Santiago, Chile

My travel plan for this trip included 4 nights in Santiago Chile (SCL). I know the place from previous short visits over the last 10 years, although I'd not been back since 2008. My plan was to check out the top end nightclub scene, which is my normal hunting ground in Bs As.

This board is meant to be about Argentina, but I'm guessing this report might be of interest to some of you. SCL is only 2 hours from Bs As by plane, there are many flights every day and it's somewhere that AP members might be considering in a multi stop itinerary. Chile and Argentina may be neighbours but for me they are quite different in terms of the culture, people and attitudes. Chile is on an upswing (300, 000+ new jobs created last year, international acclaim after the miners' rescue, and talk of them achieving First World country status by the end of the decade, although by my reckoning they've got a long way to go yet). Argentina still seems mired in its economic problems and there's a lot of rivalry between the two countries. I would still pick Bs As over SCL any day as a place to hang out and for its range of mongering options (not to mention the cost differential) but the Chilean capital is worth a short visit if your budget can stretch.

I'd mentioned SCL in a post in the Black thread, and by pure co-incidence, Esten happened to be in town on the same dates. He PM'd me and we met up on the last two nights to sample the clubs. There are about 7 or 8 top end or middle range places (Platinum, New Champagne, Lucas Bar (x2) , Diosas, My Place and Passapoga are some of the names) – they are well spread out unlike Bs As and you need to factor in some longish taxi rides. Between us, we managed to check out most of these by the end of the trip. For manageability, I'll split this report into two sections (part one now, part two to follow).

DAY ONE.

Due to a cancelled flight, I didn't arrive in SCL until quite late. Took the TransVIP 'taxi colectivo' service from the airport for US $13 (their counter is in front of you on the left as you exit customs). It's a minibus that holds 6 – 7 people, you tell them where you're headed and they drop off the passengers individually en route. That compares with the US $40 I paid for a taxi on the way back to the airport, ordered from my hotel reception.

I stayed in the Bosque Norte area – it's a safe location and good place to chill out, with bars, restaurants, cambios, large supermarket and metro stop to the centre all close by. For mainstream nightlife, Flannery's and Pub-Licity are lively pubs with food menus and Liguria near the Tobalaba metro stop is a decent restaurant with extensive wine list and craft bottled beers. Places do close a lot earlier though than in Bs As, and the Chileans seem to be more 'stay at home' than the Argies. I tend to stay in aparthotels when in SCL – these are run like hotels, bookable through the net, with daily maid service etc, but you get your own self-catering apartment or studio and they are usually chica friendly. If you stay in a normal hotel, watch out for them adding a small guest charge to your bill, each time you've brought a girl back or called one in.

Around 2am, I headed for Platinum Club in Vitacura. This is the number one top end club in SCL, with prices to match. They have 80 – 90 chicas on their books, from all over South America. Plenty of them are Chilean but in the past, I've found the visiting foreign girls are often a better option – they are less likely to be clock-watchers as they tend not to have family or other commitments. The joint itself is upscale, and located in the basement of a mall. At the entrance, you're directed to a lift where you're taken down to the club reception area. Inside, there's plenty of room to move around or sit down, and they put on a choreographed stage show at around 2am featuring some of the hottest chicas who work at the club. It's open until 5am Fri-Sat, and 4am other nights. Best to get there around 11:30 to midnight for the top pick of the girls. Pricing is steep. At the reception, you pay 30, 000 Chilean pesos (CLP) to get in, which includes your first drink. That's close to US $60. For spirits, you name your brand and they give you a generous measure. Subsequent drinks cost 20k CLP. A chica drink costs 25k CLP (or 29k CLP if you happen to pick one of the girls who take part in the stage show – they are all available to take out, unlike the top clubs in Bs As). The chicas get a small commission on the drinks. You have to buy two drinks to take a girl out, and on top of that is a 'bar fine' of 50k CLP, which goes to the house. The chica's own fee is negotiable and payable direct to her. The chica drinks are cumulative, meaning that you can buy her one drink, look around elsewhere and then come back to her later for a second – both will count towards her exit fee. A ball park figure for chica prices here is 150k CLP (time negotiable). Some will quote you 200k CLP but don't agree to pay this. I've managed 100k CLP on one or two occasions but the timing needs to be right.

