Firstly let me qualify that I have not yet visited BA (I am booked to go in December), but I am well travelled to other Latino countries. Also I do not know the ways and wherefores of what the Argentineans will think of your turban (head gear, pagh).
However, I have a number of Sikh friends and when a few of us go out to clubs (in Europe) they take the turban off. They tie their long hair, sleeked back, into a pony tail. This is very effective, indeed very evocative when they dress sharp. Actually, it is very reminiscent of Latino macho-men.
I agree with Andres' last paragraph about sophistication. I have a feeling if you try this method you will fit in more easily than with your pagh on. I would go so far as to say that it could turn into a chica puller.

In a pinch, jump to the short version at the bottom.
*** Narrative version including standard Argentina mantra
Monger or not, there is only a limited number a of 'must see' places in the world, and among these are Argentina and Buenos Aires.
First of all, the peso value thing, it's like something screaming for revenge. At the time I was in B.A. the peso changed 3.6 for a dollar, the average salary was 400 pesos, and you could buy sex not to forget for 200.
Now, if that was third world, that would be normal. But in BA you may very well believe you're in a Paris with the sun, to use a weared-out say.
I don't know jack about the IMF, econopolitics or whatelse, but let me tell you that whoever has brought Argentina to the present condition must have been stealing big time, and for a long time.
For your stay, my personal recommendation is the Art Suites. These are posh mini-apartments with kitchen and jacuzzi in the heart of Recoleta. Among the amenities, you'll be able to monitor the main door on the street on TV. It was nice to see my chicas waving goodbye! As mentioned in the posts in the Hotels section, this place has class and the management doesn't like to see it patronized by slobs. If your plan is to have girls in and out 24/7, it won't be the right place for you. Else, use a little discretion, and you'll be OK.
I was a bit bothered by the fact that WSG was down at that time, and I didn't printed the essentials, but Tio Otto was so kind to send me an abridged version of his hitchhiker guide to BA, thanks Tio !
You'll find all what you need in Recoleta neighborhood. I needed a socket converter for my ThinkPad, and readily got it from the minuscule hardware store next door, that I believe carries as many items as Home Depot. Haircut, restaurants, gym, tanning, pharmacy and more debaucheries aren't more than few doors away.
In the afternoon I was ready to see the city, and why not, visit some apartment ladies, just to familiarize a bit with the place. I called Celeste and turned out to be a good choice. She looks like that soccer mom that you would be happy to screw at home (if I were screwing a soccer mom, I would feel sorry for the kids, as she would be always late to pick them up). She has a nice small apartment on Esmeralda, and she's a very easy person to talk, with a sense of humor, her advertised 'bar service' is actually the coffee that she boils for you. I liked the relaxed atmosphere, we had a beautiful weather and enjoyed plenty of sex in full daylight, no rush and a lot of attention to details.
I don't remember now what I did after that but must have been of little importance, and soon I found myself at Playwoman for the first time. I quickly hooked-up with Andrea, a very pretty young chica, plaited blonde, smooth pale skin and a bubbly personality. Further investigation revealed full C-cup breasts icing a toned petite body. We went to my place and we had quite a good time, maybe a bit rushed because the non-negotiable house rules wanted her back at the club. I asked her to come to visit me next morning for the flag rising ceremony, went to sleep, and when the doorbell rang my heart jumped. But it was just the breakfast instead. She left me her card but I couldn't get ahold of her in the following days, altought I tried.
After another interval of hobby unrelated activities I began toy picking on Platynum again. I think there is a difference with the US regarding ads websites too. Open any American escort’s website and you'll find many ads to be full of BS, sales pitches about how paradisiacal the service will be, and few obscured pretentious pics. Some e-commerce oriented girls even mimic the corporate website with frames, online reservation, and other crap. The Argentinean websites go right down to the business, the main page has pic thumbnails and on each chica's page you find just the necessary info plus some eloquent photos of course. Yes, these pics could be re-touched too but I think it doesn’t happen in too many cases.
