I read through this thread with a great deal of interest, and L'Alliance sounds like a fascinating place. If I understand correctly, it's a restaurant with a brothel upstairs. I'll be in BA 6/30-7/6. Just my luck it may still be close during my visit. I really hope it opens up in time. I suppose I can just walk by and see if it's open, but is there a number I can call when I arrive in order to find out?

PS: I'm embarrassed to admit that I hadn't read this thread prior to my last visit to BA, so I followed the guidebooks and ate at La Chacra. Bad choice; mediocre food, mucho dinero. Ironically, L'Alliance appears to be just next door and sounds like a much better choice. Please, please reopen before I leave on July 6!

Called in yesterday evening after all the positive comments posted over the last few months. Met TL who was very helpful, knew the BA scene very well and had many interesting stories to tell. Enjoyed a steak with a friend and moved on, with TL's help to Hook, not being a "seasoned clubber" was pleased with the help that TL provided. Any new guys in town should check out L'Alliance.

Stopped in between pub visits during Friday WC matches but, alas, L'alliance closed. Maybe next time.945 Cordoba. Next to La Chaca. Correct?

I had dinner at the L'Alliance last Friday. The steak was tender, the wine was impeccable, the chicas were pretty and the prices were reasonable (for the steak & the chicas)

TL also has a great selection of hot sauces including some horseradish mustard and steak sauce.