Chica standard was pretty high on this trip. Plenty of 8s, a few 9s. At 2am, I saw about 30 girls up for grabs, with about 20 guys mostly sitting around the stage area. A downside is the VIP area upstairs (entry costs 160k CLP for a bottle of champagne). When the VIP is busy, as it was soon after I arrived, the best chicas are waved through to this zone. There's a rule that means the girls aren't supposed to approach you for 15 mins after you've arrived, but they'll come over sooner if you make strong eye contact. After that, they will come up and try their luck. You get about 5 – 10 mins to chat before a waiter asks if you'll buy the lady a drink. Say no and she'll melt away. I sat at the bar and let the girls come onto me (quite a number of them did so) , but by the time I was ready, the best ones had already been taken and I decided to pass and come back the following night.

DAY TWO.

This time I arrived shortly after 1am. Almost immediately, I locked onto a beautiful brunette in a black minidress, who came over to me with a big smile. She'd recognised me from two years back, although I didn't remember her until she told me her name. I'd bought her a drink on my last night of that visit, but hadn't taken it further as my budget was running low. This time round, she looked twice as hot, hence my lack of recognition! The chicas here all have stage names. Some like to stick with these, but others (like this girl) are quite happy giving their real name straight from the off.

Natalia (stage name Alison) is a Chilean in her mid twenties, for me an 8. 5 going on 9, a little on the short side for my personal taste but great figure and very pretty face. I wasted no time and took her off to one of the seated areas around the edge of the club overlooking the stage. I told her that I was in no rush to leave and she stretched out the 2 chica drinks until 3am (read on for the significance of this). Natalia was super friendly and gave out lots of good information – most of this I already knew but I wanted an update. The club has a number of uptight rules resulting in fines (multas) for the chicas if they break them. Kissing a guy on the mouth in the club is a 90k CLP multa. Touching the guy too intimately (or letting him touch you too close) is another multa. I have been kissed and touched in this club before now, but the girl has only done it when she's been sure that the waiters weren't looking. The chicas have to arrive by 11:30 pm. Before 3am, they are required to return or face a 50k CLP multa. The time interval for returns is a generous 3 hours, although this figure will shrink as you head up to the 3am watermark. After that time, no return necessary. A few of the best looking girls are paid extra to dance in the stage show, and others earn a small amount for taking turns to dance on the podiums. Natalia is one of those who is eligible to dance on the podium. A drink for a podium dancer is the normal 25k CLP. For family reasons, this particular chica does a 2 hour commute from SCL to another city every night (!) , so a long outing with her was not going to be on the cards. She was very good company though and I offered her 150k, which she accepted straight off.

Back at the aparthotel (straight past the night security guard who didn't blink) , Natalia soon changed into a fantasy outfit (including the black thigh-length leather-look boots she uses for her podium act). Ask up front in the club if you want this service. She kept the boots on throughout the proceedings – awesome! This girl is a very sweet mover and likes to show off her body. I let her demonstrate her lap-dancing skills in a no holds barred bump and grind session on the sofa. More teasing followed in the bedroom. This had a tall wall-mounted mirror and she liked using this as a prop, kissing her own reflection, rubbing her boobs against the glass and touching herself, making it look like there were two identical twins in the room with me! Next phase was on the bed as I gave her a sensual massage with body lotion, face down first. After quite a few minutes of this, I turned her over and carried on kissing / caressing her body all the way down. Natalia liked having her breasts massaged and she lay there sighing as I gently fingered her nipples and down below. She was letting me lead the session but I was concentrating so much on her that the time went by very quickly and the remainder of the action was a bit too rushed. I got a reminder from her about the clock time, and although she extended it a little extra and made sure I climaxed (explosively, in front of the mirror) , she made it clear that she had to leave to catch her long distance bus home. She did suggest though that we hook up the following night away from the club, for the same money but 'mucho mas tiempo'. I would have gone for this but I couldn't do the following night, she wasn't free the night after that (she only works Tues – Fri) and my schedule didn't allow a longer stay. This has to be the way to go with these Platinum girls – use the visit to the club as a loss leader, get their phone number and meet up another day elsewhere.