Anyway, I was in the mood for a massage and on the appropriate section found Wanessa that was very kind both on the phone and in person. She asked if I wanted to choose another (older) lady there, but I stick with her and proved right. Boys, whoever is the woman who invented the massage+sex combo should be remembered in history, and Wanessa maintained this ancient tradition giving a complete strong and deep massage, in a spacious room with music and fragrances and a good fuck afterward. She kept her revealing smock but allowed no touching during the massage session. This had a definite good effect, stimulated my curiosity and expectations. After the massage that cost just $40, she made me aware of the extras in a very nice way never mentioning a price. So we went to work on the table in various positions. I think that a massage table is actually a great platform for sex, I don't quite understand people that complain about that, do they really prefer a low and soft bed where any good push is absorbed by the mattress rather than thrust into your partner's body? Anyway, she was very accommodating and clean, she left briefly to take an extra shower before I went down on her. I left the place totally relaxed and in one of the best moods since years. I invited her to come to see me at the hotel the following day and we had a nice conversation over lunch at the restaurant on Azcuénaga’s corner, plus a couple of close matches in my room. That day was very hot, and I remember sweating profusely, thing that is also very good for the health if you think about it.
One place that you probably want to avoid is the Triguto (sp?) Club on Cachabuco, that is where any cab driver will try to bring you. I went there out of curiosity, it had few girls and good electronic lounge music, spoke a while with a nice but not-so-hot-nor-young lady, she had kind of high demands, after I told her I wouldn't have meet her price she left me in company of two sharky Dominicans. I perceived bad vibes and quickly left. But it was cool to roam a little in the microcentre, look around while sitting in a cafe', you definitely get the feeling that action is just waiting to happen in a lot of unexpected places.
I meet at least one fellow from a southern State, he is a member of another board that is censored into asterisks when you mention it in a report, and he was having a great time too. Being both very busy businessmen, we just spoke on the phone, but I know he asked one of my chicas her number when he ran into her in the elevator. Nice try buddy, sorry it didn't worked out! :)
I think it was Friday or Saturday afternoon when I decided to call Jimena's ad from the newspaper, turned out to be next block from Art Suites. This girl is very sweet and has really nice long hair, feline eyes, she really intrigued me (sometime I wonder if I don't click just too easily). I wanted to spend more time with, fortunately she had no other dates and after I waited for her to get ready sipping a drink in nice bar around the block we went to Musee' Renault for dinner. This is a classy place and guaranteed to make a good impression. Very nice conversation in sweet company, after that we went back to the hotel where I took control of the situation, meaning I had her to relax and completely enjoy my oral attention plus few other tricks of the trade, and again we had a very good time. The only thing that didn't worked out 100%, is that she expected a bigger donation when she left, maybe for the time spent at dinner, but in all honesty I had gave her the right and more. Anyway she left a business card that disguises her services as an autocare shop, that is a nice idea, isn’t?
Saturday night is a very lively time in la Recoleta, and you will be safe walking among people even at late hours, the small shops will be always open for you to get beer, snacks and condoms. I heard kids singing and talking loud until morning, what a vibrant and youth atmosphere compared to major US cities that seems to be curfew’d after 1:30. Again I felt completely safe, the only sad sight that reminded me of the hard times that Argentina is living now were the people searching garbage for something they can use, or even for food outside the big restaurants that must be discarding big buffets.
Some other day (OK, my recollection has lost any continuity now) I went to Sodoma club instead of Playwomen. I didn’t go to Blacks at all, despite all the reports about the beautiful girls to be found there, over the years I have developed a strong allergy to attitudes (pros and not). Knowing that you're more likely to find that kind of women there, I happily passed on that place.
