Question to the board about Palermo Viejo. What are 1 or 2 of the highest paying cambios in PV. I will be staying in a apartment on the Borges 2000 block and Paraguay is the cross street. How nice is this area and where is the best seafood restaurant in this area.

Most banks use the exchange rate when the transaction clears not when it happens. The exchange rate is slowly creaping up, I would recomend not using any cambios and only using an ATM card. (whatch out for fake money)
If you insist on using Cambios I don't know any good ones in PV but if you go the Galaria del Sol at the corner of Florida and Paraguay, enter on the Paraguay side and go into the little leather shop slightly to the right when you get inside (Big Fat guy sitting out front, Blonde Russian lady behind a little screen. I've used them a gozillion times and they consistantly have the best exchange rate.
Is this leather place in walking distance from where I am? Atm's charge fees to use. In mrazil the cambios pay more than the atm's w / o the fees. How do I use the atm with my WAMU check card.

Take the 152 bus down Santa Fe get off at Plaza San Martin walk two blocks I think to Paraguay there is the Galaria del Sol.
Is there a kiosko nearby? Is there a Freddos nearby? Is there a bus stop nearby? Is there a Inidian restaraunt nearby? Is there shirt store nearby? Is there a public phone nearby? Is there a Norte nearby? Is there a subway nearby? Is there a cambio nearby? What color is the ATM? How far is it to Peru from Palermo? Does this shirt make me look fat? Did we cover all your inane questions?

As you can see, I'm not a frequent poster. But I figure I'll weigh in.
I was just down in Buenos Aires for the first time. I read the forum, did the research and then just played it by ear down there. It's really, really not that tough. Buenos Aires is a very easy city to get around - and if you have any questions just ask them when you are down there. Oh. And use Roxanne's services. She was very helpful.
I will impart one piece of advice. Don't expect to get money out of an ATM on Monday morning. It seems they generally get refilled after the weekend sometime during the day and I was unlucky enough to have to try 5 of them one day (it might have been after a long weekend) before I was able to get money.
Sooner or later, I'll give you guys a detailed report on my trip. I saw about 7 girls while I was there. All were Internet chicas, except for one from 1707. Of the girl's, 5 out of 7 were incredible. Prices paid ranged from $100 to $200 Pesos - and the best of the best was a $100 Peso girl. I chose the girls through research on this site, as well as a similar Spanish language site. The research definitely paid off. I visited Black's and Excedra, although I did not draw from either. Black's was toooooo expensive and the girl's in Excedra were a little too tired looking for me. I also visited another apartment on Sante Fe, but had no problem leaving because the girls didn't appeal to me.
Anyways, just don't be afraid to go down there and figure things out while you are there. As to girls, for a newbie, Roxanne will set everything up, including how much you have to pay. It's real easy. Also, if you have the chance, try and learn a little Spanish before you go down. Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone both have beginners Spanish lessons. That's all I needed.
So enough with the stupid questions.

Exactly right. Come down and check things out. Do a little reasearch. It is not that difficult. If you need some help ask and guys will respond. I even helped JF out once when he asked about gyms in Recoleta. But I won't tell him where a dry cleaner is in Palermo Viejo and how much they charge to clean a suit and if it is too much money, how much just to press the pants and what kind of hangars do they use. And how long does it take to get the suit done. I could care less.
PS: Who was the 100 peso chick. We need to know!
I arrived in Ba about 2pm instead of 9am, as was the plan. American Airlines screwed me up again with their constant fucking delays.checked into my apartment in PV for 250 us per week.Great deal.since I didnt want to go to sleep and wake up at 2 in the morning, I decided to just stay up and do the 35 hours with no sleep and go to bed about 4 or 5am. I went to Paris cambio and recieved 2.95. Had a haircut for 15 pesos, and ate some great seafood around the corner. The subway system is pretty great and made things much easier. About 9pm I went to Cafe Excedra and took a look. I wasn't very happy. These girls would make hugh hefner turn gay. I then walked over to Cafe Orleans and it was more of the same thing. The girls were skanks. The cafe places were very nice and upscale but the girls werent to my liking. I walked a little more and a barker told me to check out his club for free. I said sure. It was the club across from a restaurant called "My House". There were about 5 girls there and only one was hot. She was about 5'9 with a body that killed. I spoke to her on the sofa and found out she gets off at 2. I made plans with her to to meet at a cafe for 150 pesos when she was off. I know the odds of these girls standing you up are pretty high but I wasnt paying this place an hourly rate in drinks. I then checked out Cattos, Hook, Madahos, Solid Gold, and a place called Sims. All clubs let me look for free. Sims had a show with girls stripping so I decided to pay the 40 pesos and hang out there. The other clubs were kind of slow with no strippers. The clubs gave me the run down on how they work. They wanted me to pay about 50 or 60 pesos for every hour that I took the girl out. I don't do the hour thing at my apartment so at 3 hours I would be paying 180 pesos plus 150 pesos for the girl, throw in the entrance fee of 35 to 40 pesos, and these places are expensive. I didn't like the whole setup of all these places. I wish they would just make the money off the entrance fees and charge 5 dollars for all future drinks like Help. Anyway, the girls at Sims were pretty hot. I stayed there until 1:30 and didn't take any girls home. I walked over to the cafe and of course the girl didnt show up. I was pretty tired at this point so I wasn't too pissed. In summary, I found all the girls would go with me for 150 pesos but the bar fine would cost more than the girls. Tonight I check out Blacks and Affaire.
I don't know how can anyone come to BA and able to hold off more than four hours after landing in the land of plenty. You guys must have more will power than I do. In fact I don't even schedule any appointment on the first day since one can never sure the exact arrival time. I don't want to have to wait for the chica after I settle into the hotel. I must cruise to one of my favorite privados and drop what Member #3313 calls it "Inter-continental Carried Load" right away.