Total outlay. 30k (admission) + 50k (2 chica drinks) + 50k (bar fine) + 150k (chica) , taxi tip optional, total an eye watering 280k CLP. That's less than I'd pay in Spain for an equivalent top level club chica, but double what I'd pay in Bs As Madahos or Hippo.

Chica = Natalia / Alison. Category = fantasy girl & fun company. L / A/S Rating = 8. 5/9. 5/7. Total time with chica about 3hrs 15 mins (2 hrs of that in the club).

If you've put up with me thus far, my next SCL report (days 3 & 4) will cover what happened when Esten and I checked out My Place, Champagne and the two Lucas Bars.

Here is Part Two of my report about top end mongering in Santiago (SCL). Part One covered the first two days of my trip – here's what happened on the final two days.

DAY 3.

During the afternoon, I had some things to do in the centro, and afterwards took a quick look at some of the 'cafes con piernas'. These are very much a Santiago thing. One opened up in Bs As several years back (Pelvi's) but I don't think it caught on. The cafes are small, dimly lit joints with darkened windows, aimed at passing trade. You go in, pay at the counter for a coffee and are then served by a scantily clad girl, normally standing behind a raised bar. When I first came to SCL, the chicas were mainly dressed in miniskirts (hence the 'con piernas' theme) and some were decidedly hot. Now they mostly wear skimpy underwear or bikinis. Although there's a lot more on show, the scene has gone down-market a bit and it's harder to find attractive girls. Chilean women seem to be less image-conscious than their Argentine cousins, look after their bodies less well, and tend to have a sweet tooth, and you can see some of the results of that in places like these. Typically, the customer spends a few minutes chatting to the girl and then moves on. However, there are cafes where you can get a HJ in the back of the bar or even a BBBJ in a side room. I've never tried that, but I did once negotiate to meet up with one of these girls after hours (a lot of the cafes close around 9pm). I gave her my number and asked her to call me later in the evening, which she did. Took her out somewhere and then back to the hotel for unrushed sex, for about US $100. This was quite a while ago. I didn't see anyone to tempt me on this trip, but I had other plans for later in any case.

Esten and I had agreed to meet up that evening and the first place we tried was a chica bar called My Place in the Providencia district. We took a quick look but didn't stay. I think the chica drink prices here were 6k CLP. It caters for daytime trade (there was a chica shift change due around 9pm). Possibly weekdays only as it was closed when we went by on the Saturday. Looked ok inside but just a handful of not very appealing chicas and hardly any guys – saw nothing there to ring my bell.

We then headed for Suecia street, a heavily touted area with bars & restaurants. This is one of the noisiest nightlife areas of SCL but I noticed that a number of the places were closed and boarded up. After eating, we checked out the smaller of the two Lucas bars, in Gral Holley street nearby. We were allowed to take a good look around inside without parting with any cash. There wasn't much doing here either, half a dozen or so 5s and 6s who greeted us in a friendly way. One of them said that the place only gets going later in the night when the normal bars start to empty.

Around 11:30, we hit Platinum, with the firm plan of moving on to another club later unless we saw something special. Most of the girls were free, again plenty of 8s and the odd 9. The chica I went with on Day Two (Natalia) was there and came over for a friendly chat. We hung around checking out the girls and then headed off around 2am to Champagne Club, a long taxi ride up the Avenida Vitacura. I'd checked at Platinum that they would let us back in later without charge if we decided to return later. Champagne was for me a disappointment, although Esten found a nice looking Peruana. This place (and the Members Club nearby, now closed) were the clubs I used to visit when I first came to SCL and the standard then was high. On this occasion, there were only a dozen or so chicas and very few guys. 30k CLP to get in (including first drink) , chica drink prices a little cheaper than Platinum but similar 50k CLP bar fine to exit, plus two chica drinks. Not a completely wasted visit for me as I ran into someone (another Natalia) who I had taken out a few times around 8 or 9 years back! She'd just turned 30 even then and I wasn't tempted to repeat, but still the same good onda and as one of the few non-clockwatching Chileans I've been with, I was happy to buy her a drink and swap some memories. We once did a threesome with a blonde Paraguayan dancer at the club. That girl has long moved on but she still features as one of the chicks in the promotional video that plays on the screen by the bar! Natalia told me that the club is now owned by the same guy that runs Platinum. The rot set in a few years back when the place was closed and then re-opened a while later, by which time the best girls had all moved to Platinum.