Sodoma is an OK place, lot of girls and friendly staff. Now you may say that most of the girls in these clubs aren't up to your standards, however I often asked myself, wouldn’t you actually enjoy more if you pick, just for once, the slightly older and softer lady instead of that young hardbody stuck-up biatch? In fact, I did that once in TJ and did not regret it at all. However that was not the case that night and asked the young Amanda to sit with me. I think we danced a little, watched the stripper (that doesn't date) and left. It was funny because she begged me to wait while she was picking up her stuff to leave. She told me that some guys wander around and get distracted as soon they are left alone - LOL. Anyway, off we went and after a pit stop for beer and cigarettes (Saint knows Amanda habits too) we were in my suite relaxing and chatting. I have to say that Amanda speaks pretty good English although I kept practicing my Castellano as the usual. She spoke about lot of stuff, most of it didn’t really made much sense to me, but I came to the conclusion that (1) working girls have their mindtrips too and (2) I like better a girl that talks a lot and fucks with a will rather that a too quiet and passive one. It was really late when she left and I finally crashed for a well deserved rest.
This is pretty much all what I can tell about my first BA trip. This Forum’s tradition wants that I wrap-up the report saying how much I miss it, and how badly I want to be back soon. Well, that's very true, so I took the sure remedy, airplane tickets.
*** Short, factual version
Celeste, from Platynum, 4311-2514. Sweet lady, 30+, soft body, OK face, blonde short hair. Great cowgirl technique (look ma, no knees), looks to me it's her favorite. Great kisser, and great bare blower. p$ 150, no rush.
Andrea - Playwoman 15-5312-3753, young and, blonde pretty face with green eyes and somewhat petite (but not too much) toned body. Very willing to make you happy, good performance for (I think) 200. I don't think she's will do BBBJ.
Wanessa, from Platynum massages 4328-8726. Brazilian, a little too strong and heavy for my taste, not fat at all. Impressive ass and enhanced breasts, not a model's face. She's a trooper and it takes a lot to fatigue her - IF you actually can. Good BBBJ after negotiation. Going rate.
Jimena or Amira on escortsbaires.com, apt. in Recoleta 15-5400-3328 , long brown hair and beautiful cat eyes. Tight body, very sweet and somewhat reserved personality, accommodating if you ask the right way. Everything covered if I remember, no rush and overall a very nice experience. Going rate but negotiate clearly if you want to spend extra time with her.
Amanda, Sodoma. Red-haired (and I mean carrot), skinny, messed-up teeth and smokes. But young, pretty and fun to be with. Speaks English, talks a lot but will make you happy. 150 p$

Birds, robbers, and changes in Buenos Aires
The Peso devaluation has brought a lot of joy to the faces of travelers visiting Buenos Aires, and yet I was wondering how long it would be before some of our favorite clientele woke up and realized that they need to speak up about their situation and ask for some additional help. This was brought to light recently in two different situations.
During the past year or so, I‘ve never discussed a monetary value with a guest, as normally it was not necessary as prices were relatively stable. In the first six months or so of the Peso devaluation, there was immediate benefit to the visitors from the U.S., and a bit of confusion among our some of our favorite people. They did not really seem to understand how their services needed to be adjusted in order to offset this process to their benefit. We increased the Peso amount slightly, and to them that was fine. I faced sticker shock the other day though, when, in the taxi leaving Cafe Orleans, the subject of monetary reward came up. I told her no problem, and we proceeded to have a pleasant afternoon. At the end of the session, she told me that 250 pesos plus taxi was not enough for her, and she demanded 550 for the total mediocre time of 1 and ½ hours. She said that 150-200 pesos was ok for an Argentinean man, but not for a U.S. man. After a few words back and forth, nobody was going to part on good terms. Being tired of the attitude, I just asked her to leave, and that was it. Neither of us was satisfied about the outcome, and this was just chalked up to a bad experience, one of the very few in over three years.
