Question to the board about Palermo Viejo. What are 1 or 2 of the highest paying cambios in PV. I will be staying in a apartment on the Borges 2000 block and Paraguay is the cross street. How nice is this area and where is the best seafood restaurant in this area.

Most banks use the exchange rate when the transaction clears not when it happens. The exchange rate is slowly creaping up, I would recomend not using any cambios and only using an ATM card. (whatch out for fake money)

If you insist on using Cambios I don't know any good ones in PV but if you go the Galaria del Sol at the corner of Florida and Paraguay, enter on the Paraguay side and go into the little leather shop slightly to the right when you get inside (Big Fat guy sitting out front, Blonde Russian lady behind a little screen. I've used them a gozillion times and they consistantly have the best exchange rate.

Is this leather place in walking distance from where I am? Atm's charge fees to use. In mrazil the cambios pay more than the atm's w / o the fees. How do I use the atm with my WAMU check card.

Take the 152 bus down Santa Fe get off at Plaza San Martin walk two blocks I think to Paraguay there is the Galaria del Sol.

Is there a Norte nearby? Is there a subway nearby? Is there a cambio nearby? What color is the ATM? How far is it to Peru from Palermo? Does this shirt make me look fat? Did we cover all your inane questions?

As you can see, I'm not a frequent poster. But I figure I'll weigh in.

I was just down in Buenos Aires for the first time. I read the forum, did the research and then just played it by ear down there. It's really, really not that tough. Buenos Aires is a very easy city to get around - and if you have any questions just ask them when you are down there. Oh. And use Roxanne's services. She was very helpful.

I will impart one piece of advice. Don't expect to get money out of an ATM on Monday morning. It seems they generally get refilled after the weekend sometime during the day and I was unlucky enough to have to try 5 of them one day (it might have been after a long weekend) before I was able to get money.

Sooner or later, I'll give you guys a detailed report on my trip. I saw about 7 girls while I was there. All were Internet chicas, except for one from 1707. Of the girl's, 5 out of 7 were incredible. Prices paid ranged from $100 to $200 Pesos - and the best of the best was a $100 Peso girl. I chose the girls through research on this site, as well as a similar Spanish language site. The research definitely paid off. I visited Black's and Excedra, although I did not draw from either. Black's was toooooo expensive and the girl's in Excedra were a little too tired looking for me. I also visited another apartment on Sante Fe, but had no problem leaving because the girls didn't appeal to me.

Anyways, just don't be afraid to go down there and figure things out while you are there. As to girls, for a newbie, Roxanne will set everything up, including how much you have to pay. It's real easy. Also, if you have the chance, try and learn a little Spanish before you go down. Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone both have beginners Spanish lessons. That's all I needed.

Exactly right. Come down and check things out. Do a little reasearch. It is not that difficult. If you need some help ask and guys will respond. I even helped JF out once when he asked about gyms in Recoleta. But I won't tell him where a dry cleaner is in Palermo Viejo and how much they charge to clean a suit and if it is too much money, how much just to press the pants and what kind of hangars do they use. And how long does it take to get the suit done. I could care less.

PS: Who was the 100 peso chick. We need to know!

I arrived in Ba about 2pm instead of 9am, as was the plan. American Airlines screwed me up again with their constant fucking delays.checked into my apartment in PV for 250 us per week.Great deal.since I didnt want to go to sleep and wake up at 2 in the morning, I decided to just stay up and do the 35 hours with no sleep and go to bed about 4 or 5am. I went to Paris cambio and recieved 2.95. Had a haircut for 15 pesos, and ate some great seafood around the corner. The subway system is pretty great and made things much easier. About 9pm I went to Cafe Excedra and took a look. I wasn't very happy. These girls would make hugh hefner turn gay. I then walked over to Cafe Orleans and it was more of the same thing. The girls were skanks. The cafe places were very nice and upscale but the girls werent to my liking. I walked a little more and a barker told me to check out his club for free. I said sure. It was the club across from a restaurant called "My House". There were about 5 girls there and only one was hot. She was about 5'9 with a body that killed. I spoke to her on the sofa and found out she gets off at 2. I made plans with her to to meet at a cafe for 150 pesos when she was off. I know the odds of these girls standing you up are pretty high but I wasnt paying this place an hourly rate in drinks. I then checked out Cattos, Hook, Madahos, Solid Gold, and a place called Sims. All clubs let me look for free. Sims had a show with girls stripping so I decided to pay the 40 pesos and hang out there. The other clubs were kind of slow with no strippers. The clubs gave me the run down on how they work. They wanted me to pay about 50 or 60 pesos for every hour that I took the girl out. I don't do the hour thing at my apartment so at 3 hours I would be paying 180 pesos plus 150 pesos for the girl, throw in the entrance fee of 35 to 40 pesos, and these places are expensive. I didn't like the whole setup of all these places. I wish they would just make the money off the entrance fees and charge 5 dollars for all future drinks like Help. Anyway, the girls at Sims were pretty hot. I stayed there until 1:30 and didn't take any girls home. I walked over to the cafe and of course the girl didnt show up. I was pretty tired at this point so I wasn't too pissed. In summary, I found all the girls would go with me for 150 pesos but the bar fine would cost more than the girls. Tonight I check out Blacks and Affaire.