Close on 4pm, I went back to Platinum. I was interested to see if I got any offers to meet up after the club had closed. This worked for me on previous trips although the arrangement needs to be made discreetly. I did indeed receive such an offer, but I didn't fancy the girl enough and the best ones had all been taken by then.

DAY 4.

Esten and I headed for the other (bigger and better) Lucas Bar in Av Vitacura, Las Condes. It's located in a centro commercial (shopping centre) with red neon signwriting which you can spot from the Avenida. I think we paid 20k CLP to get in (incl drink). Slightly different pricing regime here. To take a girl out, you can buy two small chica drinks (at 20k CLP each) or a double (at 30k CLP). Bar fine though is a breathtaking 70k CLP. We remonstrated about this at the door when we asked about the club prices ('mas caro que Platinum! ') , but the guy made it clear this was a no holds barred place, touching and kissing permitted etc. We'd arrived around 11:30 pm and the ratio / chica quality was very good, bearing in mind this was a Saturday. About 20 – 30 chicas free and hardly any guys. The girls were taking it in turns to perform on the round central dance floor area. Esten soon homed in on the best looking chica in the club, a Colombiana, a smoking hot 9 in my book, although she turned out not to be a great provider. I'd seen plenty of other do-able girls as I took a walk around, and decided to take my time while the odds were so favourable. The first chica that propositioned me offered pricing as follows: 100k CLP for an hour in a side room at the club itself. 150k CLP for 1. 5 hours take-out, or 200k CLP for 2. 5 hours take-out. This was obviously the gringo pricing and better deals were on offer later with negotiation. Having a wingman on hand was a clear advantage as we were able to pool our information and establish the going rate. Sometime around 01:30 am, the club started filling up with Chileans. One of the chicas told me that on Saturdays they head for the normal discotecas first, then finish up in Lucas Bar!

After auditioning some of the hotter chicas, I went for Korin (pronounced like the French name Corinne, with a long 'I'). A brunette Peruana in her mid twenties, very calm and laid back personality, a solid 8. Good onda from the word go – I opted for the two small drinks at 20k CLP each for a longer get-to-know period. As co-incidence would have it, Korin had worked at Madahos and Black for 4 months before coming to SCL a few weeks earlier. This is not such an unusual thing – back in Bs As, I had met chicas who had done the reverse. Madahos must have trained her well, because this turned out to be the best outing of my Bs As / SCL trip. I have had good times with Peruanas before in SCL top end clubs – they are often smart girls making money on the side to pursue business qualifications. This one didn't disappoint. I offered 100k CLP for 1. 5 hours take-out, plus taxi tip, which she accepted straight off. I ended up getting 2. 5 hours with her in my apartment. We left the club shortly after 3am. Quiet and demure in the taxi, she morphed into a sex goddess when I got her back, changing into a turquoise skin tight microdress which she modelled for me in the mirror. Body massage, CBJ and DATY led on to unhurried sex in several different positions before a hardcore COB finish. Korin liked to be fucked hard and I was happy to oblige, at one point dislodging the headboard of the solid double bed in our own version of the Chilean earthquake. Walked her to a taxi at 5:30 am, and gave her an additional service tip (unsolicited) which she was delighted with. For AP mongers who might remember her, she has a tattoo of a ladybird above her left butt cheek. Korin was keen to meet up another day away from the club, but I'd run out of time in SCL.

