I want to say that the only reason why I flamed is because Leo & friends had their "casting call" (due quotes in place) ar artsuites, that for many of us is kind of a special place. Maybe be they didn't knew, but the management already said that "too many unannounced guests cause problems and may cause the policy to change". I don't want this to happen.
All the rest Leo said makes sense, I appreciate that he reiterates the message about Blacks and the other info. At the same time I agree 100% with Slick1 and Saint about their views on a kosher approach to monging.
I used sarcasm to make my message stronger, but really there was nothing personal. I'm not posting my email now, because I haven't choosen yet the appropriate channel.

I just wanted to add one post script. The Thursday night I was in Black, the talent was plentiful. I saw several 8-9's, and left with one after negotiating down, but still over paying in my opinion. This was the only time I felt I overpaid. On average I paid less than 100 pesos per hour of quality time with a beautiful and friendly girl. Do the math, can't find that where I live. On the Saturday night I was in Black, it was as dead as the other clubs, and I didn't stick around to see what the asking price was. I think the girls in Black continue to charge outrageous prices, because we think to ourselves "what the hell, it's only a 150 or 200 bucks" to sleep with a 9 for a few hours. I won't make the same mistake on my next trip. I don't know if the numbers reading this board can make a difference in there or not, the place had as many customers as girls when I was there.
Upon reflection, I will return to Black, and see how things are. The talent there overall is slightly better than the other clubs, but I won't pay that much again, and the new Shampoo was my favorite for customer service, and had a couple 9's on different nights. On Thursday night (I think), there was a girl already accompanied, that is the closest thing I've ever seen to a 10 up close. Better than anything I saw in Black.
Just my 2 pesos worth.

Argentina or Costa Rica?
I have to decide this week end where I'm going to go for a fortnight's holiday at the end of this year. I did Costa Rica last year and it was excellent, so I am looking at Argentina this year but will be on a fairly tight budget. I know what Argentinian women look like, and how different they are from the Ticas, Nicas, Columbians etc that you find in SJO, but I have some questions on the general 'scene' in Argentina, which I would be very grateful for any information on;
- most of the action seems to be based around either internet agencies or expensive clubs; Blacks, Platynum, etc, is that correct?
- are there any slightly less high-end bars/clubs, where the girls cost in the US$15-30 range?
- are there places where you can go with the girl on the premises rather than have to go back to your hotel?
- is there any street trade, or a red light district (if so where)?
- what are boliches?
- looking at this website, there seems to be little action outside of BA; is that a fair assessment?
- are there massage parlours and if so are they any good?
- has anyone tried the ads in the Clarion?
- is there any semi-pro, co-ed type action?
Basically I'm trying to build up an overall picture of the whole scene down there, which maybe could be posted in a separate section for newbies like me, so we dont have to keep asking questions like these. I scrolled back a long way but could see much info on these topics. My email is

Avoid BA at all costs between Christmas and about January 6th. The town will be absolutely dead during that time, with many clubs, restaurants, and businesses closed. Even Cafe Orleans is closed during most of that time.
On top of that, most off of the chicas are out of town visiting with their families.
Best bet during that time would probably be Rio.

Fortunately I can be fairly flexible and could probably go the two weeks before Christmas, and possibly even the first 2 weeks in January, so long as I book my vacation time out of the office at the beginning of next week. Yes for tourists or non-Spanish speakers, but the whole experience is broader for Spanish speakers. For instance, there are boliches in Flores, Constitucion, Avellaneda and Liniers that cater to locals, similar to IDEM or 747 in SJO (I went to both places, so I can compare).

Look at my posts about the Flores scene. There, you should find 6-10 places for that money or even less.

Many places in Flores work that way. If you stay in Recoleta, you can try the Affaire branch of Pueyrredon Av an Paraguay St., only 1 mile from the Recoleta Cemetery.

Not Red Districts, but several SW zones: The Flores, Once, Recoleta and Constitucion quarters provide SWs. Look at my previous posts.

Boliche is a very general word that means "shop" or "store" or "disco". A bar could be a boliche, a brothel too. It is also used for low quality service/manufacturing shops.

