Asked a few locals where they go for the chicas and they named 2 bars close to art suites...one was like 20 yards close...called the J and B Pub...Yes, they get away with using the scotchs name brand logo as their door sign. The place has obviously been there for ever which is cool and the 6 regular girls are nothing special. But for a quick pop at 100 plus the traditional 15 peso chica drink it does the trick. These women will go till you cried uncle. I must point out that for a 100 150 pesos you can get really great chicas on platynum. So one would ask why this place interests me. First, when you have procuitto ham everyday a little boiled ham would be nice. Second, the women look tawdry and dress that way. Third, this place pours a big drink and you guessed it, the speciality of the house is a wide assortment of scotches. Finding places like this are fun for me...

Umgman and Maddur showed up at J n B last night to join me for
a few pops at this seedy joint. They passed on the chicas but one must remember that one mans chicken is another mans steak.

As for OTTOs what to do...here is the way I use my spare time...seeking out local dishes...food...that I do not recognize and trying them...there are alot of local corn or lentill bean based thick soups or stews chock full of ham and chicken that are excellent...many curry based dishes as well. Also, these Argentine people take their empenadas very seriously and debate exists between the locals as to who make the best. 20 kinds of these....Best entertainment is Tango...There are many places even the locals go to watch while having coffee or dinner.

OttoGraham --- Before I answer your question i'd like to Add my two cents worth about Buenos Aires --- Its the most unbelieveable place Ive ever been for single guy's traveling --- Its sorta like your first trip to Disneyland when you were a little kid, you could not believe what you were seeing -- Ive read all the posts our brothers have posted and been to everyone of the clubs including Hippopotamus and Newport,(my favorite)which not much has been talked about --- The reason I state this is Black and Playwoman are strickly professionals as are all the website girls, but the above clubs you will find the semi pros & amatures, girls that aren't in the business but need a little extra money and sum fun at the same time --- Also the best I found was free, meeting them at shoping malls or side walk cafe's --- Since being an American they are immediately attracted to you ---

I justed wanted to add a little something. I´m still here in BA and have had some serious fun at the clubs in Recoleta. The other night I was approached by a very attractive twosome (women I would be interested in stateside) who had heard from the bartender that I was primarily interested "group" activity. We went to one of the local short time hotels for a great, fun filled, non-stop, two hour threesome. The next night we out to a movie at the mall, grabbed a few drinks, went to a local night club for some serious dancing and then onto the hotel for some serious all night activity. The interesting part was this time they made it clear that they were MORE than just work partners. There was also some competition between them to see who was the "lead sled dog". So, the next five hours were a whirlwind of bodies, digits, and orifices. We alternated between sex and sleep until about 8am, at which point we were all thoroughly drained, literally and figuratively. Total cost: 300 pesos plus drinks, taxis, entrance fees, etc. We were all to together, more less on a "date" for about 12 hours. They said it was more of a day off or change of pace and it really had the feel of a bunch of friends hanging out rather than a business arrangement. And they want to get together on Sunday for another day out exploring BsAs.

I mention this because my belief is, yes it is VERY easy to pay $100 US, $200 US or more for an hour with a hot woman here. Christ, I can choose to spend money like water and hardly notice. But, you will ALWAYS get the most mileage from situations where, for the woman, money is a BONUS, rather than the focus your time together. And EVERY disappointing experience I´ve ever had involved me thinking about how HOT she is and saying the money doesn´t matter. Now, I ignore my own lust, and focus completely on how she´s responding verbally and non-verbally to me.

One other note: hanging out with these two at the mall, the night clubs, etc. made it very clear that this place is exactly like a New York, LA or Miami. If you have your "shit wired tight" so to speak, it is VERY possible to score non-pro action. Knowing the language helps. My girls actually started getting concerned because I was getting too much attention from non-pros at the night club and they were very aware that they could be replaced.

Another good option is "Senor Tango". I don't have a website for it but everyone in BA knows about it. I've been to both of them and they are both quite good, although the food at Senor Tango is not stellar, so I suggest you pay a little more to upgrade your meal and wine at Senor Tango.

