FUCK ME, was my thoughts after only 4 hours in BA. I a newbie in BA, but have rode the babes of around the world. After a late dinner with friends it was time to explore, even though it was 2 am. I think it was a little too late on a friday because my usual haunts (yes, even Hook) were busy and No Talent available. So a trip to Madaho was in order.
Madaho use to be one of my favorites, but is beginning to slip into the category of Black's for me. Even though they treat me well there and there is some quality to be had, the prices are getting steep and the experience not what it use to be or what I prefer.
Prices are 25p for my beer, 50p (times 2) for the lady and I was quoted 300p for the encounter. I want to second MM on his posting about Madaho. The place is becoming increangly demanding and would deserve a sharp decline in business to learn a lesson. I have to agree with the Mouse! Madahos has become a place to avoid now that they have raised the chica drink prices to $50-$80 and the girls have decided their pussies are made of platinum (as opposed to platynum!)

This happened to me with a Madahos girl last month. It happened to Capt. Dave and now Nuevo Espanol. It seems there is a pattern emerging. They are asking for higher prices 300 peso or $100 USD. They 're lying about the amount time they'll spend with you then coming with some lame excuse to cut out early. Finally, they are asking to be paid up front.

In my case I thought it was just an isolated case, however with the number of mongers who are reporting the same story, it appears this is organized.

I agree with Capt Dave, boycott Madahos. The Recoleta scene, with the exception of the diamond in Newport or Affaire, is overpriced and overrated, in my opinion.

Take you business to Hook, Ness or Cattos or blaze a new trail. I reported last month that a group of us mongers, including Andreas, had stopped off at Rio Cabana. There was some hot young talent there. I definately plan on checking this place out on my next trip.

I wonder sometimes what percentage of the guys in Madahos are WSG readers. Your post resonated with me, and I think Jackson was the one, not to long ago, that infered that this was the type of thing that the power of the forum should be able to exert (okay, I think it was about the Hooks counterfeit A$100 and the rip-off waiter).
Things seem to be quickly deteriorating at Madahos. The post I made a month ago, about my amiga telling me the management said no leaving with a gringo for under US$100, seems to be coming on(along with more crappy chica attitudes). The posts from MM on describe a situation that is getting out of control. I think a boycott for a period of time is worthwhile - stop in for awhile to be verbal about the stories we're hearing and then walk out letting it be known why you're leaving and how you don't like the place anymore. I think enough word would get around pretty quickly. I'm even thinking about mentioning to my amiga on the phone next time (the one who works at Madahos) how a lot of guys are complaining that they are going to give up on the place(and the reasons why).
Anybody have any ideas on what our clout could be if we make a point of making noise in any way possible?

It was good to meet you, and I had a blast hanging out with you. In my opinion, for a first visit you did it right.

As for Madahos, I began my boycott during my last trip and I didn't miss a thing. I believe that the management there is trying to compete with Black in the upscale market without the benefit of being located accross the street from the Alvear. I just wonder if el Jefe would support a boycott of the place.

I agree with Madaho's being past it's glory. My experience there a month ago was not good. I could have just been in Black. I didn't pull even one girl out of there. The problem, each and every girl wouldn't go for less than $100. Whatever. Looking back they did me a favor. I found greener pastures elsewhere. It's funny. I had a similar experience in Feb. when I was out with el jefe. He had advised me that the going rate was 200 pesos. I targeted a woman that I sawand talked with her until the point that she didn't have to return that night. She would not budge from 300 pesos.

I didn't want to pay that since that was more than I ever paid in BA, and I didn't want to look like a punk in front of el jefe, so we didn't seal the deal.

I feel better that it wasn't just me, but it's a shame this place operates like this now.

I wonder if $50-$80 pesos for the drinks (ridiculous) is just for gringos or for locals as well.

Till then, let me remind you fellows about the amount of money some of you are pissing and moaning about: The difference between 200 and 300 pesos is exactly 33 dollars.