Not very fair. There is action in the innerland, but the distances and the risks generally don't overcome the benefits. The second "outskirts row" of neighborhoods sorrounding Buenos Aires became really scarying, and crossing it always entails a risk. You would like to go to Mar del Plata in Summer if you want to escape from the asphalt jungle of heat and moist (BA summers are really hot and wet). There is action there and the highway is very safe.

Read my posts of July 2002 and December 2001. I went to a MP in Esmeralda St and Cordoba Av that was acceptable. I think that quality of such places is hit or miss.

I tried several ads in Clarin, but I'm a local and I know which buildings may be safe and which may not be so safe. IMHO, it's a risk for a newcomer to go there (as risky as is going to London's SoHo and picking the wrong place).

I guess that in Corrientes Av (between Callao and 9 de Julio) there should be several girls in coffee shops just expecting a man to pass by after midnight, invite them something and arrange a casual agreement, but I'm not sure.
Moondog hit the nail: BA is semidesertic during the holidays, so it's better that you go to another vacation-like scene.
Personally, I have to go on the holidays, so I have no choice, but I arranged a list ot "must-visit" places and they are more than a dozen, so I have enough fun for 2+ weeks, if I like (some places worth to be visited more than once). Look at my previous posts to find out about them.

Thank you for all your advice. I have looked back at your previous posts (and Ezy's and Saints), and with those and your email below I have most of what I need. I do like the sort of place like 747, Idem, Molino Rojo, Club 40 in SJO as I find the girls more friendly/natural and theres a much better chance of a GFE, than in expensive nightclubs. I also speak Spanish which helps alot in those sort of places. Will also check out Blacks and Platynum etc. but thats probably not my scene. Am going for a couple of weeks so hoping to get out of BA and see Iguazu, Tucuman, Mendoza and Mar del Plata as well as BA, (and watch some football too if possible), so I'll report back from those places on my return.

Just got back in the country tonight and really tired from not really sleeping this weekend.
HNormal, sorry but I don't give out chicas phone numbers. It doesn't matter though. If you go back and read my reports from May and September I wrote the names of all the girls I saw. Buenos Aires is NOT a hard city to hobby in. There is so much action there between the clubs and the internet sites. It is also very very cheap compared to other destinations. I have been to Mexico City the last two weekends and that city is damn expensive and it doesn't have anything compared to BA.

No, you're not crazy. This is a common thing. Why go through a middleman? Utilize www.escortsbaires.com and approach one or more of the girls by phone, email, etc... and arrange the details with them. A lot of the advertisers are available for longer appointments. In fact, some of them would probably welcome such an appointment, in contrast with the quick one-hour appointments they usually get.

In Pesos, the prices are the same as they've been for several years. Before the devaluation, short time was about 150-200 Pesos or Dollars, as they were the same. Now it is 150-300 pesos depending on the length of time or all night, and the cost in U.S. Dollars is 41-82 dollars. A good deal for both sides.