El Viejo Almacen is also a BA institution, but it seems to have declined in the last few years and at the suggestion of locals I've opted for the two above instead

These are fun shows but after you've been there once, you've pretty much covered it, so for repeat dates I'd suggest the floating casino as was mentioned in an earlier post

I would like to thank you fine gentlemen for posting up all the great info for us newbies..I've been to Dominican Repub (Puerto Plata, Sosua..check out my posts) this past April and I'm looking to try out B.A. (Recoleta area) maybe around Mid November. I've got a few little suggestions for you as for what you can do on a date with one of the many luscious Argentinean honeys you'll find in BA: go to a Boca Jr. or River Plate or Racing soccer match. Argentinean soccer is played most of the year with just a short time off in between "Apertura" season and "Clausura" season in their winter. Tickets are relatively inexpensive and relatively available and as long as you wear the home team's jersey you should blend in just fine and have no problems there.

Next, I recommend that if you like music that you either get some tickets to see any musical event at "Teatro Colon" which is BA's world-class concert hall who many say have some of the best acoustics in the world. This would be a real bonus to any chica who likes classical music and who has good taste, of which there are many girls like that in BA.

Restaurant wise, try taking a luncheon date to a famous place called "Cafe Tortoni" near Congreso. The place is one of the most famous restaurants in all of Argentina and dates back to the 1800's and has billiards tables in the back and awesome decor with checkered marble floors. It's in all the guide books and isn't terribly expensive. Have a sandwich de jamon crudo there and a few beers and watch the rich and famous stroll in and out of there and you'll have a nice time with your date.

Lastly, if you like modern electric music, Argentina has an absolutely priceless ska band know as "La Mosca" who are known throughout Argentina and if you could score two tickets to a "La Mosca" concert you'd be a star with almost any young lady and I venture to say that you'd probably find it nearly impossible not to get up and dance to their tunes. They appear often in BA as they're a touring-recording band with an unbelievable horn section, great vocals and great arrangements. Hope some of these suggestions are helpful. DownBA

The girls picked a place called "Niceto". The DJ played a lot of current American club music, which was a surprise. We went around 1:30 and the place was a ghost town. But, by 2:30 it was PACKED to the rafters with very young Argentinians between 19-25. This is not about "dating" vs. "whoring". For all intents and purposes, for most men those are two sides of the same coin. Spending downtime with english speaking locals at the French Street Bistro near Art suites. This is the kind of place where everyone knows your name...a good hang out. Here I learned of the J n B Pub on French street...details on one of my previous posts.

First I would like to thank Yabba and Umgman for making my stay really enjoyable with their wit and wisdom. The best part (OK Ok .. the socond best) of the trip was meeting up with these guys.
Here is my brief report as promised. Read the old posts - you will do well. I did. There is not much new info here (Part 3 is my own stuff and can be skipped). 1US$ = 3.5 pesos (roughly).

Part 1: (Non Chica)
When you land at the BA airport, do not exchange money near the baggage carousel. Take your bags, come outside. After you put your luggage through the x-ray machine, there is a counter to your right. They give a much better exchange rate. Change only a small amount for the cab fare. Cab fare is around 40 p to hotel Etoile.
Can't beat Etoile for the location. I also liked Art Suites but the beds at Etoile did not bother me too much (They are little old and the pillows are not great). I got the rate of 132 P per night for the executive room ( + taxes). The staff couldn't be friendlier.
To exchange money, walk out of Etoile, take a right - you will hit an intersection. There is bank (Itau) tow doors down on the opposite side of the road. There is also a money exchange place right opposite (The lines are usually shorter at the bank). I got rates ranging from 3.45 to 3.6. According to Yabba, you get a better rate with your ATM card - you should check this option.
Restaurants are plenty and I never had a bad meal - The prices are cheap (about $20 for a great dinner with wine, beef, desert and coffee - this was the max I spent for dinner at one of the best restaurants). In general you can have a decent lunch for $5and dinner for $12 (including tips).
Change your schedule. Everything starts hopping after midnight.

Part 2: (The clubs)
In general, you will find something that suits your taste. The skin tones run the whole spectrum - though I did not find too many dark skinned black women. All costs are short time (1 to 2 hrs). The costs are approximate and I did not bargain much. All clubs have exit drinks except Newport (which is a regular bar). Typically the drinks are 20p. for the girls. Take my ratings with a grain of salt. For example, I would rate Pamela Anderson 8 and Catherine Zeta Jones 9 (both 10 years back!)
Blacks: From Etoile take a right and another right at the intersection - walk 1 block and take a left. Blacks is midway on that block. The chicks run from 5 to 8 (you might find a 9). Cost: $100 to $200 ( I did not bargain much but some might go down to 250/300 p - $70 or so). You can also get her phone number and call her the next day - the rates will be cheaper. The atmosphere is more fun here when compared to Playwoman and there are more chicas.
Playwoman: From Etoile take a left cross the street and take a right at the next intersection. Keep the cemetery wall to your right and walk around it. The club is up a block. Chics 5 - 8 and cost around $100.

