Yep, it works just that way. Life is good in this city. The caveats are as follows:

1) If you read the previous posts on this particular thread, you'll realize that most of us regulars are not necessarily in love with this place for either quality nor value.

2) I don't know what your Spanish language skills are, but at least some Spanish is helpful here, since, unlike a Privado, where they basically guide you into a room with a sure thing after you make your choice from a line-up and pay, and you really can't screw it up, even without a single word of the language, at the cafe you do have to do your own meet-and-greet, and negotiations. It's unlikely you'll meet an English-speaking chica there.

3) You will be overcharged for that cup of coffee, but this is really just a matter of a few Pesos.

On a more positive note, many regulars, even if they have written tepid reviews, DO use this place. One nice thing is that is is generally hopping on Sundays, when other options in town are quite limited.

AND, for what it's worth, I probably have had my single best BA sex experience with a mousy little red-head I picked up there, in 2008, so it's very much a case of "diamonds in the rough", or perhaps just "YMMV".

Then if you do manage to negotiate a satisfactory agreement with one of the chicas (if you don't speak spanish this may not be so straightforward) you then have to walk out of the cafe onto the street with the girl to take a taxi or to walk around the corner to the local transitorio. So many chances to be seen and probably a rather expensive experience as well. Instead much better to go to a privado. Just press the buzzer and in you go. You could be going into that building for many other reasons. For 150 or 200 pesos you can spend a memorable hour with a beautiful girl, even on a Sunday. Forget Orleans and read the board.

If you are staying at a hotel close to there you can be incognito. I would go into Orleans and find my chica and give her my room number and hotel. I was staying close at the Hotel Principado which is chica friendly and the girl would arrive at my room. The Principado is one street over and an easy walk. Only one time this did not work when the chica misunderstood me and ran behind me and jumped into the elevator with me. But thats another story.

At Orleans, even though I have usually made up my mind pretty quickly, I like to finish my soda slowly and take in the whole scene. It helps me to relax and I try to pick up some extra phone numbers for those dry periods when no one seems to be around. The girls prefer this method of calling them because once they step inside the Orleans they have to pay the 60-80 pesos fee to use the Orleans as a "resting" place. They will often ask you to pay this for them when they leave. The weekend rate is down to 50 pesos for the use of the Orleans facility for the chicas.

If your spanish is acceptable you can also chat them up and find out if you like the way they talk and if there is any chemistry between you. Sure you are not there for the long haul, but you feel the money is well invested if you enjoy the conversation along with the sex.

Stopped by Orleans before heading over to Gysell's for a look around. Very sad, over the hill and over priced chicas. Had one offer her services for US$300, told her "no just one hour not the entire day". Just could not understand why she was offended.
