I've used the hotel safes before for my laptop, but I'm not sure they will hold a full size laptop. The only hotel I've stayed at in BA is the InterCon on Moreno and they have a safe in each room.
Not much help, I know, but every little bit helps

Jamesbond69;
The room safes at the Hilton are big enough for laptops. At the Castelar they will hold the laptop for you at the office behind the front desk and they seem very honest. However, I will not recomend the Castelar for the hobby. At the Hilton the girls need to register at the front desk, a bit embarasing if the staff is female. I do like to register the girl for my own safety.

Anyone know of a great apartment to rent 20-26 November? The places I usually stay are not available....I prefer not to pay more than 50USD per night....On my last trip I paid 30pernight for a great one bedroom, but another monger has it rented in November......
If I don't find what I want I can always retreat to a hotel or aparthotel, but apartments seem to offer better bargains....and I would rather save money on housing to devote to the never ending search for the perfect chica.....smile....

APART RECOLETA????
Anyone been there? Supposedly 150 rooms in "heart of Recoleta"
Regular rate = $109, but Travelocity can book for $55 a night.

chuponalgas. I have not stayed in ApartRecoleta, but I have seen the rooms...great location on Guido, but older and smaller rooms than Art Suites for about the same price.
-
EZY: thanks. Is there a BIG difference in the rooms? Because APART RECOLETA has pool, gym, restaurant on premises, ART SUITES does not. We like to swim a few laps every day... Any idea if APART RECOLETA is chica friendly? THX for any help, will post full report upon return!

Chuponalgas. If a pool is important, you might want to consider the oft' mentioned Etoille, which is only a block or so from Apart Recoleta. You will get a two room suite for the price of a one room jr. suite at Apart Recoleta. It has its rules, but is clearly chica friendly. And a restaurant is on premises....
If you want to try Apart Recoleta, you might want to email them directly and ask for a promotional rate based upon your length of stay, your corportate connections, uncommonly good looks, or any other reason that comes to mind....I have spoken with hotels in BA and told them I found a rate of x dollars from Travelocity or elsewhere on the web and wondered if I could get a better rate by booking direct. More often than not, I have been offered a better deal. Oh, I don't know if this Apart Hotel is chica friendly...but most are IF you register for a double rather than a single...
RE: ArtSuites....two rooms at Art Suites, vs one room at ApartRecoleta, nearly new vs older, 45sm vs 30....but you are right, no pool, no restaurant....

Chuponalgas. If a pool is important, you might want to consider the oft' mentioned Etoille... SIGH that was my first choice but it is full...

That's true about the Etoile. I was able to get a room at the Etoile but only for one day, Nov. 12th, so I have to look for another place after that.
For some strange reason it seems like the BA hotels are starting to fill up in November. If anyone would like to share a two bedroom apartment (apartment/hotel) for a week or more after Nov. 12th let me know, as I will be there until Dec. 11th.
The artsuites seems like a nice choice.

I need a little help from the experienced BA monger regardign a hotel.. I will be in BA from Nov 29 through Dec. 12 - two weeks and wanted to know if anybody has heard of the Parke Chateau Kempinski. I can get a suite for $71 per night, including the VAT and it seems like a nice hotel - jacuzzi, sitting area, etc. The only problem is I do not know if it is chica friendly or not.
Other options are Apt. Recoleta $55, Lois Suites Esmerelda $70, and the Park Central Kempinski at $69 or the infamous ArtSuites. The only thing with Artsuites, is that due to all of the monger information, is there a chance that they eliminate all chica visits?
Also if anybody wants to hook up for some mongering activities, email me at malageno@yahoo.com

johnguapo....There are 4 Kempenski hotels in BA...one is downtown, and three are in Barrio Norte/Recoleta....
They are very nice, tastefully done botique hotels....I don't know if they are chica friendly, but if you have any doubt...ask. I usually just say, "I will be traveling alone but wish to register for a double because I plan to have company part of the time and don't want any problems. There won't be, will there?" There is no problem with most BA hotels, provided you register as a double...but it does not hurt to check it out.
The hotel you are thinking about is on Puyrredon, not far from Recoleta's boliches.....The Park Central is downtown, not in Recoleta.
here is the url....

Etoile is booked solid this month. I noticed that the UTELL hotels have some great rates in BA. A couple in the high 10s and the low 20s including tax for "suites". UTELL is a big international hotel chain. It runs 28 hotels in BA including the Loisuites.
So instead of asking which hotels are chica friendly, has anyone ever stayed in a hotel in BA that wasn't chica friendly? If no one has, then the odds are good that most of them are chica friendly.

Which hotels? The lowest rates I found on Utell for late Nov. were 40,plus tax (21%).....
Also, most hotels in BA are chica friendly IF you register as a double...not a single...but I usually ask anyway. I don't want any hassles.

The "Americas Studios All Suites" is either $18.99 or $22 depending on which promotional you get. The "Best Western Embassy All Suite" is $29. The "Cristoforo Colombo Suites" is $20. This one looks really nice, if kind of far away, it's about a 10 minute ride by taxi to Recoleta. The other two are around Florida St. I remember passing them during my wandering. They are about a 20 minute walk from Recoleta.
To get these rates, click on the "Great Rates" link. You'll get the promotional rates.

Have any of you had problems with apartment rentals? Since the activity happens very late at night or in the wee hours of the morning, has the noise bothered the neighbors? I'm assumming that these are just regular apartments with regular people living there. Is it awkward?