I don't know how can anyone come to BA and able to hold off more than four hours after landing in the land of plenty. You guys must have more will power than I do. In fact I don't even schedule any appointment on the first day since one can never sure the exact arrival time. I don't want to have to wait for the chica after I settle into the hotel. I must cruise to one of my favorite privados and drop what Member #3313 calls it "Inter-continental Carried Load" right away.

I have been to BA now 4 times between December 2002 and November 2004 and had fantastic times! But when I am there I seem to calm down and adjust to the fact that I can have amazing sex every day with whichever lady takes my fancy. However being stuck back in freezing northern Europe with a constant hard on I am going insane checking out all the new babes on the Argentinian escort websites. It seems like a never ending production line of new talent.

So I was wondering, maybe this is a bit of a general question, but how does the scene seem now compared to a couple of years ago after their economy crashed? Are as many new ladies going into the business, is their attitude still as good, and what are the average prices for an escort girl, 100 - 150 pesos, or more? The reason I am asking this is because the more the argentinian economy improves and the peso creeps up, I keep expecting the escort scene to collapse as ladies find more 'typical' jobs.

I've been to BA 3 time in the last 2 years and the mongering I've done usually includes the Triangle, Newport, and the internet sites. Yes Newport. There are a few nice ones to be had for the 150-200 ARS range. I usually pay 200 for a 1 hour session, but I've found a few 150's that were just as good.

I'm very picky about quality and service. BBBJ is a given and multiple pops if I'm up to it.

This place is a great place to bring a regular girl from the US or if you already have a regular girl here. The food is incredible and so so cheap. Besides girls, this is the cheapest place on the planet. I had pizza and a Flam dessert which were fucking incredible. The pizza cost me 6 bucks! And the Flam which is the best I ever had in my life was 1.50. Amazing how such a simple dish like pizza can taste so different and so much better in another country. America is really short changing us on the quality of pizza. Ive never had pizza in new york but I doubt it could be as good as here or brazil for the same price. Your report was no surprise, neither was the impression you had of BA. You must have posted 25 prior questions about BA that were progressively annoying and too finite (for example: What are 1 or 2 of the highest paying cambios in PV? Who the F*** knows) It was inevitable that you would not enjoy your trip because you needed to know too many specifics.

As you stated: The only good thing about this place is the safety, buying power for food and all things non-chicas, and the people are friendly. Damn man, the ladies are fine and the other aspects of BA are what makes this such a great place. You won't use internet chicas, you won't use Roxanne - a great resource for a first timer, you want three hour sessions for the one hour price, you want girls to meet you after work instead of before work when they can be more flexible with their prices, you go to the most expensive clubs in town and you do not check out any apartments where you have girls delivered for 100 pesos an hour! You come to a large metropolitan city and want the system to adjust to your terms and conditions. Remember you are competing with other mongers who may pay more or less. It is easier to pay a little more than the cheap clients and get what you want. Paying less against corporate types in Blacks and Madahos is chancy, but it can be done.

Enjoy Brazil which not safe, has about the same buying power for worse food and the people are ready to rob you everytime you walk out of your hotel.

The girls at Madahos were fine as hell but expensive. I never said there were no good looking girls there or in BA. They just all hang out at Blacks, Madahos and Sims. I actually went to Solid gold after Madahos and every girl there was a skank. Not only that, but after 5 minutes of talking with the least ugly girl in SG, the hostess says I have to buy her a 40 peso drink JUST TO FUCKING TALK! Are you kidding me. I declined and the girl was told to leave. Its been like that everywhere. I'm at Madahos and I'm talking to the girl for about 10 minutes and she wants me to buy her a drink for 60 pesos. The mgmt says they are not allowed to talk with the guys for a extended period of time without buying a drink. I'm sure there was alot of bullshit with that statement but it was real at every place. One other thing: YOU can't GRAB ASS HERE! I'm used to being very hands on at the termas in Brazil and I'm not bothered at all about it. This place is just to much business. Joe: Madahos and Black are notorius for high prices because they cater to rich tourists and upscale Argentines. I have not been to Madahos in almost 2 years and have never been to Black, even though I have lived here for almost three years. If you want to negotiate in there you have to speak spanish. Argentine chicas have a seperate asking price for gringos.

