Roberto, Yes, that's the place and I can confirm that after nine pm there are at least a few dozen girls in there and that most of them do a striptease so you can see EXACTLY what you'll be getting under or over the covers. For an off-Recoleta experience I recommend it highly and you seem to be agreeing with that evaluation. As a way of introduction, let me back track a bit. About mid 1999, business started taking me to BA three to four times each month for almost two years straight. Are there any $30 a night hotels in Recoleta? I don't mind something a little less fancy as long as you can bring the girls there without a problem. Any help would be appreciated. It seems that staying close to the action is the best thing to do. Also are there any Internet links with maps of the Recoleta area?

dosequis...$30 per night in the heart of Recoleta will be hard to do....try the link suggested by Saint and speak to Mayra about apartments. She has one that is well located and goes for $35 per night.
You say you want to be close to the action....Actually, there are two centers of action...Recoleta and downtown or the Microcenter....$30 per night is doable downtown close to the action....The Lancaster Hotel is on the corner of Reconquista and Cordoba, about a block from Cafe Orleans one direction and a block from Cutty Sark in the other direction.....http://www.lancasterhotelpage.com
Since you want an inexpensive hotel you are probably a budget minded monger....If so, I have found downtown to be less expensive for both drinks and chicas than Recoleta.....

Saint: A little over a year ago I was trying to decide on a new mongering destination....I was thinking about Cuba, Costa Rica, Colombia or Argentina....One look at Moondog's report and pix and I was packing my bags for Buenos Aires!!!!
After my first trip I wrote that Argentina was expensive and worth every penny I had spent. That was before devaluation of the peso. Nowadays Argentina is an incredible bargain and the thoughts I once entertained about other destinations are distant memories. Truth be known, most of the thoughts I entertain these days center on BsAs...my life in the states is spent planning for my next trip and exploring ways to live in Argentina months rather than weeks at a time....
I already have tickets in hand for trips number 6 and 7 to Buenos Aires....and with air fares as low as they are right now, I may soon pull the trigger on trip number 8......
Credit (or blame depending upon your perspective) goes to Moondog.....

Thanks moondog. I am not really on a budget but I'd rahter save my money for the women. I don't need luxurious accomodations. I didn't really mean a FAQ. You mentioned you have posted elsewhere a post to help beginners. I wouldn't mind reading that here. Could you copy and paste it?
What exactly is Cafe Orleans and Cutty Sark? Are there more bars to pick up chicas or are they regular bars? Are all the women available?
I am not big on escort services and I would rather go where you can pick up women that will go to your hotel for a price. Or at least go to a place where you see the women first. I prefer to dance, drink and talk first. Sex later. Where do you suggest? In these type of clubs do all the women go up and are there women that are just there to hang out. I am not fluent but I do speak more than enouh Spanish to get by.

Take the time to go back and read all the posts from early this year. I can bet all your questions will be answered. Just about everything you could ever need to know about is answered in this forum or in the archives. This is a very active board and information is current. If guys are taking the time to report, take the time to go back and read.
Remember this is a FREE board. My parents always told me that there's nothing free in life but I gotta tell you.... this board is the closest thing to it.

I agree with Saint, as the answers can be found in the archives, and there is a ton of information on these subjects.
Cafe Orleans is a normal cafe, but has the added benefit of beautiful and not so beautiful working girls sitting around the cafe as well. It is best during the normal work week, during afternoons.
Cutty Sark is a bar just around the corner from Cafe Orleans, and has the girls for take out. They open early evening.

There are two primiary areas for Gringos seeking pay-for-play in BsAs: Downtown (Microcenter, Retiro areas) and Recoleta, an affluent area 5-10 minutes from downtown. Recoleta is more a residential area, downtown the business hub.
In downtown there are several pay for play clubs where all the girls are available to take to a short time hotel or to your hotel. Cutty Sark is the oldest chica bar in Buenos Aires, and is located between Cordoba and Paraguay on Reconquista. Cutty opens about 4:00 to cater to the after work crowd of Argentinos. It remains open until the wee hours of the morning. Not many chicas at either 4pm or 4 am though....best selection 8:30PM-1:00AM
Cafe Orleans is one of the strangest places I have seen...looks like a cafe and is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner...but there are a number of free-lance chicas sitting around with cell phones on the table waiting for a call from regulars or for you to pick them up....Orleans is located on Cordoba at the corner of San Martin.
Keep going 4 blocks or so straight on down Cordoba walking away from Puerto Madero and toward 9 de Julio until you hit Suipacha and turn right. In the 900 block you will find 4 more chica clubs, Hook, Ness, Cattos and Pipers. These places don't start to rock until about 11 PM.
If you don't like what you see in downtown, grab a cab and say, "La Recoleta, por favor." 10 minutes and 4-5pesos later you will be deposited more than likely at the corner of Vincente Lopez and Junin. Take a right on Junin....on your left you will pass a club that says Newport....The chicas here are available....keep going a block or so to Guido and take a right....on the opposite side of the street about half way down the block are a couple of more clubs, Afairre and Closers....again, all the chicas here are available.
If you are such a picky bastard that you still haven't taken a chica home, retrace your steps to the corner where the cab driver let you off, and head right....follow the sidewalk that runs beside the high concrete wall...which hides a cemetary....On the other side of the cemetary you can either turn right on Azcuenaga, where you will find Solid Gold and a little further up the street Playwomen, or continue straight ahead on Vincente Lopez where you will find severa more clubs, including Sodoma....(Doncha just love the names of some of these clubs? Sodom...and Playwomen For You are my favorite club names, though not my favorite clubs....) All of the Recoleta clubs are late night venues...
There are other clubs scattered around these two parts of town and in other barrios...there are also a few massage places here and there....but this list is of clubs are clustered more or less together...and should keep the first time visitor very busy.....