Shortly after this episode, I am still vibrating from all of this, so it is with dexterity that I engage into a conversation with a pretty and affectionate lady for the purpose of dragging her out of Affaire, and into my arms for the rest of the night. She says 300, and I say ok. It was a wonderful night, until it was found out that 300 meant dollars, not pesos. Maybe it was the beers, but I was kicking myself for not clarifying the denomination. I really did feel bad, and she accepted my apology, and we came to an agreement. I will see her again, and maybe this time take her shopping and show her a really nice time. After she left the next morning, sleep took over for the next few hours. Being Sunday, I decided to go out for an afternoon walk to clear my head and think about all of this. These were two different situations, but they happened within about 10 days of each other.
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and Ave. de Julio was very quiet, perfect for walking. Some birds flying over decided it was a good time to practice their bombing runs as well, and I felt some moisture hit my face. At first I thought it was water from an air conditioner, but then three Asian people walking in a group right next to me, pointed out that it was bird shit. A lady had a bottle of water, and started to clean out the spots in my hair, and clean off spots on my shirt and jeans. Then her male friend started in as well. After the initial shock, the defense shields immediately went up, and I began to wonder if I was the target of the mustard scam, where the victim is being cleaned up by “helpful” people, while their money is being taken at the same time. That is one reason I wear jeans while out walking, as it is very easy to protect your money in the front pocket. One guy was really busy around my right front pocket, and I may have been a bit paranoid about all of this, but they did seem that they were really trying to help. I thanked them and stopped by a café to use the bathroom to clean off my shirt. Had this been the mustard scam, the mustard would not have come off at all, and this stuff came off quite easily with cold water. Satisfied that all the shirt needed was time to dry, I continued my walk to Café Orleans, planning to just have a sandwich, and enjoy the scenery, think about the past events, and pickup some small trinkets along Florida Street. I washed my clothes later, and everything came off just fine, but I still wonder how all of this “stuff” got on the back of my jeans as well, and was I the victim of a failed robbery attempt? My health and money were intact, but I will always be curious. Anyway, time to move on and just be cautious in the future.
As warm as it was that day, clothes never seem to dry very fast when you are wearing them, and true to form, one half of the shirt was still wet when I walked into Café Orleans. If there was ever a time I needed a good friend it was now, and there she was smiling at me. It was a girl I have known for a few years, and she as always been a good companion and friend. She asked me, with a smile on her face, if I had fallen in the river. We joked about what had happened, and then I asked her about the rates of the girls for a short time, and told her what transpired before with another girl from the same café. She indicated that 250-300 pesos was normal for a nice, unrushed time. That fact surprised me at first, as just recently, normal time was around 150-200 pesos. After thinking about it though, I believe she and the other girls are finally adjusting to the devaluation of the peso, and now are asking for a bit more. It is still a bargain for visitors from the U.S., but do not be surprised to hear sounds of higher amounts than was custom a few months and even a few weeks ago. Personally, I do not mind, as these girls (except for one) are beautiful inside and out, and can be a really nice friend over time.
So the river rat was talking to his friend, and all was well. She was slowly convincing me that I needed to relax with her in the hotel around the corner, sit in the hot tub together, have lunch brought in, and do all the right things. Later I could walk along Florida Street, as it would be cooler, and I would feel much better. Right during the high point of this discussion, a guy walks in, sticks a gun in the waiter’s ribs, and demands his money. He walked out with small bit of cash, and no one was hurt. This happened in a matter of about 30 seconds. After seeing that, it was quickly decided to advance to the higher stages of relaxation. 350 pesos and about 3hours later, lunch included, I was a new man. I had forgotten just how nice she was, and it was great to re-kindle a friendship. She deserved every penny, and I will see her again.
In closing, I would just like to point out that petty crimes and scams are still alive and well in this beautiful city, and for fellow BA travelers to always be careful. Prices of the ladies will always vary, and many will be with you for less than others. If you have a special lady friend though, or meet a girl that satisfies you in every way, a few extra pesos her way will keep her smiling, and will go a long way towards her looking forward to your return. It is still a bargain for us. Let’s keep it good for them as well.
