While its fresh on my mind I've compiled a list of references from my previous reports. I figure a new reference thread would be in order so useful tidbits don't get buried in the main thread. Please only add useful references to this thread so it stays concise.

This place is run by 2 sisters, very friendly and helpful. A 4-star hotel for 2-star prices.

Cabs are metered and start at 5K ($US1) Short trips to apartments in centro cost 10-15K. There are numerous cab stands in downtown where the cabs are cued up. Cabs to nightlife areas (e. G. Av. Brazilia and Villa Morra are 30-40K from downtown. Taxis to the airport are around 90K.

Casa de cambios are found throughout the downtown area but especially along Calles Palma and Estrella. No passport is need to change money.

Pedestrians have the right of way in Asuncion and will generally slow down to let you pass (unlike BA) if you give them some warning. The traffic lights are hard to see because of the way in which they angle the lights. Walk / Don't walk signals are non-existant.

From our observations dinner time is usually after 8PM. Dining in Asunsion is more flexible than BA. At almost any hour some diners are casually eating or having drinks. A 10% VAT is incorporated into the price you see on the menu but in general tips are not included (we added a 10% tip) No table charges were observed like in BA.

The cable package in our hotel was very similiar to the one in BA apartments. 30 or so channels with various programming like Sony, ESPN, etc.

Visas are required for gringos. I earlier said that my multiple entry visa was good for the life of the passport. Upon further review that was incorrect. It's valid for 90 days.

Upon further further review, an accomplished fellow monger has determined that my multiple-entry visa is indeed good for the life of the passport. It allows visits up to 90 days from each entry. My bad.

Tequila Tim and me have just returned after another 5 day stay in Asuncion. If your cell phone is unlocked, 10,000 guaranies, (U$2.50) will buy you a new chip and give you enough credit for a lot of calls. I'm a great believer in the one 'phone and chips for different countries and the deal in Paraguay only re-inforces this belief. 2 minutes for hook-up. Can't beat it.

Some more useful facts:

The weather in May during our stay was fantastic. Mid-20's during the day and 15-20 at night (centigrade)

Buses are 2100 guarani (40 cents) and you can use small bills to pay (unlike BA) Wave the bus down like a cab in BA and take one in the direction you're going. They stay on a straight line in el Centro (where you want to be anyway)

Not too many streetwalkers this time but the privados were well stocked with young cuties.

To the previous posters on the Paraguay trip. I was hoping to learn a little bit from your trip re best privados. Good hotel. And if you both still recommend the place. Heard you were headed there, just a little more than curious.

We both had one bum experience at the same time in the same privado but really it was our own fault in not comunicating with each other. The posts re the privados that TT posted last November are just as relevant. The chicas mostly work only for for about 3 months so names are really irrelevant. The outstanding place is Cerro Cora 462 with more than enough of a selection to keep anybody drained for a week, let alone look elsewhere. Chicas are just legal age so don't expect an experienced or hardened session.

First off cross Azara 495 off of any list you have. Both my traveling companion and myself had bad experiences.

There are a lot of pretty girls here, don't get me wrong. I was hitting 7's and 8's. The service left more to be desired. The only girl I got a BBBJ from was the drunk girl that I was playing poker with. She was a 6, and mid 30's. I tried to tip for it at the privados but no dice. I liked the Lido, across from the Pantheon de Heroes; there was a good "por-kilo" buffet on the south side of Palma, east of 14 de Mayo; out in Villa Morro, I really enjoyed the Hacienda de las Palomas (Mexican) the Paulista Grill (rodizio) and Acuarela (rodizio) Then there was "La Paraguayita," which is on Avenida Brasilia a couple of blocks north of Avda. Espana (in the Mariscal Lopez neighborhood) - I loved their cazuela de surubi.

We ate at Lido, They burned The hamburgers. After seeing the quality of the other food and how it was prepared I would hit my dick with a hammer before I ate at a Paraguayan buffet. I did walk by it though.

We stayed at the Guarani Esplendor. An alleged 4 star hotel. In the breakfast buffet the orange juice was Tang, the bread, and cereal were stale, and the sausages were made from old tires.

I the best food I had was a pizza at a Chopeteria.

We did not get out to Villa Mora, there may be nice places there, I dunno.

I am glad to be back in BA. In four hours I have had a great BBBJ and a great Lomo.

According to [url=http://www.embaparusa.gov.py/visas_english.html]Paraguayan Embassy in Washington website[/url], the mulitple entry visa is now $100 and single entry is $65.

You are right. But because the taxi drivers here try to scam you, I didn't feel like asking them for a favor and was of course a bit "over" confident. But after the taxi left, the dark street and ringing the bell of a lonely house and awaiting endlessly for the door to open, send a eerie feeling down my throat.

You're right, the area where you were is very quiet at night. When I was there my myself at night I asked the house to call me a cab as I was getting ready to leave after my session. I'm sorry to hear about the scam, I've never had any problems whatsoever with the cabs I've taken. Granted, they are a bit expensive in relation to the price of everything else there.

Managed to sneak out 2 hours today evening simply to check out the privados in day time on a weekday.

3. Over all 33 us$ (for sex) + 9 us$ cab fare. 42 us$ was extremely well spent. Now think about it, what would 150 Argentine peso get us in BA.

4. In last 20 years of mongering, first time ever I took full fledged showers before and after sex in a Latin American privado . The room and bathroom was absolutely top class.

A little background on the places you visited.

Azara 1565. They have different prices for each girl which vary from 120, 000 to 200, 000 guarani an hour. In my opinion a birdbrain pricing system. Probably explains why they are only open during the daytime - they used to be a 24 hour operation.

14 de Mayo 1241. A gem. 100, 000 guarani an hour. Do you remember the name of the girl you were with?

El Eden 495. All of the girls are 120, 000 guarani an hour except Anahi (blond, green eyed hardbody) who is 150, 000 an hour.

Cerro Cora 462, First class. They usually charge 300, 000 for one hour in your hotel and 1, 000, 000 for TLN. The girl you were with probably flunked Math 101.

There is a whole different, higher class of privados in the suburbs I. E. Mansion VIP, Class A and Thai.

If I had known what Asuncion had to offer I would not have spent one minute in Buenos Aires. As far as pussy goes, Buenos Aires is kindergarden while Asuncion is graduate school at Harvard.
