Couldn't agree more with Saint on crime (BA). Is there crime in BA? Sure. When I was there in June, the restaurant across from Art Suites was robbed at gun point. Can we get mugged or kidnapped ? Possibly! I am not trying to scare anyone. But if you take good precautions (I do not want to repeat them - read previosu posts), the probability is very small. Try to hook up with fellow brothers from the board when you go to the bars. If you are alone, take a cab (radio taxi only!).

I talked to my good friend today that is in BA. He told me he is having a blast. He has noticed no increase in crime. I think this is the 4th trip this year to BA for him. He is going back late October and again in November. Said prices are great now. He is paying less now than at the beginning of the month when I was in town with him. He said he hasn't paid more than 200 pesos for any short time visit with chicas and said many were 150 pesos. The rate of exchange today was 3.7 to the US Dollar so it's GREAT!

I think he is going out with that dude from this board that I hooked him up with. If so, have fun! Also, he is in Buenos Aires so much that he decided to get a cellphone of his own. Cost is $30 US per month. I think he said he gets 100 free minutes outgoing and free incoming calls.

Hi, I have been following this board recently, as I will be going to BA early next year. I really appreciate all of the free flowing info that is shared here. Being from Southern Ca, one problem is the added air fare cost to BA from the West coast. Right now, you can book a RT fare from LA to BA for UNDER $600 for Turkey Day week. This is on Lan Chile, with no stops going down, and 1 stop on the return. You can also get FF miles on American on Lan. Hope this helps someone make the call to go to BA. These fares probably won't last long, so you'll need to pull the trigger! thor

Firstly thanks to all contributors to this and other country forums - this is the best encyclopedia I never had when I was growing up!

I have to agree with the issue of crime. I've visited some dodgy places in my time, Sao Paulo/Havana/Panama/Guatemala/Caracas/New York(!) etc and been to some dodgy areas, however I find that if you don't paint 'VICTIM' across your forehead before you go out then you are generally left alone.

Now, apologies for asking questions that have probably been answered over the last hundred posts or so, but there is only so much I can read without becoming depressed at not being in BA already.
Also, I'm a Brit, so you have to make some allowances....


Any answers, and general relevent tips for a BA virgin would be greatly appreciated.

- What are the 2/3 best hotels that are girl friendly (+ rough cost)
- Would an appt be better

- What's approx cost for 1-2 hours and O/night for a 7 or 8 rated chica in pesos or dollars
- Are clubs best, or the newspaper ads or internet
- Is it a GFE, similar to Brazil for those who might have been there also

I'm planning to visit BA in December, either just before Xmas, or perhaps over X-mas/New Year. Will everything in BA be shut during X-mas? Is there a best time to go to BA?

With all due respect, I have not travelled to BA yet - but when I do in about six months, I will take the time to read the past posts of our brothers and not burden them with the simplistic questions that have been addressed on numerous occasions already. I will let the experts post and be grateful for their energy and effort to share in the meantime. After my experiences, I will do my utmost to repay my fellow hunters with as much relevant information as possible. This is the best flowing location on this web-site. It has civility and intelligent information. Let's not have the "saints" on the board wishing to go private. I respect and appreciate these men and their information too much.

hotels....First time visitors will want to stay in one of two areas: downtown (business/commercial center) or Recoleta (close in residential neighborhood with vibrant night life). There are innumerable hotels, depending upon you price range. The Etoile in Recoleta has been named most often as the headquarters of choice....good security, friendly staff, and location, location, location. Formerly 5 star, now about a 3 as it needs to be refurbished. Expect to pay between 150-200pesos per night, plus tax. Others are listed in the links section.

If you are a first time visitor, I would not recommend an apartment.....there are fewer hassles overall with a hotel.....once you are familiar with the area, an apartment is a great option. Meanwhile, an aparthotel might work for you.....the best of both worlds. Again, see the links for some options...

cost: on average, expect to pay 150-200 pesos for 1-2 hours, plus drinks if she works in one of the chica bars. o/night(TLN) will probably double the cost, depending upon the chica and your relationship with her....some chicas prefer TLN dates with guys they like, others want to do a date or two and go home....generally, I much prefer to wait until I have established a relationship before asking a girl for an overnight date....the cost will be lower if she likes you, and you will know in advance if you want to stay longer with her...

newspaper ads....there may be treasure buried in the midst of all the ads found in Clarin, but generally you will find many more 3s than 7s or 8s through the newspaper. Internet....can be great, but many chicas do not use recent photos or do not use their own photos....www.escorts-argentina.com is an exception...here, WYSIWYG. Platynum, Gemidos, or Area-VIP....maybe, maybe not. Clubs....Be prepared to visit several....a hot club one night may be dead the next. For example, downtown clubs cater to businesspeople and generally do not have as many girls working on weekends...A solid group of clubs to visit as a newbie: In Recoleta--Afairre, Playwomen, Solid Gold and Sodoma. In downtown--Cattos, Hook, Ness, Pipers, Cutty Sark and Cafe Orleans.

