I paid $119 cash for 50x50mg sandoz at Esquina Suipacha why Correintes last week, fyi. Still an incredible deal.
Pardon my ignorance but:
Do such pills simply make you hornier or do they just enhance endurance once aroused?
Do they heighten the pleasure?
How does one feel when you've popped one in anticipation of action and then for whatever reason failed to find any?
How long prior to an anticipated session should they be taken?
Can one return to normal performance after a period of time using them? Or do they become required enhancement after prolonged usage?
A lot of questions I know, but some answers would be very welcome.

Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis all work by enhancing blood flow to the vital parts. As Exon so elegantly point out, they help you achieve an erection, but they don't "give" you a hardon; stimulation is still required. The pills don't make you horny. If you don't get stimulated, the drug will wear off and life goes on (but just thinking "dirty" thoughts is enough for me) After you have an orgasm, the erection disappears.
Viagra and Levitra start working in about 30 minutes, and will remain effective for about 8 hours. Cialis takes longer to take effect, but can last for 36 hours. Everyone is different and these times are approximate. Cialis has the benefit of getting in one more pop in the morning before it wears off.
But as in life, nothing is free. You pay for this magic with the after-effects. Most common is a headache- kind of like a flu headache that lasts for a long time. The second most common is an acid stomach, especially with Cialis. A good antacid, like Pepcid AC is recommended. This can last for 2 days after the initial use.
The advantage of these drugs is that they help achieve and maintain an erection, which gets harder (no pun intended) as you get older. If you don't need it, don't take it.
Again, the disclaimer is that every individual will react differently, and YMMV. The only scary part, which Exon alluded to, is that erections lasting longer than normal are dangerous and should be treated by a doctor (don't ask what he has to do to get it to go down; you don't want to know) Happy mongering.
Most of this thread seems to be about Viagra. I don't like Viagra and it's side effects. Cialis works well for me.
Can some-one clarify for me if Cialis is available in BA without a prescription? If yes, is it all original Cialis or is a generic available? Where is it available? What's the cost?
I'd appreciate some clear answers to prepare for my visit which comes up soon.
Cialis is available without a prescription and can be bought at any pharmacy. I don't know about generic. I think no.

Maybe some of you gents only get laid in Baires, but if, hypothetically, you wanted to bring some vitamin V back to the US just in case you got lucky at home, what precautions should be taken, if any?
I just got my first prescription for V from the doc to bring along on my trip next week. Not really for the pharmacy, since it sounds like no problem for the most part, but for getting through US customs. I've got an Rx for 10 pills, but would like to get at least a hundred or so, for me, since I've been getting some good hot pusz in my home town lately, and perhaps as stocking stuffers for some 50+ why. O. Colleagues at work.
Any of you gents have experience with customs in this regard?
I brought 100 back last year. Nobody batted an eye. They were in my backpack (to prevent those TSA scumbags to steal them)

I purchased 4-20mg of Cialis for $$115 pesos at the pharmacy that is located outside the Pueyrredon subte station on the subte D line.
All I had to do is show them a paper with the name "Cialis" written on it.
At Pharmacy on corner of Suipacha / Corrientes Sildenafil (generic viagra) is 24AR$ for 10 and 104AR$ for 50. Box is labelled Sildenafil 50mg.
There is no generic for Cialis, certainly in the UK
I arrived in BA today. Will run out of viagra in a few days. Actually I use a generic version that I buy in St Maarten, but it is the same active ingredient. I went into farmacity on Las Heras near Junin and the pharmacists looked at my empty pack and said only with a prescription. By reading this thread I think I should just try again at a couple of other places.

I just tried the RP farmacia on the corner of Junin and Las Heras (50 meters away from the Farmacity) and got 20 x 50mg sandoz (he said they didn't have my brand, but a different brand, 'otra marca' in spanish, no problema I said) it was just Farmacity taht was pcky about a prescription or just the pharmacist there that I taled to. I thnk the price was 31 pesos total. About the same price I pay in St Maarten for generic V.

