Mongers,
Yes, El Alamo was closed by the city of Buenos Aires government Monday evening. It will reopen as soon as possible, hopefully in a couple of days. The El Alamo legal team is working on it as we speak and I will post here when I find out more information.
Thanks,
Rock Harders
Hi Skifozo,
The answer to your question is now moot as El Alamo has now re-opened effective tonight.
Thanks,
Jackson
Good news, thanks
Never has a handle seemed so apropriate;-) I went to kansas for dinner then to cafe orleans. Met 2 dominicanas. One was hot the other had a cute face but less than great body but was really friendly and nice. We made plans to meet and they would take me to Big Flow dominican disco. I headed to hook and some lil dominican spinner was all over me but so fake it was funny.
I asked for bill so I could head back to my hotel and freshen up and the spinner said she needed some air and followed me out. She grabbed my arm and starts walking me to my hotel. I aske where is she going. She says home to sleep since I wouldn't take her to Big Flow. I said cool. She kept walking with me.
I said. How strange that you seem to live near my hotel. She didn't get it.
When we get to my hotel I say I am going upstairs to change and then to Big Flow, what are you doing. She says OK I will go back to my boliche, give me "por lo menos" cien pesos. I say "for what". She says for her time she lost walking with me. I laugh and say "tu estas sonando". And crossed the street to my hotel.
This girl is in love with herself. Constantly looking in mirror and asking me if her ass looked great. Pulling down her pants and putting my hands on her ass. She asked if she had the best ass I have ever seen. I laughed and said no, I live in the DR and see equal or better every day. She thought I was kidding. I pulled out iphone and showed her pics of my dominican ex novia. She was zzoming in and raving about my ex's body. Took phone to show other chicas etc. Too funny. I explained that I get chicas like that all the time for free and was not interested in coming all the way to BA to bang a dominicana for 300 pesos. Lol.
Had a great time at Big Flow. I am honestly not all that attracted to argentinan women. This is my second trip and just walking around the streets or shopping in other countries I am usually impressed by local talent. I haven's said wow even once in 2 trips here.
The better looking chicas in the boliches seem to be dominican or from paraguay. Big Flow had better looking chicas than most boliches I went to and younger as well. I hung with my 2 amigas and the not so hot one was making out with me all night. The hot one wanted to dance and the 2 chicas danced together a ton. There was a lot of this. Lots of chicas were there alone or in groups of chicas. I guess there are more women there from DR than men for obvious employment reasons.
Next trip I will head there solo and see what shakes. I will also try and check out El Alamo before I leave. I shouldn't let some dickhead lose them a customer;-)
BTW, although I am new to AP I have been an ISG senior member sicne WSG days and post more often in DR section, as that is what I know best.
Forget Dickhead.
I'm curious why you visit BA if you don't like the look of the local women and spend your time hanging with what you seem to feel are sub-standard Dominicas. Why not just stay in DR or visit countries where the women look more like Dominicanas?
I can understand the first trip but not the second or the next one.

Mongers,
El Alamo is now serving Gulmen Patagonian Microbrews on tap, beginning today. Roughly every week, the offering will change, to begin with it will be a Cream Stout followed by a Wheat Lager. El Alamo will be the only bar in Buenos Aires selling these beers on tap (other places have them in bottles) Within a couple of weeks, El Alamo will also have both Heineken and Budweiser (El Alamo will be the only bar in Buenos Aires serving Budweiser on tap as well) on tap.

Hey RH. Good luck with the microbrews!
I just checked Ratebeer. This Gulmen place is out of Viedma, Argentina, and makes some decent beer, especially for there. I guarantee you, a German based brewer is behind them. Their Barleywine is 10. 5 % alcohol.
Something BA really needs- decent craft beers. Perhaps not the place.
I wish I was there.
When I arrive again in October, I will stop in.
If you are a Beer Snob. Pm me.
I will bring you something from the US.
Best Regards.

Stopped by the Alamo this morning on my way to Baleria's apartment just down the street.
I was hopeing for some lunch.
The place was locked up tighter than a drum with sign's closed by the Police.
And another one bites the dust.
Exon
I hate to see this shit happen again!
The cocksuckers!
My place is still closed down due to various problems but this is getting ridiculous!
Anybody know what's going on now?
Take Care and Good Luck!

Can you guys recommend any other sports bars that are showing major US sporting events? I just got into town last week and didn't even get a chance to check out the Alamo, sure sounded like a nice place!
Mongers,
I am 99% sure that El Alamo will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday August 13th. It was closed down by the City of Buenos Aires last Thursday night under charges of alleged overcapacity (which was in fact not true) smoking in an unauthorized area (also false) and undocumented employees (false) Essentially it comes down to whether you pay the police or not, and we were not paying the police, and they orchestrated this bullshit. We will avoid this in the future by doing the obvious.

Rock, with what's going on with your why Tejano do you think you're being targeted because you're extranjeros. Do other places go through this as well? Are you guys paying more if they are being targeted? Do you ask around at all?

Which basically meant they didn't pay off the right person (s)
Rock and Tejano, you guys must have balls of steal to attempt to conduct business here as an 'extranjero.' Hope everything works out.
Well I went by yesterday to see what was up, and the doors were shut tight about 2:00 pm.
