Video Tape Issue Resolved
[blue]I am pleased to announce that the issue regarding the video tape of the Thanksgiving dinner has been resolved.
Yesterday afternoon I received a telephone call from our fellow Forum member who made the video. He had read everyone's comments on the Forum and received emails from a couple of the other attendees, and of his own accord he volunteered to give me the video tape for me to destroy.
Later that evening I had a lengthy conversation with him wherein he gave me the videotape and to me that he had no intention of making anyone uncomfortable by videotaping the Thanksgiving dinner, but given everyone’s response, he quickly came to the conclusion that he could solve the problem immediately by giving the only copy to me. I think everyone should know that our friend had no malice of forethought, it’s just that he is in the video documentary business and therefor regularly videotapes events in which he participates.
Upon giving me the videotape, our friend asked that I might remove the messages on the Forum regarding the situation, a request that seemed appropriate and that I agreed to do. I believe that the subject has been fully resolved, the specific postings are not directly related to the stated goal of this Forum, and there's no need to keep them as a part of the permanent record. Therefor, although there was certainly some intelligent discussion on the situation and the subject of privacy in these postings, I have removed them.
Thanks,
Jackson[/blue]