I have been to BA now 4 times between December 2002 and November 2004 and had fantastic times! But when I am there I seem to calm down and adjust to the fact that I can have amazing sex every day with whichever lady takes my fancy. However being stuck back in freezing northern Europe with a constant hard on I am going insane checking out all the new babes on the Argentinian escort websites. It seems like a never ending production line of new talent.
So I was wondering, maybe this is a bit of a general question, but how does the scene seem now compared to a couple of years ago after their economy crashed? Are as many new ladies going into the business, is their attitude still as good, and what are the average prices for an escort girl, 100 - 150 pesos, or more? The reason I am asking this is because the more the argentinian economy improves and the peso creeps up, I keep expecting the escort scene to collapse as ladies find more 'typical' jobs.
But it doesn't seem to be happening, and I don't think it will, becuase to me, being an escort just seems to be a fairly standard way of making some extra cash in BA and nothing to be ashamed of. Damn I love those BA women! I can't wait to come back in a couple of months, assuming the peso does not go through the roof and Argentinian ladies suddenly become as shy as nuns! Somehow I cannot see either of those two things happening, knock on wood. Any thoughts?
I've been to BA 3 time in the last 2 years and the mongering I've done usually includes the Triangle, Newport, and the internet sites. Yes Newport. There are a few nice ones to be had for the 150-200 ARS range. I usually pay 200 for a 1 hour session, but I've found a few 150's that were just as good.
I'm very picky about quality and service. BBBJ is a given and multiple pops if I'm up to it.
I'm planning to be in BA in either Feb. Or March, maybe we'll meet up and chase some pussy.
Well, even though I only completed 3 nights, I will make this the last report. This place sucks. I can't believe all the positive reports about this place. Someone said this place is better than Brazil. He must be out of his god damn mind. After the 3rd night, I saw every club. The only one with hot chicks is Madahos, Blacks and Sims. With their bullshit policy of paying girls per hour in drinks, its to goddamn expensive here. The rest of the girls are skanks at the other clubs. The cafe's are awful. As I said before, I'm not into the hour sessions at my apartment or internet girls. I don't want to use Roxanne, since I like to talk to the girls in person and see if I hit it off. The only good thing about this place is the safety, buying power for food and all things non-chicas, and the people are friendly. I'm sticking with Brazil and hope the Real goes in the toilet in the next year. I hate to be so blunt about your favorite country but the truth must be told comparing this place to Brazil. Hell, Costa Rica is better than here.

This place is a great place to bring a regular girl from the US or if you already have a regular girl here. The food is incredible and so so cheap. Besides girls, this is the cheapest place on the planet. I had pizza and a Flam dessert which were fucking incredible. The pizza cost me 6 bucks! And the Flam which is the best I ever had in my life was 1.50. Amazing how such a simple dish like pizza can taste so different and so much better in another country. America is really short changing us on the quality of pizza. Ive never had pizza in new york but I doubt it could be as good as here or brazil for the same price. The worst pizza I had in brazil was better than the best pizza in the US. Back to the chicks. When I was in madahos, the lowest I could get a girl to go was 300 pesos for only one hour! That sucks. Anyway, I am heading to Blacks now. Whats the deal with these clubs being empty until 12:00 or 1am. Thats another thing I don't like.
Your report was no surprise, neither was the impression you had of BA. You must have posted 25 prior questions about BA that were progressively annoying and too finite (for example: What are 1 or 2 of the highest paying cambios in PV? Who the F*** knows) It was inevitable that you would not enjoy your trip because you needed to know too many specifics.
As you stated: The only good thing about this place is the safety, buying power for food and all things non-chicas, and the people are friendly. Damn man, the ladies are fine and the other aspects of BA are what makes this such a great place. You won't use internet chicas, you won't use Roxanne - a great resource for a first timer, you want three hour sessions for the one hour price, you want girls to meet you after work instead of before work when they can be more flexible with their prices, you go to the most expensive clubs in town and you do not check out any apartments where you have girls delivered for 100 pesos an hour! You come to a large metropolitan city and want the system to adjust to your terms and conditions. Remember you are competing with other mongers who may pay more or less. It is easier to pay a little more than the cheap clients and get what you want. Paying less against corporate types in Blacks and Madahos is chancy, but it can be done.
Enjoy Brazil which not safe, has about the same buying power for worse food and the people are ready to rob you everytime you walk out of your hotel.
