What do you think of this idea!

OK time to spill some beans. Please understand this is quite preliminary but I have done a bit of leg work on this through a few investment firms and there may be the ability to actually pull it off. At this point lets call it a dream with and early plan.

I have been coming down for a few years now. Although the timing is not right at this moment, it may be in about a year so I want to get some input from the group. Be brutally honest. I can take it. If you say anything negative about an individual on this thread (especially a lady) I will delete your post. Tell me also if you would invest in such a club? I have a few and may be doing a formal business proposal in the not too distant future.

I am considering buying a club. I think inflation is going to put one or more of the ones near recoleta in the shitter if it hits about 8-9peso to the dollar. If the market looks good here is my idea.

Have a club with significant entry fee with no free passes unless you are bringing business.

Normally priced drinks for you and the girl if you want to buy one for her (zero tolerance for chicas requesting you to buy drinks: fired on the spot)

Hot tubs in private areas for individuals and groups (towels and shorts available if you are afraid of letting the boys free)

Dance floor with ladies who actually want to dance with you and for you. If you want to dance you buy a dance ticket for reasonable amount and bam you dance with a lady you only dreamed of dancing with in years past.

If you want to take them out then fine. They clock out and whatever you negotiate is your business. No bar fee. No judgement. My only role is to assure their safety by providing security if they desire it. This they would pay small amount for if they wanted to (no pressure at all). They would have minimum number of hours they must actually work in the club with things as noted about and possibly some other activities that would be straight up legal.

Ladies talk to you because they are paid an hourly wage to be there and keep you there buying drinks, food, and entertainment so you wouldn't dream of going to some place that charges you 100p for beer. Playful interaction like you are a fucking king, but you must treat them with respect or you will be asked once to leave and then removed (seriously, the ladies should feel safe and this would be highest priority)

This would be a gentleman's club, not a place for drunk beligerant boys to come and start trouble. You break the rules you out with suspension of variable length.

Tips to ladies always welcomed.

1. Free financial training.

2. Free STD, prevention, pregnancy, and drug testing and evaluation (one rule any lady refusing to have appropriate testing or coming up positive on drug test is gone. Postive drug tests gets you mandated drug and alcohol program with one chance to return. No third chances no matter how good you are).

3. Benefits.

4. Bonus structure that includes education, English language training, Gym membership (if not on site-possibly private area and another area for viewing "exercise" something some guys are apparently into and I bet for some money some of the ladies will treadmill in a thong for tips.) , and possibly retirement savings plan (I don't know enough about customs and legal issues to really know how to do this.)

5. Free instructions on things like dancing, use of pole, alluring behaviors, body language, Geisha shit. And self defense.

6. Day care off site but close by so they don't need to worry about their kids. Legal assistance at reasonable rate to try to help them with custody issues.

7. Possibly buy nearby apartment building or sublet entire section of one at discount rate for ladies to stay with at cost deduction and amenities provided etc.

8. Choice to leave club completely up to them. Not required to do anything other than business activities sanctioned in the club.

9. All girls must be independent as they can't work for two bosses. Contractural relationship clearly seperating work in bar from that outside if they desire to do so. (no offence intended to anyone associated with the list here but they ladies I would hire would be of the caliber that they would not need anyone to help promote them.

10. Of course I would advertise on the AP list if allowed by admin.

Respectfully, you might lose money, big time. The significant entry fee will limit your number of customers. Normal drink prices, high fixed costs (for hot tubs, etc.) , no bar fees, paying the ladies an hourly wage plus very generous benefits (e.g., day care, subsidized apartments, education, retirement) -- it all adds up to costs in excess of revenues. If you're very wealthy and doing this as a hobby, then maybe it makes sense. Again, respectfully, there's no way I'd invest in such a club, and I'd expect anyone who did it with a profit motive would be foolish.

Your idea ignites a hundred questions, but I'll get things started with just a couple.

1. What kind of "significant entry fee" were you envisioning? $100 pesos? $200 pesos? By the hour? What about weekly, monthly, or annual memberships?

2. How much were you planning to pay these chicas by the hour? Perhaps better stated: How much do you think you'll have to pay to get the calibre of chicas you envision? Are you factoring in Argentina's 70% payroll burden, mandatory union dues paid by you, etc?

3. How much are "normally priced drinks"? For example, draft beer: 10 pesos? 20 pesos? 30 pesos?

4. I understand that the humanitarian side of you wants to be these chica's big brother. But seriously, day care, education, English language training, gym membership, and "financial training"? Shouldn't those needs be met by the chica herself in an exercise of personal responsibility?

Here's another way to think about it: If your business plan is to over-compensate your employees (at your investor's expense) , then why not simply pay them a higher salary and let them decide how to spend their own money?

And drug testing, what's that all about? If they want to do drugs in their private life, so what? Besides, the idea of finding a room full of chicas that doesn't indulge has me ROTFLMAO.