Enjoy the life,
Moondog

WOW, I guess I that is the end of the "brazil is tooo dangerous" talk. As an American I am always upset to find out when my fellow countrymen start to pay higher than local prices, because "its so cheap for us" they have no idea how this affects the society they are visiting and how it will affect future americans who visit. While people around the world protest globalization, dumb ass tourists decide to make whores the wealthiest people of third world nations. Soon enough when you visit the major breadwinners for the majority of the citizens will be whores...imagine what that does to the image and quality of life for the people there, When women start to make too much men come out of the woodwork and become pimps, you don't want that! because then the greedy pimps will not only put a tax or take all the money you payed the girl but then they will take it even further and set you up, and take everything you came with and if they are desperate enough they will aslo take your life. Never understimate what a human with no choice is capable of. I read an article about a few weeks ago about how "middle class" families in Buenos Aires are dumpster diving for food! Whole Families digging in the garbage looking for food, and the article noted that it is a popular trend, it will only take a matter of time before they go from waiting for it to be put into the trash, to taking it right when it is on sale. I am sorry for my rant, but that story is a little too familiar for me, and I would hate to see it go the way of many other poor countries, especially at such a volatile time for Argentina. To all future visitors I advise you to take be aware, not paranoid and be a little more timid in your spending spree, so that it will be enjoyable when hopefully make subsequent visits. Ciao.

I don't quite understand your message here. Are you simply chanting the old refrain "don't pay too much - don't spoil the market" ?
I have mixed feelings about this approach - there is the macho side that always want to dominate the deal, to go home with the most having spent the less. May be as men paying for sex we would just like to see our donation go toward zero - we have numerours examples by the fellows that aim for non-pro or semi-pro talent and won't spare anyone from mentioning that their total exposure amounted to a round of shopping.
But on the other hand, you have to think that prostitution is, in fact, a great equalizer. No matter what some people say, a typical working girl charges the same to everyone, and when a guy is simply above her tolerance level, he'll get a refusal one way or another. Sure, you'll get a better treatment if you're nice, clean and charming, but at the same time won't you also be inclined to tip more - exactly because you enjoyed a good time ?
I agree that girls that try to gauge customer's wealth should be avoided. In some way, they try to outsmart a job where, all in all, the real deal is somewhere else. I think that a girl that is really after the money, and realizes how much more an American can pay for sex, should focus on getting an US visa and trying her chances there, rather than appraising your wallet when working locally.
But again, searching for food in junk is not a nice thing as I have witnessed too, and if any extra dollar given to a girl can help her brother/kid/boyfriend not do that or to not to commit crimes, I would be happy. Maybe this is a naive tought but we can't be cynical all the time.
These few toughts as an example of how complicated the matter is, everyone is entitled to his own opinion - one sure thing is that this is not the right section on WSG - but hey that's WSG after all. Personally I encourage anyone to do some research on the current prices first, and then spend with fairness and (some) generosity before applying calculation and bargaining skills.
One thing I don't agree however, is that growth in offered sex services in Argentina will necessarily cause exploitation by pimps etc. I think this is more the case when prostitution is confined to streets, due to hypocrat laws or police repression, like the situation in the US and many EU countries that have an %80 foreign working force. Argentina however has a very realistic approach to the matter, most girls are local, so I think that pretty girls will keep making money with no 'protection' and stay indipendent , while aggressive guys will have to resort to something else for a quick buck.

The Rules of Engagement
[blue]Greetings everyone,
While I rarely have time to enter my own personal travel information after answering email and policing the forum every day, the recent postings herein regarding the prices being asked and paid by fellow travelers to Buenos Aires have compelled me to provide some guidelines on the subject.
I have been traveling to Argentina for several years now, including four trips this year and my current month-long stay. I am intimately familiar with the scene here, including all the clubs and venues mentioned and several others that seem to have escaped the attention of the other posters. I've have several friends here, as well as a number of personal relationships with my favorite girls in most of the clubs and bars. I've also had the opportunity to see first hand the effects of the country's recent economic problems on the attitudes of the people and the chicas.
