Oldguy,
Sorry you didn't get to stay too long in Nuevo Estilo Boliche but I can guarantee you and all the other boardmembers that this is no tourist trap. You're right that it's a little unusual for there to be a cover charge but I paid it and it was a small price to pay for the little 21 year old cutie that I was with two nights in a row. As for it being a tourist trap, no way, if you go in there and you're speaking English it's highly unlikely that a single girl will be able to muster up even the most basic conversation in English with you. The strip show's great, they get right down to it and you don't have to wait 10 minutes of dancing just to see their tits. Anyway, sorry you missed it, maybe next time but I plan on going back there early next month when I hit BA. DownBA

DownBA,
Thanks for the info. I think Oscar just wanted to show me the place that he and his amigos like. While I think he was trying to show me a good time, when I mentioned that we check out NEB, I think I probably pissed him off a bit. He's the expert, and here's this gringo suggesting a place. Anyway, when I get through with work tomorrow, I'll probably find my own way out to NEB. I'll report back on the results.
Saint,
I had a nice talk with Sandy on the phone a couple of days ago. I was trying to arrange an appointment for today (Sunday) or early in the week. Unfortunately, she's going to be travelling out of town, but she said to give her a call in case her plans change. I enjoyed the talk and would like to meet her. Maybe on my next trip.
Sunday nights in Bs As are dead. I walked past Orleans, but what I saw through the windows scared me. Went back to my hotel and called about 15-20 Internet girls, most of whom had turned off their cell phones. That's fine; better than getting a voicemail request and wondering if they'll call back. Finally, got an appointment with Carolina of sensualbaires, for the now standard 100 peso/hour. God! I've died and gone to heaven. Let's see, I can buy a little two-bedroom home in California, or I can screw my mind out for the next 400 years in Bs As. What'll I do?
Carolina is actually much cuter than her pictures show. She's all of about 5' tall, has a really beautiful face, and a very nicely proportioned pixie body. Unfortunately, she's from one of the large, and sad, groups of working girls in Latin America: a single mom. For me, this presents two problems: she no longer had the fantasy body she had a year ago, and I have a hard time getting all cranked up when the poor woman is turning tricks to keep her kids in food. It's a lot easier when you know she's just trying to make payments on her Beemer. I'm sure there are similarly sad stories with some of the other chicas, it's just not as obvious as with the moms. Carolina was actually quite funny, worked hard at it, and got a nice tip. Through no fault of her own, it didn't do much for me.

-------------
I would say - screw my mind out for the next 400 years in Bs As.
The alternative - living in a tiny two-bedroom home in California, watching TV and going to the local bar to talk about the latest episode of Survivor, Yankee game, the D.C. Sniper results, will seem fairly unsatisfying with what you've experienced. It will be hard to go back to that.

mcse,
Again, thanks for all the great info. I'm currently on line from my hotel at 52k through your free ISP service. One thought ocurred to me--I really don't believe there are free lunches. What do the free ISPs get for their service? Are my logons, passwords, etc. being bagged?
Semi-concerned in Bs As

Just got a call from American Airlines on November 19th flight to BA. They are changing flights and times. They were trying to put us on a flight with longer travel time and worse seats.
Does anyone know what the airline rules are in this situation?
Has anyone recently experienced something similar with American Airlines and how was it resolved?

Hey!
Well, is not free. You pay the local call.
When you connect with a "paid" ISP you only pay the 50% of the local call. These free ISP's belongs to Telefonica & Telecom, they want to increase the local calls. That's it.
There are free ISP's since 1999 in argentina but they increased since 2001.
The only bad news is that i've overheated my modem (2 years ago) by using an argentinean ISP (Ciudad, a paid ISP connection), sometimes, phone lines are overpowered, so this may cause troubles with modems, most people use UPS units to protect themselves.
Regards, amigo, your posts are really good, are you a journalist, writer, or something?

You better hurry, may be Mennem assume the presidence again in march, if this happens, things will be like 10 years ago. The currency (as promised and advertised by Mennem) will be 1 peso = 1 dollar.
Regards.

mcse,
Thanks, that's interesting to know about the ISP. Thanks, too, for to complement on writing--I'm just a horny old bastard that likes playing around with chicas, and I guess it comes it in the writing, so to speak.

I haven't read the board in days. Haven't read all the new posts but thought I'd tell you how ironic it is that I went down to Mexico City this weekend. The two girls I hooked up with were from Brazil and Buenos Aires! How funny. Too bad their prices weren't as cheap.
I just posted a report in the Mexico City section. Good luck fellas.

My advise:
websites:
I'm an expat (italian) and i've living in BA about 3 years.
I made platynum site and others so I tell you:
Platynum girls are allways fake. Even those who seems amateurs pics.
Anyway, may be 2 or 3 exeptions. I no longer administrating the site.
**********************************************
MCSE,
Why do you say that you made the Platynum site? The owners of www.platynum.com.ar and www.escorts-argentina.com are very good friends of mine, and these sites were started with just four people. They do not include you, and you never did administer the site.
The photos of www.platynum.com.ar are not fake, only the ones with the blue * inidcated by their description. Many of the girls have managers, about 85%, but the photos are not fake as I have been with many of the girls and their photos do match and are constantly updtaed.
Good information is appreciated, but only when it is factual and honest.