When to visit: Many girls will take off for Christmas and not return until toward the end of January...It is summer in BA and many of the girls visit the beach....depending upon when you go in December, it could be good. Last year I was in BA during the first two weeks of December and many girls were working to earn Christmas money......Best time to visit: avoid the middle of summer....Christmas to mid-February, unless you want to go to Mar del Plata's nearby beaches.....

Overall: There is more to Argentina and BA than chicas...take time to see the city and experience its charms.....preferably with a chica on your arm...enjoy

Hi guys, here is another air/hotel package that might work for you from the US to BA. This one is $599 from Miami, and $699 from NYC via United non stop to BA, on a RT basis. Other cities are possible at additional cost. This deal is available from 11/1-12/15; and opens up again from 1/8-3/31/03. XMAS holidays are blacked out. Included in this price is 6 nights at the Lafayette hotel in downtown BA, supposedly a 4 star hotel. Extra nights beyond the original 6 can be added on for only $35 per night. Anyone have any info on this hotel, location, GF friendly, etc? You also get breakfast every day, and a city tour included in the price. The BAD news is that this price is based on double occupancy, and there is a single supplement cost of $200. It might still be worthwhile, if GF friendly, when you add the costs of air and hotel together on their own. For people traveling together, or a 1st timer, it still may be a good deal. Ok, although I agree strongly with jak about dkell70's post regarding doing the basic research, I must confess that I find myself in what I assume to be dkell70's position.

I have been listening silently now for the past few weeks as I plan my trip to BA, only to be confronted by a barrage of sales pitches about flight costs... What are we now, a group of air-fare mongers? Yes, I know we all need to get the best deals, but there is a place for everything…..We have a specific area for ARG. hotels, links, cities, General information, what about something for the flight hunter? If I knew how to go about creating the space for this topic I would do it. Snr. Jackson, your comments?

I say all the above, not from malice, but from frustration. I now only read posts from "well posted" travellers. All this is due to the fact that it's only now that I am in a position to put together a good working plan for my December BA visit. Hey guess what? it's all thanks to Ezy's reply to dkell70's good questions.

Thanks Ezy, you would seemed to have helped more than one traveller (and I suspect there are still a larger number of "lurkers..." who have gained from your invaluable experience.)

I'm new to these specific pages, as it's my first trip to BA (check out my Havana reports....), so the information presented needs to be user friendly; just as your has been Ezy.

I'm new to WSG and very pleased to see everyone enjoying. I am about to take a holiday and argentina was the top candidate till i saw LA Larry's link for pattaya girls.

Boy ! i'm surely in a split decision :-) . I've never been to latin america so was looking forward to some chica action but i have to admit i do have a weakness for asian pussy.

Will someone please compare pattaya and BsAs as 10 day holiday options. this is my only holiday for the year and want a good mix of sight seeing , food and women . (i am assuming that both places give similar bang for the buck).

Jak, apologies if I have spoken out of turn as it were, however I do think that every now and again these basic questions should be asked and answered for those that are either new to the Forum, or new to BA - or simply to provide the latest update on these basic issues that everyone, new or old to the forum, would want to know. The queries were 100% relevant to this board, more so than the large amount of posts on crime, and flight deals from the US - this is a world wide forum, not just a US one!
I had read several of the previous pages before I posted my own queries, but couldn't find one that answered all these basic questions. I simply don't have the time to read hundreds of posts - besides, whats the point, last months information maybe already out of date.

I only recently discovered this forum, so have not posted before.
I went to Havana over 3 years ago, so I don't think my information would be current and I wasn't too successful in the punting scene as I hadn't read this board before I went, so my info would be pretty useless I think.
I will post details of future trips however.

You won't go wrong with either location. I have been to both locales this year and loved both. While your two choices will be vastly different experiences they both offer great bang for your buck on lodging, food, and of course women. I personally prefer the passion of latin women but if asians are your weakness, head east. If you truly love superstar quality asians you may want to consider Macau, although like nearby Hong Kong, there is not much else to do. However I must admit that I have never seen such an absolutely gorgeous collection of women for hire. For about 100us you will be massaged, bathed.blown and banged by some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Club Black in BA. while having a beautiful collection did not even rise to the looks quality level I saw in Macau. But, and this is a big but, BsAs is a helluva lot better place to be for vacation. As well, with the latina women it is much more of a 2 person, jointly passionate experience. I do plan on returning to Thailand to explore some more, but nothing pulled harder on my heart than Bs As. to which I return in Nov.. Big decision royal but either way you win.

I didn't know about macau, let me read up on it. But i think i'm tilting more for BA myself. I've been grinding myself all year in new york and need some real vacation. I expect women to be no more than 10% of the experience of a new place.

Besides flying time and air ticket will be relatively less for argentina.

Is october end / november start a good time to go there ? Is that a good time to meet college gilrs looking to make a few extra bucks?

I have been reading for some time now the current thoughts on the internet girls. It seems about 99% of the reviews are that it is hit and miss any many ads are outright misleading.

Do any of the BA visitors have any positive picks from the net that are confirmed nearly as advertised? It seems even the escorts-argentina site is not 100% accurate. Someone mentioned that they had recently met with Barbarella and she was 20 lb heavier than in her picture. I note that Anastasia has received high marks from several posters.