While I rarely have time to enter my own personal travel information after answering email and policing the forum every day, the recent postings herein regarding the prices being asked and paid by fellow travelers to Buenos Aires have compelled me to provide some guidelines on the subject.
I have been traveling to Argentina for several years now, including four trips this year and my current month-long stay. I am intimately familiar with the scene here, including all the clubs and venues mentioned and several others that seem to have escaped the attention of the other posters. I've have several friends here, as well as a number of personal relationships with my favorite girls in most of the clubs and bars. I've also had the opportunity to see first hand the effects of the country's recent economic problems on the attitudes of the people and the chicas.
There are just a few rules to follow when hobbying in Buenos Aires, and if you follow them your experiences will be greatly enhanced.
1. The current acceptable price for a session in your hotel with a chica from any of the night clubs and bars EXCEPT BLACKS (see below) is 150 pesos. This number has held firm for several years, although there is some recent upwards price pressure, and I have been asked for 170 to 180 pesos recently. However, 150 pesos is the price that the vast majority of chicas will accept if you are firm.
2. If you do not want to bargain, you can simply offer them 200 pesos, which should be the price that makes the vast majority of them immediately pleased without further discussion. In the past weeks I've paid 200 pesos to several girls, especially if I knew them and I knew that they would provide good service.
3. Any chica that quotes you anything over 200 pesos, including these 250 peso or even the 300 dollar prices described herein, has sized you up as an idiot American tourist and is in fact insulting you with that offer. On those rare occasions in recent weeks where I was quoted such a price, my reaction is smile quietly and tell the chica to shove off.
4. It's important to know the correct price and to negociate. I've said this before and I'll say it again: The idea behind negotiating is not to get the chica down to the lowest price, the idea is to pay a fair price. In addition, when understanding the Latina mind set, they will respect you if you are firm. Chalk it up to their culture's sense of macho. If you roll over at the first over-priced offer, they will have no respect for you, an attitude that will manifest itself in the quality of your session.
5. Lately, the girls have developed an annoying habit of asking to be paid in advance, many times waiting until they're half undressed and I've got my pants around my ankles. This is a recent development, and I talked with several friends of mine in the business about it. Apparently there has been a trend lately of Argentine men who are claiming poverty at the end of the session. Okay, that's unfortunate, but what's that got to do with me? I'm assuming that my fellow Americans who are visiting Argentina are behaving like gentlemen, and thus wouldn't even consided such reprehensable behavior. Besides, since as a foreigner I'm already paying twice as much as the Argentineans, I'm expecting to be treated with some measure of distinction.
Anyway, I strongly suggest that you always maintain a strict policy of paying when finished, if for no other reason than "sex is always better when I pay afterwards". A couple of times on my recent trip I was confronted with requests for payment in advance, upon which ensued a short discussion that, if failed to produce a resolution, led me to start putting my clothes back on while telling the chica to get dressed and that I would accompany her back to the club. This unprecedented series of events always left the chicas completely speechless, to be followed by an immediate change of heart.
6. If a chica agrees to a price and then starts to change her mind at any time in the process (such as during a cab ride), just tell the driver to turn around and take her back to the club, bar, café, etc.
7. If there is any doubt as to the clarity or domination of the price, and simply as a good policy, ask her to write it down on a piece of paper or napkin, and then specify "pesos" or "USD". Put the paper in your pocket in case there is a dispute later.
8. If a chica quotes you in dollars, insist on pesos, or get another chica.
9. If you are in Blacks, all the above rules are off, but then again, if you are in Blacks you are already making a mistake. Blacks is entirely over-rated, filled with barracudas looking for foreign tourists, and, in spite of the reviews of some posters herein, Blacks DOES NOT have a better selection than the other places in town. Over the years, I've probably gone in there a dozen times with the specific intent to pull a chica out of the place, and every time I've left alone.
10. With some exceptions, the more English a chica knows, the more likely she is try to play you for a tourist, which includes trying to get you to pay more than 200 pesos for a short time session, trying to get raise the price "in transit", trying to ask for more money for "additional services", insisting on a covered BJ, and demanding to be paid in advance, etc.
To be fair, this rule is not absolute, and I've certainly met some very nice chicas who spoke excellent English, but from my personal experiences, many of the ones with good English skills tend to realize that these skills give them a superior advantage in preying on unsuspecting tourists. Simply said, the ones with larceny in their hearts just can't help themselves.
11. Above all else, and assuming that you have the Spanish skills, always ask everything in advance. It's not very romantic, but I've learned from experience to tell them what I will pay, when I will pay it, and that I insist on a BBBJ. While you're still in the club or bar, you have all the control.

There have been many ocassions where I've had a particuliarly nice chica stay with me for a couple of days or longer, usually to accompany me on a trip into the country or to Mar del Plata. Of course, to me 300 pesos per day still seems a little high given that I'm paying all the travel expenses, but it's certainly subject to negoiation. Just today I was talking to a chica friend who offered to accompany me for free if I took her with me to see the Rolling Stones in Rio de Janeiro next month.
I also wanted to clairify that the girls are receiving the same prices now as they were before the devaluation, with the same purchasing power [i]in Argentina[/i] as before the devaluation. The only difference is that when you go to exchange your dollars for their pesos, you now get more pesos.

james bond...re your question about pricing.....I went to BA twice before devaluation of the peso. In August of 2001 I paid an average of 200USD for a 4 hour date (for the evening)....sex/dinner/sex.....and 150 for a shorter date, and 200 to 300 for overnighters. These were the same prices I paid in pesos after devaluation, until just recently when I have had a harder time finding chicas for 200 for an overnight date...most now want 300 for TLN....but since the price is in pesos, that's 100USD now vs. 200-300 a year ago....so, yes, prices in dollars have fallen dramatically.
Jackson's post makes very good points about informed hobbyists paying informed prices...it makes it easier on everyone if all of us know and adhere to the prevailing price structure....otherwise the prices will escalate. A caveat...if you pay only the same amount as last year, the girl's purchasing power will have declined somewhat due to inflation. Things cost more now.