Cutty Sark: I did not go there - but Yabba said it was similar to Affaire.

After that we had a couple of drinks and I pop in 50 mg of Vitamin V. After 30 min or so we are at it again and it seems like eternity! She left in the morning (cost : $150).
Last night of my stay, I hit Blacks with Umgman and he picks up a hot blonde. I was eyeing an exotic creature but she was having a drink with another guy. After Umgman splits I wait for another 15 minutes, but this guy is not letting her go! (I don't blame him!). I head out to Sodoma. A nice looking chic immediately latches on to me. First and foremost I'd like to say that in my personal opinion I'd like to see this board not a billboard for people to complain or fight. The purpose of this board is for information exchange. I've always been a proponent of paying what you think is fair. I'm not saying waste money or throw money away. Suerte, it is very telling what type of person you are for calling someone a "dumbass" for paying what they deem to be a fair and honest value.

I don't care what anyone says. I'm not even saying I'm 100% right on this one. You can't keep comparing pre-financial crisis Argentina with post-financial crises Argentina. It is not the same place. It is not the same time. Like it or not, no matter how you look at it... sex is a commodity much like gold, silver, platinum, diamonds are. The laws of supply and demand will always come into play with any 'valuable resource' (which I consider sex to be..ha, ha).

As far as guys saying that it is ridiculous to pay $150 US for a session with any chica down there, hey that is your opinion and I don't begrudge you for your opinion. However, I can tell you that many, many, many hot girls in places like Blacks will not budge from their price quotes of as much as $200 US. If you want to see her you can either negotiate and try to get a lower fee or accept their offer. Several didn't budge from their prices. All the power to them.

The reality is that there can probably be a 500+% increase in the number of guys that go down there and there will still be plenty of girls available at a good price. Their economy is in chaos and isn't gonna get better overnight. There are new girls getting into the business every single day. That will keep prices in line. I just talked to some amigos that went down and they paid an average of 200 -250 pesos for a short visit and 300 - 600 pesos for an all nighter. (That is at 3.5 pesos to the dollar).

The 'superstars' down there are always going to demand more. And you know what? They will get it too. When you think about calling someone a dumb ass again. Remember this.... Many of us on this board are professionals, executives, doctors, lawyers, etc. Are our clients "dumbasses" for paying us $200, $300, $400, $500+ dollars an hour?? Maybe, but that is what you can charge and still keep busy. Same principle down there.

This is about personal preferences and opinions and each to their own.
I am a successful professional and have no problem investing money on something carrying a low risk with guaranteed high return. My choice and at the end of the day market forces will rule and that's a fact.

- Markets are built not only from Demand and Supply but also from information. Don't disregard the " collusion" effect of a forum like this.

- Remember the Blue Marlin's surge in prices. I heard that several years ago it was half as cheap as today (if not less). Don't make BA get to this point so fast.

- Paying what is fair is, after all, the best option. The problem is understanding what "fair" means. Even if some of you feel that is "fair" to pay $XXX, try to understand the context before deciding it.

- I'm a native Argentinian who has friends back home. Pushing prices up spoils the hobby for locals, and that' s bad for them and ultimately for you. If some locals cannot afford stunners for a long time due to high offers from gringos, they may feel resented about foreigners and may take revenge.

I don't know exactly what 7 or 8 means to you, but I can recommend you some daytime places that, up to last December, could have matched your criteria:

- Affaire (Not the Recoleta Affaire!!!): Pueyrredon Av. & Paraguay St. Should be open after 3PM (at most, 6PM). p10 the entrance (one drink included) and p70 for 30 minutes in-house (you enter a shacky building next to the bar). Acceptable place and very cute girls (most Paraguayans, Brazilians and locals).

- A place advertised in Platynum in the Massage section, with phone 4314-0749, located in Esmeralda St. and Cordoba Av. An apartment in a huge building. Girls were pretty but not stunners. I chose Sasha (as appears in www.placeresvip.com). Good massage but mechanical "dessert". I went at 6PM, not very busy, but these were the "De la Rua ousting" days, so the city was in chaos.
