Public Holidays in Argentina
In case you didn't know, this Monday May 1st is a holiday in Argentina as it is in most countries excluding USA. Labor/Workers Day or MayDay. Institutions like banks are closed and most regular companies take it off. However, most restaurants and other businesses that normally work weekends are open. I don't remember if whoares take it off, I should put a call into SF1707 to guage the sector. They were closed for Good Friday which surprised me somewhat.
Here is the complete list of holidays to my knowledge:
Jan 1..........New Years
Mar/Apr.......Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday (4 day weekend)
Apr 2..........Islas Malvinas / Falkland Islands Day (occasionally turns Easter into a 5day weekend)
May 1.........Labor Day
May 25.......May Revolution Day
Jun 20........Flag Day
Jul 9...........Independence Day
Aug 17........San Martin Day
Oct 12........Columbus Day
Dec 8..........Immaculate Conception
Dec 24/25....Christmas
I forget which of the holidays can float so as to convene with a long weekend. Flag Day, for instance, is usually taken the 3rd Monday of June. There are other holidays like that.
Thanks for the response Moore
Be ready to party with me (Dirk, Marak, Baires Pirata, Lowlight you guys too) next month. Let's blow it out! I'm dying here in the states. I'm fuckin wining and dining that Peruvian hottie I was telling you about and getting nowhere. I've been labeled a friend. I've got VIP passes to the hottest club in my city Saturday night and I'm taking someone who considers me her friend. Bunch of bullshit. My only hope is to get her drunk and disoriented to confuse her into thinking we're friends with benefits. It's nice to be seen out with such a hot girl (strange guys are patting me on the back at clubs) but I'm seriously losing interest in this chica.
Needless to say, it will be nice to know at the end of a night of partying in BA, I can stroll into a boliche and bang any number of hot babes.
Late,
Judd
Mongering in the Catholic World
Easter weekend one of the WORST time of year for monger activities.
In most of the predominantly Catholic countries, most everything comes to a standstill during the week before Easter (Semana Santa,or Holy Week), and only gets worse on Easter weekend. The week after Easter is better, but it takes about a week for everything to get back to "normal".
Tres3.
Public holidays list for 2013

Had no idea till saw the closed stores today but it is Day of the Battle of Salta holiday today.
There isn't quite as many as the joke of 100 holidays per year but on this list there's at least 31 days.
Day of the Battle of Salta
Apparently this feriado is this year only as it is 200 years since the battle, similar to what was January 31 day of Asamblea General Constituyente de 1813. Again 200 year.
