This areas sounds like a good start for me as a newbie than hitting Recoleta first. If it's slow then I can hit the Recoleta clubs. I would much rather go to clubs where working girls are versus using escort services. I like to see and talk to any woman first to get a true vibe.
What is the Lancaster Hotels "guest" policy? And is their any problem getting a Recoleta working girl to go to the Lancaster? Thanks for all your help.
-
2 major hobbyists, middle aged, will be in BA 11/12-11/24, staying in Recoleta. Been everywhere else, but never BA. We speak Spanish. Fun guys, non-smokers, not big partiers. If you are an experienced BA monger, can we buy you dinner and get some tips and trade war stories? Read all the posts, but comparing notes in person is fun! chuponalgas@yahoo.com
PS: anyone met YASMIN at PLATYNUM?

Whether it is worth it is totaly up to you and how you interact with the girl, and what value you put on that interaction.
www.escorts-argentina.com and www.platynum.com.ar are not agencies, but rather webhosting services for the independent girls to put their names and photos up for all to see. The owners are as nice and honest as can be. Adriana, the webmistriss, can help you with a selection on www.escorts-argentina.com. That is totally wysiwyg.

taking a girl out for a week is not uncommon :) you have to have had a rapport with her previously. Currently the pesos/EU/USD makes Argentina the best value for import.
I invited one for over a week, and had a rum time. She got to see London and Paris, and I got thoroughly laid :)

Dosequis,
My favorita who works just down the street in Cutty Sark tells me Lancaster is chica friendly. Here is how I normally confirm: When you make your reservation by email or by phone tell them that while you are traveling alone you would like to reserve a room/suite for two because you have several "amigas" who may visit you and you don't want any problems.....if there is a problem they will tell you....again, my favorita is in a position to know and she says there is not a problem here.....Be sure to ask for a promotional rate or discount for....a stay of more than several days or whatever...the reservationists have a lot of latitude at this hotel....I got a quote from some of the web sites, then phoned the hotel told them the rate I had been quoted and asked if I could get a room for a lower price by booking direct...."Por Supesto" was the reply....so you can probably get a suite for the price of a double by negotiating a little....and use the money you save to bring back an extra chica....
The rate they quoted me was 90pesos for a junior suite, 110 for a senior suite, 70 for a double....I didn't ask about the matrimonial suite...Another tact is to tell them you met a guy who recommended the hotel and told you he paid these prices and you would like to reserve a room if the same rates are still in effect......90p is 25-26 per night....that's with tax and breakfast included.....so even if you pay a little more for a shorter stay (these rates were for a week) you should stay within your budget......
FWIW, I found an apartment for my week in BA in October,so I will not actually stay at the Lancaster....but I would like to try it out one of these days....I like hotels with character....and that are inexpensive....
re: saftety....personally, I would not have a problem walking from the Lancaster to either Cutty Sark or Orleans...both a only a block or so away....for the clubs on Suipacha or certainly to Recoleta, I would take a taxi at night. TDuring the day it is safe enough to walk around and explore. There is a taxi stand on the Reconquista side of the Lancaster. You can take a Taxi to Suipacha for the minimum of 2pesos....or to Recoleta for about 5 pesos....
About a block from the Lancaster is the Galeria Pacifica....a large, covered shopping mall. In the basement is a food court with lots of restaurants with low-priced meals....some very good restaurants in town have faster food venues here......worth trying....also Che Bleu is a small restaurant on Paraguay....keep going past Cutty Sark, take a left on Paraguay until you come to the restaurant....the food is good and inexpensive....If you show up about 9PM it also has the advantage of being a favorite of many of the girls who work at Cutty Sark...so you may be able to see some of the chicas in a brighter light....
hope this helps