This sounds like a good way to lose several million USD. First of all, it is a non starter for a foreigner to become involved in anything resembling the prostitution business in Argentina. The prostitution business (meaning businesses making money off prostitution, not a girl charging a guy money for sex in a private setting) is illegal yet allowed because 99% of the prostitution business are owned / controlled by high ranking government officials (police, judges, municipal politicians) ; 100% of prostitution businesses are paying bribes to the police, city inspectors, and both. Second, attempting to legitimize the employment of what sounds like scores of girls will result in nothing more than huge monthly payroll / social security bills followed by a never ending string of severance pay lawsuits.

Another thing to consider is that at this point anyone considering investing ANY significant amount of money in Argentina should have his head examined; also, if you think this current situation is going to blow over in a year, think again. Investing ANY amount of USD in a country where it is essentially illegal to buy and send dollars out of the country is insanity. CFK and her band of neo-marxist ex-montoneros are in power until AT LEAST 2015 and it is very likely that CFK will attempt to change the constitution to allow unlimited re-election. This place is becoming fast like Venezuela, right up to the two tier exchange rate and soon to be empty supermarket shelves.

Actually I agree with much of what has been written. This is exactly what I wanted was smart people pointing out some obvious points and some others I did not know and will need to look into. Timing would have to be everything and the point about political issue is the biggest impedement to making any rational business plan (if there is one) because they could nationalize everything in a heart beat. On thing to clarify is that this business would have nothing to do with prostitution. What the ladies do on their own time, other than drugs, is there business. There are many reasons the drug thing would be a reason not to hire. First and foremost the business plan would be to allow those that want out to get out and to have a no drama and lower risk environment. I am not being prudish about drugs or one's personal choices but from a business standpoint drug use introduces many factors that the currently fragile to impossible developing plan could not overcome. Other issues of great concern are corruption many have told me about. Benefits for workers would have to be cafeteria style with limits. They would be able to chose to some limit based upon productivity. In fact, entire pay scale would have a productivity basis. You don't perform, you don't make anything and you leave. You perform and keep people in the club then your benefits increase. Many would not want to be there. Some, I believe, would. Reliable income with some sanity to hours, choices, and ability to have a place of thier own for them and in some cases their kids seems important.

Yes, I care about the ladies but am not looking to lose money and would need to find a business model that would work. Not sure it is possible but the comments so far are very helpful and I am not looking to do this tomorrow. Very preliminary.

If any of the ladies on the board are willing. PM me and tell me what you would expect to make in such a club per hour (assume no benefits at this point so we keep the playing field level. Benefits added as cafeteria plan would be backed out of salary.) Be realistic. Truly ask yourself what it would take to brink to this type club 35-45 hours a week.

To be honest and unless I am too distracted to understand your business model is based on:

A) Selling beautiful ladies company and conversation at an affordable hourly rate but not sex.

B) Selling decently priced food of more than average quality.

C) Selling "average" priced drinks to

D) Fine gentlemen of means who want to form a gentlemen club, abstaining from having intercourse with the ladies

In order to make a profit you want to:

1. Decrease the profit you would normally do selling booze.

2. Decrease the working hours of the escorts / courtesans / modern day geishas.

3. Increase the salaries trying to make their lives better.

4. Increase the social security benefits (giving medical services, probably contributing to their pensions, providing day care, etc.).

However in the road to make a decent profit you might find the following obstacles:

A) Investing in a foreign, third world, corrupt country that easily might expropiate your goods.

B) Compete against crooked (alleged) politicians, judges, etc. Who constitute your main competition via direct prostitution in brothels where your clientele could find the real deal at the same price you offer for a different service.

C) Assuming you could find enough gentlemen interested in this deal, have you considered the possibility of making lots of free enemies because your business might harm the wrong people's business? What if you are acused of human trafficking? Got good lawyers?

I hope my commentary is not considered rude but as I live in a similar country I am a bit familiar with what usually happens here and what might happen there.

To be honest your concept might work in Japan, UK or USA, especially in big cities, where there is affluent people who want to cure loneliness (I think this is what you intend to do in some way right?) but to be honest in cities like BSAS, México City or other similar ones you might have a limited market. Heck! even Geishas in Japan are disapearing! Also consider the economic situation worldwide, if a new recession comes at the end of the year or 2013-14 we might have to downsize big time!

Usually I try to encourage businessmen to follow their dreams but to put it in perspective if you were offering me to invest in such a concept the most probable is I would decline. I just don't see how it could make a profit and stay legal, sooner than later your rules would have to loosen. BTW have you noticed that sending girls to rehab for drugs and alcohol would be very human but would cause you to lose money because they couldn't drink with the clients, and therefore would have to quit the job?

I have been told that you need a class C license for a club and they have not issued one since 1974.

So you would have to buy an existing club and hope that the license carries over but I don't think it does.