There are just a few rules to follow when hobbying in Buenos Aires, and if you follow them your experiences will be greatly enhanced.
1. The current acceptable price for a session in your hotel with a chica from any of the night clubs and bars EXCEPT BLACKS (see below) is 150 pesos. This number has held firm for several years, although there is some recent upwards price pressure, and I have been asked for 170 to 180 pesos recently. However, 150 pesos is the price that the vast majority of chicas will accept if you are firm.
2. If you do not want to bargain, you can simply offer them 200 pesos, which should be the price that makes the vast majority of them immediately pleased without further discussion. In the past weeks I've paid 200 pesos to several girls, especially if I knew them and I knew that they would provide good service.
3. Any chica that quotes you anything over 200 pesos, including these 250 peso or even the 300 dollar prices described herein, has sized you up as an idiot American tourist and is in fact insulting you with that offer. On those rare ocassions in recent weeks where I was quoted such a price, my reaction is smile quietly and tell the chica to shove off.
4. It's important to know the correct price and to negoiate. I've said this before and I'll say it again: The idea behind negoiating is not to get the chica down to the lowest price, the idea is to pay a fair price. In addition, when understanding the Latina mindset, they will respect you if you are firm. Chalk it up to their culture's sense of macho. If you roll over at the first over-priced offer, they will have no respect for you, an attitide that will manifest itself in the quality of your session.
5. Lately, the girls have developed an anoying habit of asking to be paid in advance, many times waiting until they're half undressed and I've got my pants around my ankles. This is a recent development, and I talked with several friends of mine in the business about it. Apparently there have been a number of Argentine men who have simply claimed poverty at then end of the session. Okay, that's understandable, but what's that got to do with me? Anyway, I strongly suggest that you always maintain a strict policy of paying when finished, if for no other reason than "sex is always better when I pay afterwards". A couple of times on this trip I was confronted with requests for payment in advance, upon which ensued a short discussion that if failed to produce a resolution, led me to start putting my clothes back on while telling the chica to get dressed and that I would accompany her back to the club. This unprecidented series of events always left the chicas completely speachless, to be followed by an immediate change of heart.
6. If a chica agrees to a price and then starts to change her mind at any time in the process (such as during a cab ride), just tell the driver to turn around and take her back to the club, bar, cafe, etc.
7. If there is any doubt as to the clarity or demoniation of the price, and simply as a good policy, ask her to write it down on a piece of paper or napkin, and then specifiy "pesos" or "USD". Afterwards, put the paper in your pocket in case there is a dispute later.
8. If a chica quotes you in dollars, insist on pesos, or get another chica.
9. If you are in Blacks, all the above rules are off, but then again, if you are in Blacks you are already making a mistake. Blacks is entirely over-rated, filled with baracudas looking for foreign tourists, and, inspite of the reviews of some posters herein, Blacks DOES NOT have a better selection than the other places in town. Over the years, I've probably gone in there a dozen times with the specific intent to pull a chica out of the place, and every time I've left alone.
10. Above all else, and assuming that you have the Spanish skills, always ask everything in advance. It's not very romantic, but I've learned from experience to tell them what I will pay, when I will pay it, and that I insist on a BBBJ. When you're still in the club or bar is when you have all the control.

Jackson,
Thanks for a great post. I agree wholeheartedly about
A. Not paying in advance.
B. Paying a fair price...neither cheating the girl or being cheated. The price you quote (150-200pesos) is exactly what I have paid for over a year, including my last trip in August.
C. Blacks.....too many guys assume falsely that you have to pay more for "quality." Wrong.
-
Jackson is right about the prices. I offered 200 pesos the last trip to every single internet girl and all accepted that offer (except one girl from Platynum whom I payed 250 pesos). I don't like to negotiate back and forth sometimes so it was nice that they accepted 200 pesos. I'm sure I could have gotten a little lower but it wasn't worth my time haggling over 25-50 pesos.
