Cordoba not that interesting
Perhaps I was jaded by the great time I had in Mendoza but I found Cordoba to be dull. I arrived on Saturday late afternoon and stayed at the Wilton near the San Martin plaza about 230 pesos and very decent by international standards. I checked out 4-5 hotels the next day and they were rather dated. The star system is bullshit. The 5 star Interational had 1.5 star rooms and a nice lobby etc. The pedestian district was DEAD from my arrival until my departure on Monday AM. The only restrurants were pizzeria type places. The shopping mall was mobbed on the second floor with hundreds of families eating at the fast food places. I walked for miles. The next day I explored the (can't remember) area about 3 miles out of downtown. This was the 'place' to eat with the upper and middle class everyone said. Give me a break! It had all the charm of El Camino Real in Sunnyvale or a strip mall.
The girls are the least attractive I've seen in Argentina. I did not even try. Forget Cordoba and enjoy the charming Mendoza or Rossario or Patagonia towns.
Experience with cordobesas
I agree that it is an exageration to say that they are ugly. I managed to meet a non-pro who showed me around in a recent trip and what I saw were very nice looking babes. The pros are probably mostly from the rural areas, where finding gems its harder. But looking at the pictures that are posted I think that many Cordobesas can stand tall.