I am a one year reader, first time poster. The info. I have read is 90+% bang-on for the one area I know a bit about, BA. Thanks to all. I have been to Argentina 5 times in the last 3 years and just returned from a 2 weeker in early Oct. I have been to many places around the world but never had the inclination to hobby until BA.

On prices, I have a few notes as a gringo vs. a latino buddy I was with from outside Argentina. The prices in general were the same off the internet, (making phone calls) and the clubs for each of us. As my amigo is more into bargaining, he tried, with the response that 'you are now from one of the rich countries' to which he replied, 'not for long'. Basic prices were 100p/hr, (+cab), all night 300p. One hr sessions turned to 1.5 or so, same charge. Some club girls looked for more, some internet, but only 10% of the girls, and there was no moving their prices.
I went to BA this time looking for a bit of a GFE, which I got, same girl 2 different days. This cannot be done in 1 hour. If someone can provide a tactful method to do the following, please write. How does one arrange this tactfully knowing the girls want to schedule their time?
IMHO, I enjoyed the internet experience because it was not as hard core as some of the clubs can get, totally opposite to what my expectations were. I would never go to BA without checking the clubs out however as they are a lot of fun, more English speakers then I have come across in the past.

Like middleageguy, I've also been lurking on this board for a couple of months now and I must say that the Argentina section on this board has been a tremendous source of information, so much so that I have planned a short trip over thanksgiving to explore BA. Though it will be my first time in BA, I by no mean am a novice to the hobby scene, having been to Brazil 5 times in the last three years. I was pretty content on continuing my periodic trips to Brazil but after reading the glowing reports from this Argentinian section I figure I owe it to myself to check out the scene in BA.
My question to the experts on the board is, given that I am an Asian-American, can someone tell me whether this poses a problem in BA as far as mongering goes? I know from personal experience in Rio, Sao Paulo and Fortaleza that it is not a problem at all (In fact girls seem to zero in on me amongst my caucasian friends in the termas or boites of Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo for some unknown reason.) Just curious about BA girls attitude toward asian males?
I am pretty pumped up about this upcoming trip and would like to find out if other WSGers will be around in BA from 11/26 to 12/1 so that me and my buddy can hang out with you. Certainly the first couple rounds of ceveza will be on me. Am currently in the process of securing some lodging options from Mayri from argentinago.com. As I said, I have been a frequentflyer to Brazil and am a huge fan of the Brazilan garotas but certainly look forward to a change of venue/pace in the form of BA. Just treat them so good that they will not want to leave you. Make them laugh, and enjoy the time. It does not always work because of prior commitments, but it will get you off to a good start.

Apstar. Trust me. You will not have any problems at all. I have met up with guys of all different backgrounds in Buenos Aires and none have had any problems. You will really like it there and the chicas are very affectionate and friendly.
There are a bunch of us in Buenos Aires over Thanksgiving. Actually probably too many of us. I stopped responding to emails because there is no way I'll be able to meet with all of you in 4 short days. Maybe you'll see some of us out at the clubs. I'm meeting up with 3 amigos during Thanksgiving weekend. I've received emails from about 5 or 6 other dudes wanting to all go out together. There is no way a group of 9 or 10 of us is gonna work in the same club.
Maybe we can have lunch or dinner together though. Also, maybe since so many of us are going to be there on Thanksgiving I'll put together a dinner party at a nice restaurant for all of us. Then we can split up in groups of 3 or so and go out to the clubs. That probably sounds like a better idea. Anyone that wants to be included, email me at saintofba@hotmail.com and "RSVP".
