I went to Florida street and picked out a real nice leather jacket. I decided to wear it while I continued walking around. Well, like a fool, I wandered away from Florida street around the back of Galleria Pacifico. I suddenly felt stuff hitting my back and head. It was some yellowish goop that stunk. Immediately a guy came up and wanted to clean my jacket but I must have looked pissed because he suddenly took off when I turned to face him.

Once I examined my jacket I realized that he had thrown the stuff on me. It came off my head easily in the shower but my new leather jacket is ruined. So watch out.

I had someone throw crap on my shoe here in Rio last week. I wish it was mustard, but instead was some sort of paint / petroleum based yellow crap. I knew it was a setup, and started yelling at the shoeshine guy who *immediately* noticed it on my shoe. At least the shoes were old.

You've got to expect that when you wear something nice. Usually when I am in Brazil I wear old clothes and no watch and no camera. I just try to look "not so well off". Buenos Aires is a good place to monger. The Palermo, Recoleta and Microcenter (Florida street) are great places to browse around. The women are great. They are different from Copacabana women but still great. If you are into slim, european looking women hit BA. If you are into darker women with more curves like J Lo, hit Rio.

Hi,

I'll be in BA in January and wanted to find out how hot it gets. I know that it gets to around 90f in the days, does it typically get hotter than that? Does it cool off in the evenings much? How is the humidity. I grew up in Texas so some heat doesn't bother me much. I mainly need to know if I need to get a / c in the apartment that I rent or if fans will work ok.

I'd also like to find out if anyone knows about any public pools in BA. The last time I was there someone told me that the pools are a good place to go during the day, and I swim regularly anyway, so if anyone has any info on pools, maybe somewhere where the locals go, that would be great. Thanks for all help.[/QUOTE]No, all of these areas (Nuevo Estilo is a club, not an area I know of) are neighborhoods in BA and they are all cheap rides awayfrom each other. Flores is a bit further afoot, but Palermo, Recoleta and MC are all short hops on cabs. It's helpful to get a map of the city to get your bearing get a Lonely Planet book to understand.

I am not, relatively speaking, the most experienced guy with the clubs, but the Recoleta places (Madahos, Black) generally charge for entrance, where the Microcenter places don't. I have never paid a fee to get into Black, but it seems that Madahos last I went charges everyone (being a friend of Jackson doesn't carry the weight it once did)

The only club that I have heard of where you have sex onsite is the club in Flores. Otherwise, you're taking out.

Okay, so if its take out, I imagine they make money on drinks. Are these drinks forced on you, like a hidden entrance fee. Places like Palermo, Microcenter and so on are just different sections of the city, like SOHO and Midtown of New York City. Most sections of Buenos AIres have a few places in each section so you can pick an area and work it for awhile. You should check out the section in this forum that has all the location of clubs so you can choose wisely. You can take the girls out with you and to your hotel or a hotel nearby which usually costs around 25-50 pesos for an hour or two. The girls know of local hotels in the area so don't worry about that part. Touts or whatever they are called are guys who will try to give you a card or direct you into there club. You can ask what is the story and they will "of course" say their girls are the best in the city. With the card they give you you usually get a free drink or three drinks with the entrance fee or combo of this. You can ask them can I take a quick look inside, and usually they will be happy to oblidge you. One or two places will insist on moneyfor entrance. Once in a while it doesn't hurt to go in have a drink and look around. When I first started my ***** mongering I just liked looking around and soaking in all the stares. Some places are high end prices such as Black and Shampoo, middle tier are Affaire, sodoma, places on Vincent Lopez and near Village recoleta (movie theatre / mall) or the cementary. There is the triangle of three places on Suipacha downtown. I think 921 Suipacha) All three place are lower tier around 150 pesos for one or two hours. I recommend starting here for a first timer to get your feet wet. Low pices, decent girls, and no cover charge. Most places need you to pay for one drink for a girl before you can take her out. These places are not high pressure at all. If a girl does approach and talk to you they will eventually ask for a drink but you can kindly say whatever you want and they will leave. DO Not settle! I recently spent a week in Rio - had to return to Australia via LA via Wash DC via BA - so due to shitty flight scheduling found myself with 10hrs in BA airport - or 7hrs to tour BA.