Who are you? Are you Richard or Jose Barletta?
You right. I NEVER administered the platynum site.
in case you are Richard, it's all ok. my fault. I just wanted to make here a little speech, in order to mantain the best i can my english writing. (too bad but i try).
in case you are Barletta: Fuck you!
in case you are other person, i just tell you that you gotta be careful with Ricardo Diez.
This could be a little out of topic, but let me explain the others boardreaders how developed
the history of escorts sites in Argentina and how they works:
First of all. I'm out of business since late y2k. I used to work in a bank, then the bank leaved the country, same thing i'm
trying to do. Doing. In fact, i just wanna get out of this fucking country. Where bad guys are rich and powerfull and not mob people are victims who can't do anything against them.
Living in BA is dangerous as Colombia and worst than Maryland, 'cause you can't trust in police /gov. auth. here. Themselves are the mob.
1. Big sites those don't belong to a borthel are now just a few.
2. An escort site or "advertising prostitution services in any way is forbidden by law". In fact, the exercise of prostituion is also illegal.
3. When sluts or borthels doesn't pay to police or control authorities, they are taken to jail. (not the authorities, obviously). And many times you
can see it on the local tv news, especially cronica TV. For complicated mind readers: I guess this, just because i've seen a couple of operations per year,
newspaper is full of advertising (www.clarin.com.ar they have online ads under rubro 59), so i think to myself: Those police authorities are blind or what?
Does they make control of prostitution or not?
4. In the early y2k, with the new economy blooming, many amateurs (not MOB connected people) started escort sites, platynum and sensualbaires was
the market leaders, but in a few months, agressive marketing from competitors was taking away market shares.
5. So MOB connected webmasters of bigger sites started to push borthels, also giving soborns to police to stop the competition.
The closer case i knew, is a Russian who wanted to stop abusive payments to platynum and by now is out of business. With a short previous visit to jail.
Remember this Barletta?
6. In my oppinion there is dumping and abuse.
Anyway, I say no more, i'm not seeking trouble.
And Moondog: you know i saw (1999) a Gina Jameson picture advertising like a local **** in your site. I realized Platynum has the best girls in the world!!
-
I agree with Moondog 100% Factual and correct information is always important. It's so easy these days to try to get a point across and either leave something out or "embellish" it a little. The reason why this forum is so popular is because of the great guys that take the time to contribute FACTUAL and informative info.
Mcse, I think everyone appreciates your information. Anyone that has seen several girls can tell you that not everything is all glamorous about this business. These girls go through a lot of sh*t to do what they do. Remember this when you're seeing them.
I really commend everyone on this board for being gentlemen. We can all agree to disagree at times but it's important to do so in a civil way.
It's amazing just how many people all over the world read this site. I was on a plane with some stranger last trip and he was telling me about this "board full of all this cool information". He was telling me about one guy named the "Saint". Ha, ha. He was stunned when I told him it was me. Also, while I was in Mexico last weekend the same thing happened with that guy I met. He asked me if I posted on any boards. I told him my handle and he started laughing. He had read my material.
Keep up the great work guys. Life is good.

MCSE, I am not either one of those people. I am just a person that loves the ladies as we all do, and have known the staff of www.platynum.com.ar and www.escorts-argentina.com personally for about 3 years now. They are very close friends of mine, and are very good people. I know how hard they have worked to bring their business to its present level and reputation, and that is why I came to their defense. I appreciate your “history” of the scene in BA.

Platynum is not my site, as I am just friends with the owners. I do not know Gina Jameson.

Guys:
I think that MCSE is partially right:
1) The escorts business is pretty like a maffia in Buenos Aires. I read several horror stories:
1.1) SIDE agents (SIDE is our CIA) involved in managing a network of brothels along with police officers (Mr Martins and the HELP, Tributo and others boliches)
1.2) A current (yes, CURRENT) judge having been caught in a plot for murdering gay brothels managers (Dr. Oyarbide, Mr. Garbellano and the Espartacus boliche)
1.3) A famous group pf brothers managed Cassandra (a former brothel in Av Forest and Av de los Incas) and Dolly's (currently, La Nuit in Flores). In 1994, one of these brothers burned the house of a $300,000 debtor in Flores called Bagnato, killing the whole family but a young teenager.

(read "In search of the Blue Connection" - En búsqueda de la Conexion Azul)
Sorry, but those are in Spanish. Translate them using www.translate.ru (it's free) or any similar service.
My intention is not to scare you, just to inform you. I've been mongering since 1989 in Buenos Aires and I'm still alive and in one piece.
2) I don't believe that MCSE cannot leave Argentina. He only needs $400-500 to get away from there. Anyone can save that money by skipping 10 sessions with girls, so not a very big deal.
Foreigners should be aware that we Argentinians (or most of them, to be fair) are used to complain and whine, speaking out intentions that we really don't have. If you see the long lines of people in the Spanish and Italian consulates in Buenos Aires, you will perceive that the most difficult hurdle to leave the country is to get the Italian or Spanish passport. After that, most people can travel to Europe. I can't believe that an EU passport holder cannot gather $500 to buy a plane ticket to Rome or Madrid. If I were in his situation, I would sell my car or furniture if necessary.
3) There should be a pushy attitude from the police or the courts to competitors of Platynum, Gemidos and the like. Throughout the last 5 years, I noticed that few websites survived, and those who did didn't display significant advertsing, so most of the fees should come from girls to get their pics posted.
Since maintaining such sites isn't very expensive in Argentina, I believe that there is some mob-like attitude from the leaders to competitors.
4) I don't want to offend anybody, but people who work in this business managing service providers can barely have "good reputation" (I respect girls, no pimps). They may be friendly to foreigners, but not necessary fair players in their business.
Hope this helps and, please, nobody get offended. As other posters say, "life is good".
