Saw a thread on here called "Is BA dead?"
Bwwaaahhahahahhaahahahahahahhaaaha LMAO.
The quality and quantity is still excellent. With some of the clubs closed, it is just distributed a little differently. But there is plenty, and some of it is exceptional. No way I will get through even half my list.
As far as the clubs, I am not really missing the old ones too much (maybe just a little). I'd probably just be running around more, trying to see everything. RIP: Madahos, Black, La Lopez, Solid Gold, Affaire, Shampoo, Cattos, Sens. Still around: at least five clubs by my count.
New Horizons with Hotel Horizonte
I have been coming to BA for a long time, but never tried the love motels. Always took the night club chicas back to my hotel or apartment.
This year I rented a new apartment I had not rented before. It was a modern, well-furnished 1 BR with kitchen, on the back side of the building, so street noise was almost non-existent. Quiet at all times of the day and no loud neighbors. TVs in both the LR and the BR. Rooftop lap pool and sundeck. Which I enjoyed daily during a stretch of 5 warm sunny days. Some days there were one or two nice chicas out suntanning as well. All good. Except, the guy who checked me in and showed me around gave me some pause. He mentioned there were cameras all over the building which security monitored, and that guests were allowed but must show ID to the portero who will log it in. Hmmmm. I didn't really want to create a log showing me bringing back different chicas night after night. So I decided I would turn this into an opportunity to finally check out the love motels, though vowed to bring at least one chica back to my apartment.
The main love motel in Centro appears to be a place called Hotel Horizonte. It is on a short street called Tres Sargentos, between Reconquista and San Martin. A very short walk from the former Cafe Orleans, which is now closed. The chicas and the taxi drivers just call it "Tres Sargentos", I never heard anyone call it by it's real name. There is actually a real hotel down the street called Hotel Tres Sargentos but that is NOT it. It's the transitorio (temporary or love motel) on calle Tres Sargentos.
Anyways this place was a hoot. I'm so glad I found it. After the first night, I always took a Tematica con Jacuzzi room (the most expensive option) at 470 pesos for 2 hours. You can pay another 200 or so for all night. The place has a front entrance with a small wall in front of the door, as well as a more private side entrance from a garage you can drive into. 7 stories high I believe. I went there 5 nights and most times there were other couples either when getting the room before, or returning the room card after. All ages. I wondered if some of the younger chicas were working, and if so where. A few were kind of hot. Though I liked the chicas I brought there the most. You can order food and drinks. One chica asked me to buy her a bottle of water, and when they brought it up to the room they used some contraption in the wall so you could receive the items without being seen. Very thoughtful. The rooms were always very clean, with TV, bathroom, shower, queen size bed, adjustable lighting and sound system.
The only serious deficiency was the choice of music on their system. Bring your own tunes, or you'll be bopping to Cindi Lauper.
Another tip, you need to get the temperature of the water filling the jacuzzi just right. After filling, the jacuzzi turns on and you can't fill it with more water either hot or cold. All you can do is turn the jacuzzi on or off.