"If you are an experienced BA monger, can we buy you dinner and get some tips and trade war stories?"
Has anyone considered putting together a Field Guide for Buenos Aires? The problem for a newcomer with a limited stay is that there is so much information here to sift through, and it is a huge city. You have to be squared away a bit before you come. After going back thru the vast number of reports and jotting down addresses, you then have to pore over maps to find streets, etc.
Had a succinct guide been available before my recent trip, I would most certainly have bought one. It might include a breakdown of joints by category with reviews, lists of webpages, maps, etc.
I was also wondering if Jackson has considered some sort of facility for video clips on the site. Not of people doing it, but of the inside of some of the chica-filled places discussed here. That would really help people pre-visualize things here.
Referring to the price list someone provided below, I had an excursion to Iguazu Falls (airfare, hotel with meals, tours of both sides); a City tour; a Tigre tour, and a Tango/dinner show all for USD 220. Iguazu was really stunning, and Marcela at Camuniaviajes.com seems to know how to get the good prices.
To look good for the ladies, I had a designer haircut for USD 2.50

Hello from Moscow (still a vile, wretched, evil place!)
TWO POINTS OF BUSINESS:
1) I'm traveling to Hong Kong and Vietnam on Business next month but plan to make a side trip to Thailand (Pattaya and BKK) so all my BA brothers, please stay tuned to the Thailand Board for my exhaustive reports (I will try to be "Saint-like" in the thoroughness of my posts).
2) To Jackson, Saint, et all--I finally have managed to fanagle a divorce from my wife. Sad yes, but fortunately we have no children and we were both miserable, so this is a very good thing. I'm in my forties and want to live my life. And the last several years with the ball and chain have truly been like prison (ironically I like my wife as a person) In short, DO NOT EVER GET MARRIED BOYS! IT IS A DEAD END AND FINANCIAL SUICIDE....Be that as it may, I'm turning the page and going to enjoy the rest of my days on this earth....Which brings me to my next point. I'm going to take the plung and put my money where my mouth is and purchase a large Recoleta apartment this December. Will be looking to buy a luxury, doorman 3/4 bedroom and drop somewhere around 100-150K (a colleague "on the ground" recently married, purchased a lovely 2 BEDROOM apartment in BA (between Recoletta & Palermo) for 45K--he is from NYC and claims that the same place in Manhattan right now, would go for 600K.
As much as I find it unseemly to be a robber barren and capitalize on the ravaged economy--the fact remains that I LOVE BA and I truly want to retire there (and plan on visiting it 2/3 times per yer until I do; frequent flyer miles on United make this feasable--I only pray that UA doesn't go belly up/or cut back on their international routes). Furthermore, I (almost) want to say that I my decision to buy an apartment has nothing to do with the hobby. THE CITY IS AMAZING and I just have to believe that eventually (even 10 years down the road) the economy is going to turn around and right itself. Realistically speaking, the peso seems to have stabalized (albeit on the floor) at roughly 3.6 to the dollar. To me, that means that things probably have bottomed out, and can not go any lower. Thus, the optimum time to buy is now (hopefully).
So--LA Larry will also have a furnished residence that I will be "selectively" renting out to starting in January. (I don't fancy the idea of turning my home into a brothel, but here and there, I'll be happy to accomodate responsible brothers for their stays in BA).
More details to follow. Stay tuned....
-
How are the police in Buenos Aires? Are they into the bribe thing like Mexcio? Or are they more like the police in the US?
-
LA Larry....if you find a good English-speaking Realtor...post the information...I am thinking about a lease/purchase in the Recoleta/Barrio Norte area...although I am looking for something smaller, a one or two bedroom apartment works for me as long as it is in a secure building and relatively new or restored...
-
LA Larry,
Congratulations on the divorce amigo. Sounds like the best option for both of you. I hope you can still afford your BA apartment post divorce. I know mine drained me dry. But your happiness is what matters. Life is great...you just gotta live it.
I think a lot of guys are going to be buying property down there. I talk to a few dudes every week that are looking to buy. I myself would rather rent than buy right now but if I found a good deal on a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment I'd think about it.
Like Ezy posted, PLEASE anyone post if you find a reliable realtor in BA. I'm sure we could keep him/her busy.
Again, congrats amigo.
