Having read Romer's notes I tried this lady, Shia. My experience was similar. She is very personable and has a large cat. The building and the apartment are clean. I spent a week in BA and tried to explore one angle or another every day. I kept going back to Area-VIP because the site has a manageable number of women and they tend to look pretty good. Shia told me that the owner of the site is a professional photographer, that he takes the photos, and that he is somewhat discriminating in who he will take as an advertiser. If I remember correctly, she said he was charging her AR$1,500 a month.

I went to her place with the idea that if it was really top, top shelf then I would go for it. But neither her place nor her own appearance would justify such a high premium. The woman herself resembles the photos but has some sort of skin condition on the right cheek of her face (probably just acne) so she is not perfect in appearance. Her apartment smelled of smoke and she had some soap opera on the tv when I showed up. The setup was not any sort of high class deal that would justify the big number. She also is not the sort of person like Shia or Paula, both of whom are older, that you could just talk to casually. She was like a high-pressure salesman. So, not liking anything about the situation, I left immediately.

I also tried calling Silvina who is on page 7. She had a dispatcher taking her calls and I was quoted the same US$200 price. I passed and didn't bother going over to check it out.

The main advantage of Area-VIP is that the girls are working solo and not in a privado as most of the ones on BG are. That is a plus if you are concerned about privacy, security and less of a mill atmosphere. But I think it would take some serious mining to ferret out the real values in the Area-VIP lineup. I can't complain about Shia and Paula who were both AR$200. But on account of their age, I feel that Ambar and Anais at Esperalda 517 were a better value for the same price. They were younger and perter although their privado was shabbier.

The one thing I did not try was direct marketing at Exedra or Orleans. I never went to Exedra late enough so I didn't see anyone there who looked like a working girl. Both times I went by, the place was nearly empty. Since I was out mostly in the afternoons, I did see more chicas at Orleans. But the place is small, packed with tables and was for me a little claustrophobic. Plus, I was not completely comfortable with shopping in the open. If I come back, I will probably give it a try.

I definitely got the impression that the early afternoon hours were a good time to go looking for chicas.

In the end, after a week of experimenting, I have to say that Agostina at Gysell's apartment was the best value. The cost was $AR150. The place was as clean and pleasant as either of the Area-VIP ladies had. The thing that I think was unique about Agostina was that she has not yet been at it that long. The time with her came the closest of any to a GFE.

If you are coming in for a short time and don't speak Spanish, I would definitely recommend that you use an intermediary. Even if you know some Spanish, the local pronunciation can be hard to understand and navigating the whole process of calling or showing up at the buzzer of a privado would be a pain in the ass.

I don't think it is practical to bargain hunt the way the full-time residents who post on this board do. But in my observation, AR$200 was sufficient to get a hot body in a reasonably clean joint. I think the US$200 prices are ridiculous and no one should pay them. The absolute outside maximum you could justify would be $AR300. And, when you think about it, that is a huge bargain in relation to what you would have to pay in New York or London. I also would not go below AR$150. The one place I checked out that was lower than that, was way too shabby.

I definitely recommend the city and its working girls. I am really grateful for this board which was also useful for things other than just finding women. And I hope to be back before too long.