Zing[/QUOTE]If the price is in fact 31 pesos for 20 X 50 mg of Sandoz, then that certainly is the cheapest price I've seen recently. The latest best price I heard was about 102 – 105 pesos for 50 X 50mg.
I bought 100 50 mg pills for 200 P. Tax included.

They speak English there, if that is an issue.
Went to Suipacha / Corrientes corner pharmacy, I was there a few days before but it was so busy I couldn't bear the thought of asking for Sandoz in front of all those people. Anyway, I finally got the courage and asked a guy, he refered me to the really large woman in the white coat.
The biggest box they had was 50 x 50mg, she put it in the till and I mentioned the discount for cash and she said you get 40% off! It came to 110 pesos. I totally forgot that was the going rate for 50, I thought this is the rate for 100 pills! So I started haggling and said a friend of mine got 100 for that price! She said absolutely no way. It was funny at the end I realized my mistake and paid for it. (By the way except chicas I have not managed the get 1 peso off anything in Argentina by haggling - is it not a latin country!
I tried a couple of them already, it's the same as any other generic Viagra I got from DR and Thai. Although still I get bad heartburn and a lot of acid problem (I've tried all remedies / pills and nothing can quite cope - any of you guys managed to tackle this.
Anyway, this works out 4.4 pesos for each 100mg, not bad at all, I'm only wondering if I should get another 50, but I guess it could be all confiscated at London Heathrow if searched.

Have you tried prilosec. You need to take prilosec on more or less a daily basis if you want to prevent Viagra heartburn.
Taking Prilosec when you take the Viagra is not going to help much unless you already have prilosec in your system. It takes a few days to be fully effective
Prilosec is cheap in argentina and you don't need a prescription. In the United States it is over the counter.
In Argentina they probably don't have brand name Prilosec so you need to ask for the generic name which is omeprazole. Comes in 10mg, 20mg and 40 mg. They all cost the same so take the 20mg or 40mg once daily.
I noticed you mentioned "confiscated at the airport." I am bringing my own Cialis and Xanax into BA. Has anyone ever had a problem at the BA airport?

If you have a prescription you can bring in a few months supply. This applies to most countries.
On the other hand without a prescription I have never had a problem, coming or going.

I've never been stopped at airports anywhere so far, so I am just guessing about what happens.
Today I went to the farmacia at Corrientes and Suipacha and bought some of the generic viagra.
They didn't have the boxes of 50, but the guy at the counter said not to worry and he would give me the same price, and I ended up with 4 boxes of 10, and 10 boxes of 2. A fair pile of pills.
I ended up paying 125 pesos for it, which perhaps is a little over the going rate, but with currency depreciation starting to happen now, who knows.
A warning for those that are shy, at least in this farmacia, the process is to first go to the counter and get the pills, then you have to go to the caja to pay for them, then your purchases are handed to someone else at another counter in a sealed bag, where that person examines each packet that you bought to make sure it matches the receipt.
At least a few people in the store did speak english (though I do speak spanish, they started to speak english to me when they initially saw me)
I have seen some reports that people have trouble finding this place, so here is a photo of the pharmacy, hopefully that will help.
They asked me for a prescription to get sildenafil there.
No problems at Corrientes & Suipacha. $114 pesos for 50/50 sandoz.

I have been using Magnus Sildenafil [available at almost any decent pharmacy in BA] for about three years now as a Viagra substitute. A 100 mg pill normally costs about 3 Pesos. I find it works just as well as Viagra for me, but without the headache that always seems to accompany Viagra. Magnus works within fifteen to twenty minutes.

Does anyone know if / where I can get methylphenidate (ritalin) in Buenos Aires? I had a prescription when I was in the US and will end up getting one here eventually, but if I could just go to some pharmacy it would save me the money and time of making a doctor's appointment.

Thanks[/QUOTE]I checked with a few pharmacists I deal with and they both told me since methylphenidate is a stimulant you will need a prescription. However, this is Argentina and it wouldn't suprise me if a pharmacy or two wouldn't sell it to you without a prescription. Next week I'll be in the center of the city and I'll check with a pharmacy that has given me a few medications (however these were not stimulant and not opiate based drugs) without prescriptions.
