I have to agree with Bozology regarding Argenta Towers, I was there for the past week and was not dissapointed. Call Mayra from Argentinago to get a better rate, I had a King, prepaid for around US60 including taxes and breakfast, however, I did book that before Christmas. Also, if you search the 12th floor along with the gym there is a steam room and a private room with a massage table set up, didn't use either, but its nice to know.

Hi guys, I'm coming in BA the 23rd feb, Mayra from Argentinago.com suggest me the Murano and the Melia.
I've read many posts and both are good, anyone could suggest me from a monger point of view is better?
I'll be around for a while so if anyone would like to have a wingman, just let me know.
Mongers regards to all.

Meliá is good, but I have no experience concerning chica friendlyness.
Nice room, U$S 90,- through Mayra, free high speed internet in room.

I vote for the Etoile.
I know it's gotten a bad rap on the list, primarily from Uncle Otto, but I don't know why? Beds are bumpy? The hotel is rundown? OK, a bit but this is a true three star hotel in everyway.
The location is ideal for mongering - right between Affaire Recoleta and Blacks, the staff first rate and the price very reasonable for what you get (check with Mayra for a special rate).
And I LOVE the health club, heated pool with retractable roof on the top floor.
It's chica friendly if the chica is over 18 (fair enough)
The only bad news is that you have to pay 50 pesos extra if you want to bring in two chicas if you are into that (I'm not anymore - done that, been there)
Big deal. If you go into the Alcapulco transitorio in Recoleta will charge you an additional 125 pesos and that's just for an hour!

Hey James, enough of this pimping for the Etoile, when are we going to read about "Banned from Blacks" and all the other topics you promised us?

I was in October in BA and stayed in LoiSuites in Recoleta. Excellent place, good rooms, no problem bringing girls. Only one night I had a small problem (5$ fixed it) bringing two girls back.
Mayra of Argentinago made the reservations for me. She got a little commission and I got an excellent room.

The Murano is a nice hotel. New, free high speed Internet, frieas about 85 USD/night and a suite wandly staff, good breakfast. Right next to Cafe Excedra which puts it just a short taxi ride from the clubs in Recoleta (I recall it was 7-8 pesos). There are less expensive places as a regular room ws about 125 USD (that was through Mayra). I was very happy with the suite. No problems bringing girls back but only one at a time.
Etoile is a great location and the public area looks very nice but a lousy bed is a dealbreaker.

Which of the following has the best location in terms of being in a nice and relatively quiet neighbourhood, good surroundings, and yet close the core action areas, Murano, Melia, Loisuites Recoleta, Park Chateau Kempinski Hotel or Park Plaza Kempinski Hotel?
This is my virgin trip to BA, on business, and some pleasure ;) so appreciate all the help!

DFB, thanks for the review on Hotel Cristoforo Colombo. I always wondered about it. Unfortunately it's gone from a $25 hotel to a $75 one on Travelocity. Oh well, it's back to Dazzler for me.

Peter P:
LoiSuite Reoleta matches your request best, however, it is not exactly cheap. A few months back I posted on this hotel.

I just noticed that my posting on the Murano was garbled. Here's a revised posting:
The Murano is a nice hotel. New, free high speed Internet, decent sized rooms with good beds, excellent bathrooms, a friendly staff, and a good breakfast. It's right on Carlos Pelegrini and just a few doors down from Cafe Excedra. It's just a short taxi ride from the clubs in Recoleta
There are less expensive places as a regular room was about 85 USD and a suite was about 125 USD (that was through Mayra). I was very happy with the suite which included a whirlpool tub and a king bed. My room was on the front with a balcony overlooking Carlos Pelegrini (no traffic noise). No problems bringing girls but you have to register them at the desk (which I prefer anyway) and only one at a time.
The only drawback is that it's in a business area that's fairly deserted after 6pm. Good shopping in the area during the day.

JustGotBack,
Sorry to hear the news about Hotel Cristoforo Colombo's price practically tripling over the last 3 months. It was a good find in a pretty cool neighborhood.
Anyone know of a decent hotel in an interesting residential neighborhood (not right in the heart of the mongering activity in Recoleta nor in Microcentre) that is fairly inexpensive, and has an indoor pool?
I'd like to return to BA sometime when it's not the summer down there but would like the option of swimming.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I know the Loissuites in Recoleta gets rave reviews. Has anyone ever stayed at the other ones in BA? They are less than half the cost.
-
Fellows,
A lot of you seems to get good hotel rates through Mayra.
Would someone please PM me her contact details.
Thanks in advance.