My first trip many girls asked to be payed ahead of time. If you read my earlier posts you'll remember that. I asked why and many said the same thing that Jackson mentioned. They said that many locals have been stiffing them after sessions. The thing you have to realize is from their point of view they have very little or NO recourse if a guy does this. They can't really go to the police...unless they happen to be dating one of them.
My latest trip last month I don't think any of the girls asked for the money up front. I'd rather pay after but I don't argue if they want the money upfront. The one thing I would mention is that I don't let a few pesos stand between me and a girl I'm lusting after. I've met tons of guys that are lusting after a hottie in a bar. They don't end up visiting with her because they have this mental block in their head that they won't pay over 200 pesos. Even if a girl quoted only 50 pesos higher. Everyone has their own opinion but to me this is idiotic. If I really want to see a girl and she won't budge on her price and it's only 50-100 pesos above what I want.... I'll just do it sometimes. 50 pesos = $13 US.
I agree with Jackson's thoughts on Blacks. Blacks to me is about just shaking things up sometimes. More times than not I've left without a chica but several times I've tagged a girl from Blacks. Yes, I paid more than other clubs but didn't regret my decision. It wasn't that I didn't see a girl that I'd want. Many times they'd ask for pie in the sky numbers and I would just walk away.
I can't wait to go back down there! Life is good.
-
jackson, great update.
and the rest, i'll be in b.a. by friday am, with a couple of u.s. friends..., look me up in the artsuites. i'll post next week after i return.
-
Thank You, Jackson.
I think you are right about the prices. I am no expert in BA hobbying, having spent a total of only three nights on my last two trips to BA, I have always paid between $150-$200 pesos for the three chicas I have taken to my hotel. I remembered the first chica I took was from Solid Gold and she asked for $100 USD. When I told her no she lowered the price to $250 pesos. We negotiated down to $200 pesos. On my last trip both girls went for $150 pesos. One of them did ask for $100 USD but when she saw I was not interested she said it was a joke and the price came down to $150 pesos eventually.
While everyone should pay what they think is reasonable, we should stick together to keep prices at a certain level. Also we don't want to spoil the fun for our Porteños friends by driving the prices up.
I also agree with Jackson about being firm. It's not being macho, it's culture. Latinas expect the man to be firm but they also know how the get us to think with the little head..............

Month Long BA Mongering Adventure - November 10-December 10
I've booked a flight from NYC to Buenos Aires via Aviana Airlines - $501, including tax.
I'll be there for an entire month, from November 10-December 10, staying at least for the first few days at Etoile, then probably moving to an apartment in Recoleta.
I figure that's a good time to monger, as the Fall weather is on average in the 80's - not too hot- and yet not high tourist season and pre Christmas: a period with few tourists and lots of incentive for the chicas to earn some extra pesos.
I'm a gourmet hobbyist, experienced at the hobby in Latin America, speak Spanish OK and know some locals that are friends and/or I have some business dealings, so I won't be going as a total gringo. I will be all over the place (except for internet chicas), checking out the usual tourists clubs in Recoleta and downtown. but also venturing into some local scenes, hopefully not settling for less than 9's and 10's, and with a budget to fully enjoy the experience.
I may also check out MDP and La Plata and I have one month, enough time to cultivate amateur's and semi-pros as well. Expect a frank and detailed report in the best tradition of our beloved Tio Otto.
If you want to hook up and go mongering together during that time email me at ww2001us@yahoo.com

Jackson, great post, very informative! I especially like what you said about telling the girl when you'll pay and telling her what you'll pay for since I'm not too fond of this "please pay me now" stuff either.
Since I'll be going to BA early November and am interested in some of the internet chicas, can you tell me what is an acceptable offer to the internet hotties to come to my room for a nice, unrushed visit? What about toda la noche? Saint, can you help me out here too please? Thanks, DownBA