I'll bet a lot of the problems encountered here have more to do with personal hygene, lack of Spanish fluency and unfamiliarity with the art of negotiating than with any price-fixing conspiracy with the Madaho's trixies.

The last time I was in Madaho's, as a matter of fact, I NEVER discussed price with the girlie I ended up drilling. I just left 220 pesos in her purse when she was ready to leave. And I know she had a smile on her face, too. I have no doubt that next week, she'll be on me like a bee on a flower (or a fly on shit! ;)).

There is much more to mongering than price.

I don't look at it like 'it's just 33 dollars'. I look at it like 50% over the going price. If I can't afford an extra 33 dollars, then I wouldn't be travelling to BA in the first place. But I don't want to pay 50% over the going price just because someone thinks I'm a sap.

I think the attitude that 'it's just 33 dollars' is what gets prices raised in a place like Madahos in the first place.

Min, if price is what's important to you, then you should know there are places in Buenos Aires where you can bust a nut for 30 pesos. I stand by what I said in my last post.

You didn't understand what I wrote. In my post I didn't say price was important for me. I said it's paying over the going rate that I refuse to do. Similarly, if the going price was 300 pesos, I would have paid it. There would be no reason for me to pay 450 pesos in that case.

Frankly, the going rate is what the chica you want is asking for at the moment and your decision is whether to pay it or not. I have travelled with friends that refused to pay a girl her asking price and then regretted it later and couldn't get the girl to go with them on another night for the previously asked price. Ultimately, the only gauge is what you can afford and what you are willing to pay. I don't buy the argument that if one girl is able to fleece someone and get them to pay an outrageous fee then all of the other girls will raise their prices the next day. Some girls will ask for a high price initially and then give you the real price when you balk. They are just trying to get top dollar for their product like every business person in the world does. Every businessman in the world who "tries to get top dollar for his product" slept through the part of Econ 101 where they discussed price elasticity of demand and maximizing total revenue. And since the marginal cost of pussy is exactly zero, revenue equals profit and the revenue maximizing price is also the profit maximizing price. Not only that but the inventory is perishable on a nightly basis, similar to an airplane taking off with empty seats. All these factors put the [b]monger and not the chica[/b] in the driver's seat when it comes to price negotiations.

I have never rated the chicks at Madahos as so great. They are in general too skinny and bimboish for my taste. Although the place is definitely worth a look in, just because of the size of the place, number of chicks, the show etc, the last time I was there I think there as only 1 lady I fancied, and she wanted 200 peso, which to my mind is overpriced, she wasn't that great! I usually pay between 60 peso and 100 for an internet chick, and the most I have ever paid was 150 peso fro a chick I took back from a Suipacha club. 100 peso may only be 33 dollars, but it all adds up, simple, so the less you pay, the more fun you can have for longer without damaging your bank balance.

And that would be the " The Marginal Propensity To Consume ". For example if the Monger was Tired, Drunk or had just gotten Laid minutes before the demand would be deminished by some X factor and price and quality would be less of an object. Exon, what you refer to is not marginal propensity to consume but diminishing marginal returns. Marginal propensity to consume has to do with the decision to save your money or spend it (on anything) and is one reason why the risk free rate of interest is (edit starts here) above zero; in other words, marginal propensity to consume is an element of the time value of money (end edit). [Originally I said, "this is why the risk free rate of interest is normally above the inflation rate"; that is wrong and makes no sense. I was thinking one thing and typing something else = brain cramp. DH]. Most people prefer consumption over investment and thus must be given an incentive to save. Diminishing marginal returns says that the tenth doughnut has less value to you then the ninth doughnut, which had less value than the eighth doughnut, etc. But you were close so I will give you a B minus.

Another economic factor that applies is "cartelization." An example of this would be all Madaho's chicas banding together and agreeing not to go with gringos for less than 300 pesos. But as we know from watching the OPEC oil cartel, most cartels tend to be ineffective due to cheating on the part of the cartel members.