My strong suggestion: go to Platynum.com, pick out a couple of girls and call Roxanne immediately. Highest price for internet chicas are 200 pesos an hour. Now, these same chicas will charge 150 to locals. Some of the girls will charge more to go to your apartment because they lose travel time! But their apartments are nicley appointed and comfortable. Steve, the board is full of stories about guys having their throats massaged in the clubs by girls who want their business. Personally I do not get into those publlic displays. Buying a drink first is a good sign that your are going to take the girl out. Buying a drink before the deal is struck is not something I recommend.

Get out of Recoleta, go to the triangle, Reconquista, and shop around. Go to Orleans and Excedra during the afternoons. Try a massage.

One good thing: you are only a couple of hours from Rio, you could always turn this trip into a more positive experience by cutting your losses and going to a place where you are more comfortable. I'm not being sarcastic, it just seems that BA and you are not clicking.

I just returned from my first trip to BA. I found it fantastic. Roxana is extremely helpful. She gave me a great tour and all sorts of great information. I asked her help setting up an appointment and not only was the girl great but the rate was 200 pesos not the 300 advertised. I know I overpaid for girls throughout BA, a mistake I will not make again. (Except under unusual circumstances.) Sorry guys. Next trip I will be more careful but this trip I was in a hurry to see everything.

Hey Joe. I've been to Costra Rica a few times, I assume your just pissed about your recent visit to BA. Costra rica is no comparison to BA. Hell it cost Sat least 100 usd / hr for a chica in the Blue Marlin, Costa Ricas' best mongering location. CR chicsa in BA would starve to death if they had to compete with BA babes.

LOL! Joe - I'm on your bandwagon! I enjoy reading the forums here quite a bit. But traversing from my home in the US to my home in Cordoba, Argentina and typically passing through Buenos Aires and Brazil, I can say I've had enough experiences to personally wholeheartedly agree with you. But, I've come to my own conclusion that the glowing reviews I read about a lot of these places in BA might be from those not personally exposed to what you or I may have exposure to (or those looking for bargain basement deals) and hence why I am just as jaded as you are. I'm quite certain there are others that feel the same as you. Those would be the types that don't settle for mediocrity.

I'm an executive with a large US company (semi-retired, single and still a sprite 42)! So I don't typically settle for low budget anything and certainly don't travel half way across the world just to find a "deal" on well used women. I would rather pay what most posters here consider outrageous sums of money and stick with the members only clubs in the US. But the money aspect is nothing more than perspective. Outrageous to one is minimal to another.

Personally, I enjoy visiting some of the clubs in BA for their entertainment value. The culture is different, the girls different, the way of doing things a little different. Though I will tell you, it's amazing how far they will kiss your butt at the BA clubs if they already know you spend $$. It's pretty fun walking into one or two clubs with a couple of friends and them knowing you and immediately catoring to you with the best girls right away (even though their best girls may not be much to talk about - but bless their hearts for trying!). Cuts down on the "trolling".

I firmly believe that those that find frustration at the clubs in BA are those looking for "killer deals" (my friends and I call them "blue-light specials") or those that are already used to much better. In which case, it would be easy to be jaded. You have to remember that just as anything other business, the clubs you visited cator more towards the tourists who wouldn't know any different. Have you seen prices for the junk they sell at Telmo?

Why not try a different atmosphere. Try going to a club outside the city that cators to the locals. There are quite a few places outside the "tourist traps" where it doesn't cost much for a beer and a girl and you'll have a fun time playing some pool and then deciding if you want to take the girl out with NO PRESSURE (I wish I had the names for you, but if you speak spanish just ask a taxi driver). Since most these places cater to the locals, you don't hear much about them. Or try heading to Cordoba. You can find brothels there in the local paper and since it's not so tourist laden as BA is, the prices may be more to your liking. Or try Brazil, even Uruguay, where they are a little more relaxed. Personally, if I were a true "monger" I'd be enjoying Brazil more than Argentina. If you're in BA strictly for the mongering and nothing else, I would say you're in the wrong place if you're looking for top quality places and girls. While they might exist, they are few and in between. You might also find it less frustrating if you treat all this as an adventure. Kind of like sightseeing! LOL! You'll eventually find the ones that you like and don't like. But you just have to keep an open mind. Of course, if you're on a budget of some sort, maybe this may not be the best perspective. :)

Keep in mind that my perspective is different than most on here (from what I read). I wouldn't personally walk out of any of these clubs with a girl unless she was model quality (in my eyes) and caught my interest (in which case, they'd most likely be $$$ compared to the norm). I can count the girls I've left with at the clubs you mention on one hand. I tend to lean more towards the higher quality services (or private introduction services). I've also had very good limited success with Internet services Platynum and AreaVip.com. My perspective is that you get what you pay for though. I don't really look for the sex "quicky". I like hiring a girl for a nice outing / date and making an entire day or evening of the experience. What I've found in my experience is that the right high priced girls offer the following advantages:

They are more likely to take care of themselves since they have the means ($$$) to do so.

