I have been mongering in the Philippines but thought I might try BA. How important is it to be able to speak Spanish? I speak none.

Slap a $100 bill ( for some a $20 bill ) on you’re forehead and they will think of you as the second coming! Money talks in this town. I speak NO Spanish and I manage to get whatever I could possible want with my dollars. You might start by learning to say " cien dólares " over and over again. Try to get the Spanish accent down as you say it. I would think its the same in the Philippines ( been there a few times) . How many gringos speak that language? Zero to none ?????
That might sound crude but how many mongers who travel the Orient speak Thai or Chinese and manage to get around with little or no problems? The same goes for Buenos Aires. As a matter of fact, a total idiot can have the time of his life down there without opening up his mouth and just pointing. I speak from experience.

Peruana Araceli gets the "hat trick" award for making me come three times last night, and I do mean [b]making[/b] me. IIRC she is the first Buenos Aires chica to do that without a night's sleep in between. I didn't pull from Ness or Hook, but your info about the rip-off at Hook was in my mind when we visited. We made a point of holding the change money to the light, a point that was certainly not lost on them.

Well, I am an American and I look like one and I dress like one. [b]Never[/b] have I been asked for $100 US in Catto's. In fact, the only place I have ever been quoted such a silly price was one time in Periplo (by an older chica I would not have fucked for 50 pesos). Note, of course, that I don't go to Black or Madaho's. And if I am going to pay 150 pesos in Catto's she is going to get at least two squirts (or die trying) and stay at least two hours. I do give 150 to a few proven performers there but I make sure they earn it. And I never pay 150 the first time I go with them, only 120 or 130. That way when they finally work their way up to 150 they have a sense of accomplishment.

$50 US is of course almost the same as 150 pesos right now but I still think it's better to avoid mentioning US dollars at all, ever, in Buenos Aires. Also I think any of those gals sitting on their asses all day in Exedra or Orleans will take 100 pesos [b]or less[/b] although I have little interest in trying to personally prove that assertion.

Well, I do not know about you, but from Europe and for me the "Forum Search" function, although now better than on the previous days, does not work properly as yet.

For instance, even when I input "platynum" under "Argentina forum", I get no response at all?

Also, from a monger's perspective, what's the best side trip to take besides Iguazu Falls?
