Can anyone comment on the Marriott and if its friendly to "visitors"?
I know the prices are very high! The large chains here have a similar pricing structure to what they get all over the world. You can do better financially. I beleive they are chica friendly but probably don't allow more than one visitor at a time. Search the board for better values and enviornment downtown.
I stay in the Marriott at San Martin Plaza very often. It is chica friendly. Just walk in with your kill like you are with a girlfriend and there is absolutely no problem. If the chica shows up solo, their ID will be checked prior to calling the room. Once their presence is confirmed, they are allowed to go to the room by themselves. The bed mattresses and coverings are all new and of top quality. This place is full of business people that mostly speak English. It is high priced relative to other BA hotels. The location is excellent for microcenter trolling and shopping on Florida.