They are typically very well educated (I have taken them to fundraising and other functions and have never worried about having them make me look bad - and it's cool knowing I will be spending the night with them when we get home)

They typically dress immaculately and look stunning.

They make excellent travel companions and I've never had a dull moment.

They have less mileage because the average joe can't afford them.

Again, this is all just my opinion and just the way I go about things. It certainly may not fall into the purest definition of "mongering". But I do empathize with your frustration!

P.S. They've been playing the 80's music for years, even in Cordoba. I find it hilarious! Of course, Miami Vice and the Simpsons seem to be the iconic TV shows there so what would you expect! LOL!

I have tried Brazil. About 6 times. Thats why I'm jaded. I just came here because the exchange rate in Brazil is in the toilet. Looks like I will be back in Brazil. The problem with this place is there is a direct correlation between looks and price. Not so much in Brazil. Never been to Uruguay. Care to elaborate.

If you go to Uruguay (Montevideo) get the local paper. I think it was called El Pais. Check the massage section for some give addresses and brush up on the spanish then go visit them. The rates there are around $150-$200 pesos for the hour. I believe there is a university nearby or something because the couple of massage places I went to had nice looking younger girls working there and they were all very friendly.

I went to a couple of clubs last time I was there (a couple of years ago) and they are the same as the clubs in BA. Since Montevideo is so close to Argentina, you will see parallels and probably have the same frustrations.

Like in BA, they also have whiskerias there as well. Some of these places are run down but a couple aren't so bad. I like to have a little fun and "rent" a girl and play pool and get to know her a little before I decide to take her out or not. At least I have fun if I decide to just leave.

By the way, some of the brothels in Cordoba charge you a very low minimum, and you can visit with the girl that you choose over a coke or coffee in the establishment. The hourly rate doesn't apply until you actually take her to a room. This way if you don't like the girl you can choose another until you find one you want to take into a room.

I only recently found this forun (as you can see by my post count) so I never kept the names of these places in mind for sharing with others, but I can tell you one of these bothels in only a few blocks from the main Post Office on Colon. I initially got the address in the the local paper advertising (La Voz Del Interior) When I head back to my home in Cordoba next week I'll be sure to start noting some of this info.

BY the way... I agree that quality in Brazil is higher. Since cost isn't a precluding factor for me though, it's still my favorite place regardless of the exchange rate. It would still be less than in Los Angeles and the attitude and atmosphere in Brazil is so much better! Considering my flights to Cordoba cost around $4-5k (I fly Lan Chile Business or First), at this price I certainly wouldn't be flying to South America purely for the women! If that were the case, I would be doing so much better staying in Los Angeles! :)

Well, I'm finally almost out of this place. I have 250 pesos left after exchanging 300 us when I arrived. I can't believe how much mileage you can get out of 300 dollars when your not banging girls. BTW - those clubs and chicas in Buenos Aires ripped you off big time. I have never had any problems finding quality chicas at fairly good prices. I just take my time and show patience. And I have never had any problems with the clubs trying to over charge me. Guess it just happens to some people.

This place could be in the top 2 or 3 mongering destinations in the world if they knew how to make their customers happy. You can't depend on Termas in either place like in Rio, you don't have the Copa and you don't have Help either. You have too many tourist in the area and people like Mike in Brazil making Internet Porn there which will do nothing but bring down more desperate sex-starved tourist to the area. I think if you review your tactics, you find you went 180 in the face of conventional wisdom in dealing with BsA and set yourself up for failure.

Obviously it depends on your tastes. I've been to all 3 in the last year, and I know what my favorite is.

Brazil has some very beautiful girls, but the rip off factor (sometimes the girls, but usually in the street / beach) is very high, primarily in Rio. When you factor in the hassle to get a visa (now mostly giving only 90 day visas) and the strong real it's not a big bargain.

Sao Paolo has some super beautiful girls, but the price can be dear. There are decent options in massage places where FS is included in the price. I actually got the nicest looking chica I've ever been with for about $50 for an hour.

BA also has a lot of inflation, although the Peso vs Dollar rate is stable. The food is excellent, transportation options cheap and plentiful, good selection of affordable chicas and is very monger friendly. You can still find a decent chica for 50 or 60 pesos for an hour in a privado, although not a stunner.
