Don’t worry about a thing man, your going to have an absolute great time. Cuba was cool, but there is absolutely no comparison to the experiences you are going to have in BA. BA is the whole package. Recoleta is all class. The city is fantastic. In Cuba your guard is way up all the time. BA is serene. You are still going to eat awesome steaks for around $10, and you still can’t screw your way out of BA no matter how much cash you bring. There are just too many chicas that your going to see that “have to get done” before you return home. It’s all good. Enjoy.

General, don't worry about BA. It's still a great place to be. I would be happy to go there again tomorrow. We're just bemoaning the good old days.
As for the super hot girls leaving. More power to them. Why shouldn't they do the best they can for themselves. I wouldn't want there to be some form of sexual slavery where they are kept there if the can do better elsewhere. How many of us have moved for a better opportunity?

No need for concern. I returned from Bs. As. one week ago, and would love to be in your shoes heading back there next week.
There is an unending supply of beautiful, sexy, compliant women at reasonable prices in Argentina. Compared to what is available in the US, I find it unbelievable that anyone can complain about Argentina in the least.
I did much better concerning prices on my second trip than on my first. My ace in the hole is that I usually get quite a bit of extended time at no cost, because I make a point of being very nice to the chicas. Put on some romantic Latino music, pour a little vino, and talk to them about their lives.
They are used to being treated like a piece of meat, especially by the local Argentine men, so acting like a gentlemen goes a long way. Several commented on how surprised they were that I bothered to walk downstairs and wait with them for their taxi. They are used to men rolling over and snoring.
Following my first trip in June, I took careful notes concerning price, time, and quality, with the specific goal of obtaining much more value upon my return. There is no doubt in my mind that I did much better the second time, and will do better when I return again.

As you can see, I definitely favor the cafes. I think that an unrushed, intimate conversation is the best predictor of a successful denouement. I spoke to many chicas that I passed on because things just weren't clicking between us.
It is clear to me that there is no correlation between the cost per hour and attitude and performance. Also, I think that on the whole I am a much tougher grader than most other mongers that I met in Bs. As.

My heart bleeds for those mongers that lament and curse the recent influx of cash and tourists into Argentina, a country so long in dire need of an economic boost.
How dare the Argentinian Minister of Tourism blatantly promote this beautiful country knowing full well that the invading hordes of tourists will jeopardize the staked out claims of mongers proclaiming this city to be the land of 150 peso pussy. What a monumental lapse in foresight to not realize that the tourism and sex industries are so intertwined that it's downright impossible for one to prosper without the other.
I truly empathize with those mongers so compelled to place their own personal financial limitations above those of an entire country, but hey, such is life and free enterprise.
By the way, while some may "cringe" at Moondogs past postings I must admit they truly piqued my interest in BA and led to my initial visit shortly after the devaluation. I for one have always respected the posters who supply detailed informative posts on all aspects of life, rather than the banal rantings of a few, hellbent on imposing their view on how things should be done. Enough already with the artificial distinction between so called newbies and veterans when all it really boils down to is common sense, maturity and respect. Some have it before they ever step foot off the plane while others don't, no matter how many times they return.
General Custer, enjoy your trip. Actually this Quantity, Quality and price discussion resurfaces about every six months or so. There is more than enough to keep most anyone happy in BA initially. Sometimes however the novelty wears off for some and there is nothing left but to complain and reminisce about the good old days.

The sad thing is that Europe and Canada isn't too expensive. Just go read about my reports on Montreal and Quebec City. In England, you can get laid with a stunning girl for like 150 dollars or like 450 pesos. So it's not that bad considering it's like almost the say for a stunning girl in BA when it should be a lot less. So these girls leaving ba thinking they'll make more, probably won't. Since there's a lot more competition in europe. Just check the escorts listings in England. There's like a million of girl from all over the world. They're basically giving up a good market for a worse one. That's usually what happens when u get too greedy. I'm not putting them down or anything. I'm a greedy fellow too. It's just what greed does to you.

Had a great dinner with Roxanna, as everybody else says She is a wonderful Companion. I would recomend Her without reservation for tours or setting appointments.

You remind me of the guy who has been living in the city most all of his life, and suddenly “discovers” a small mountain town and decides to move there. Now everybody else is called a “flatlander,” and soon he becomes in favor of no more growth, as this is his private town now, and too many others will ruin it for the “locals.”
I wrote my BA Guide and keep it updated to help the new guy get around in BA for the first time. The emphasis is on the high points such as the clubs in Recoleta, the triangle, and the cafes. A few others are thrown in as well. It gives the new guy a good start on where to go and what to expect, who to contact for apartments and arrangements, and nothing more. You do not have to worry about the guide giving out your secrets of filthy apartments and dive establishments to meet budget girls. Yes you can meet the same girl in a brothel downtown and pay a token amount to get your rocks off, but that is not for everybody. Let the new guy go to the more established clubs first and get a feel for the city, then later he will venture out and find other attractions, and maybe even find another $ar50 girl for you. :)

Lexton, you do not have to “cringe,” as most of the “flatlanders” who will be coming to “your town,” will not be taking over the small, dingy apartments anytime soon. You can have those all to yourself. :)

Wise observation, Slick. I agree 100%. In fact, I have even caught myself slipping into the trap of "damn, Buenos Aires ain't what it used to be!"
I think the mongering experience of the city is so overwhelming to a first-time visitor, that subsequent trips (when you can gain a sense of perspective and not be totally overwhelmed) might be something of a letdown. In reality, it's just the initial shock of the place wearing off. ;)

Back in '98 I paid ar$150, same in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 so as far as I can see this trend isn't changing as fast as some people would have it. And I can still go to the provinces and pay ar$80 for a lovely girl so I for one am not about to start getting too worried about the BA/Argentina scene being ruined by this influx of tourism we're seeing. Rest assured that if you visit BA in 2015 you'll find nice girls for ar$150.00. And don't think for a minute that there isn't another devaluation lurking somewhere around the corner that will one day tip the scales back in our favor as did the great 2001 deval.
As for the girls going to Europe, this is a very good thing because everytime one girl leaves this gives a new hottie a chance to step up to the plate for the first time, which is good for all of us who like fresh new faces and bodies. Argentina's farm system for hotties that work in the clubs is probably as good as their soccer development system so let as many girls go to Europe as their little hearts desire.

It sounds like everyone has voiced their opinions well.
Tito Otto makes a great observation that I have thought about but not voiced. After going to BA a number of times over a number of years, I find waves of different feelings each time I go. Sometimes I am frustrated due to lack of unlimited funds/ below par Spanish/ too much work to do/ difficult choices. Other times I am on cloud nine, with a favorita, a new discovery, a new experience, giving a good service in return. And other times sad, that I cannot stay longer, cannot help some more. One thing remains constant, when I am not there, I want to be there, even if just for a few days.
As for the newbie, I think the place will blow your mind, especially with the help of this board. And I love reading the new experiences. I love reading all the experiences actually. The newbie can experience every level he wants, from Dollys to Black, Websites to Clarin, The Street to the Disco. It's your choice and this site provides the insight.
Speaking of Old and New, someone told me Hippoptamus is open again, (just down from Newport). That was the first club I went to in $ days, and I spend a wad with a goup of guys, and talked to lots of pretty girls, WOW! Then I was introduced to Newport the next night and as I was ussually by myself, found this environment a much lower key/ lower cost/ safer feeling site for my tastes until I found my legs.
