I have a 'friend' who works in Madahos, a friend of 2 years. She told me the minimum they are told to charge is 250 pesos and that sometimes when they return to the club they are asked to show their money to a member of staff.

I know there is nothing to stop a girl charging 150 or 200 and having her own money in her purse to show the shortfall.

I've been lucky enough to visit every once in a while for about 4 years. In the begining I was a newbie Recoleta freak. I really dug Madahos because I liked the vibe in there.

I did not ascertain whether this was a "gringo only" thing but who the fuck cares - I don't think locals are the ones on their profit radar anyway.

Historically there has been a lot of dialogue and argument about what prices to accept / pay. Black is always in the radar in that regard. Well, I believe what I was told by this chica - because it makes sense from a business perspective. That perspective is: If the foriegners are willing to pay it, we will charge it. The allusion of high price = better product. In other words, to me, the Madahos transformation is fucking proof that paying too much does have a ripple effect and fucks up everything!

After checking out Blacks, Cutty Sark, Jaz, Hooks, Cattos, and a few others, some more than once, I found Madahos to have the best selection.

I found a couple of the girls to be snotty gatos, but many others were willing to spend some time talking with me without any obligation on my part to buy a drink. Usually there is a request after 5 or 10 minutes of talking, would I like to buy them a drink. But when I decline they usually just shrug and half the time they stick around anyway. I found the rates to be more reasonable than has been quoted on these boards as well. This important to me because I wear trainers constantly to help with my back condition, I don't even take a pair of shoes with me when I travel, so I am going to have to pick up a new pair if this is the case, that I will then inevitably never wear again.

One of this things I took notice of today walking around near my pad was the stylish and "with class" way that the older residents around my area carry themselves. By older I mean over 30. Even if its hot and muggy, they are wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts, all pressed and tucked in and looking razer sharp. I think it is possible to blend in if you are a middle age guy that is reasonably thin (less than 200 pounds) and dresses in a dignified and classy way. So Madaho still has a lot of good looking gals if you ask me. It's just that the set up is hard to see around the corner very well as there could be some jems lurking in the back. I have heard the same thing. New club was supposed to open at the end of May, but who knows when that will happen. It's just down the street from Madahos about half a block on Vicente Lopez.

I was impressed by two things only at Madahos. The chicas and the decor. We arrived at about 12.30 one evening and paid the normal entrance fee, upon entering found the place to be about half full, more guys than girls but the girls that were there, were damn fine. The strippers on stage were to die for, looks wise, their interpretation of erotic dancing was, however, somewhat tame. Overall the place was nicely laid out, somewhat smokey like most of these places, good lighting and adequate seating arrangements.

Over the next hour the place filled up with the ratio of girls to men changing for the better about 60% chica 40% hombres, and the talent just got better and better. With the waiters constantly plying us with delectable snacks we thought we had found heaven until we ordered our next round of drinks, 2 Quilmess (fondly renamed Killme's) 2 pepsis. Placed a $50 on the bar counter and got the funny look from the barlady, placed another $50, received the same unfriendly look, placed another $50, a brief nod and no change, $150 for a round of drinks! My protestations in english received a blank unfriendly response from behind the bar and I reluctantly departed back into the mass of delectable flesh. In sum - this place is sure a lot of work. You have to work your way through the crowds of Portenos in order to get what you want. I didn't like the vibe of all these desperate guys trying to convince unwilling girls that their 100 peso offers were really worth taking. Watching some of these girls cut off these efforts and walk away was an entertaining sight. Some of the Portenos looked stunned, lost, and alone when the trixies stopped talking to them in mid-sentence, turned on a dime, and walked away.