Total outlay: 20k CLP (admission & drink) + 40k CLP (two chica drinks) + 70k CLP (bar fine) + 100k CLP (chica) , plus optional taxi / service tips & waiter tip. Total = 230k CLP.

Chica = Korin. Category = top service provider with GFE personality. L / A/S rating = 8/9/9. Total time spent with chica 3. 5 hours (incl 1 hour in the club).

VERDICT.

These numbers are not for the faint hearted, but as I can only make it to Latin America once or at most twice a year on short visits, and monger on a selective basis, I'm willing to splash the cash. The key thing to bear in mind is that you're paying for a full night's entertainment with attractive company in an upscale venue, not just the sex itself. For no frills sex without the overheads and outlay, for sure there are other cheaper options in SCL.

Overall I would say Platinum is still the #1 club in Santiago. But for chica quality and selection, Lucas Bar (the good one on Vitacura) is highly competitive with Platinum. I hooked up a little too quick with that Colombian hottie in Lucas Bar (Paulina) and didn't get to enjoy the club enough. But she was too hot and I knew I would have regrets if I waited and someone else took her first. As I mentioned her service was somewhat below average. She said she was a lingerie model in Colombia, she seems better suited for that line of work than escorting.

My costs at Lucas Bar were 20.000 (entry incl. my drink), 110.000 (her 30.000 double drink, 70.000 to club and 10.000 waiter tip), 100.000 (Paulina). Total of 230.000 CLP, or 480 USD.

Cost at Champagne Club was the exact same total 230.000 CLP. Breakdown just slightly different for entry and drinks but same cost for the chica 100.000 (Fiorella from Peru). Fiorella was excellent. Aside from her, I'd have to otherwise agree with Lucas that Champagne did not impress too much this trip.

Yes these are crazy sums by BA standards, and makes the BA clubs all the better value. But those of us who like high end clubs like Madahos, enjoy checking out what's available in other cities from time to time. And Santiago is certainly one city with some very good high end clubs.

At the other end of the spectrum, the day after my disappointing chica from Lucas Bar, I stopped in a 'Cafe con Piernas' and ended up getting a BBBJTC in the basement for 25.000 (about $50 USD). She wasn't a looker, but friendly and enthusiastic. I don't think that's available in all of these cafes, but apparently it is in some.

Every time I read about SCL I want to go back but I do very rarely. Its for me not a city I would enjoy to live (eventhough snow is just 2 hour away, but I go skiing in Europe every year) but pretty good to go from Wednesday untill Sunday to have a break from BA

The street numbers 766-802 correspond to a U-shaped walkway full of these cafes (ie. there are 2 entrances to the walkway). The cafe I went to was near the further entrance (nearer Av. Esmeralda). The cafe is #11 which you can see in the photo, and is across from Cine Apolo. The area is a bit sleazy and you might find the special treatment at the other cafes there as well. Report back if you go. Not sure about the english don't count on it.

You are a legend with directions, I found the spot you talked about no problems, and yes you are right, the place is dodgy indeed, so anyone venturing here should ensure they are street smart.

I managed to get an enthusiastic CBJ and FS in a small room at the back from an "ok" looking Chica (nice boobs though) all for 25K pesos.

Next stop Bs' A's and I am looking for someone to show me around, lack of spanish on my part was certainly a handicap but I managed to make my way around.

If anyone of you mongers is willing to show a newby around, I will be pleased, I'm in B'sA's from this Friday till next Wed.

If paying for sex in Chile, find a foreign girl (Colombian, Argentine, etc). Prices much higher, and the service worse in Chile than anyplace I've been including Costa Rica, and only a very small step better than the US, which isn't saying much.

I would save my money and spend much less on ladies that are 5x better in several countries down here. Good luck and let us know how Chile works out, if you have to go for some other reason.

I went to Santiago de Chile twice, as part of my hobby to visit more latin countries. Now that I got the experience, it is doubtful I would return anytime soon.

However, if money is no object, it has expensive but very good high end clubs, including what I still consider the best nightclub I've been to in the world, Platinum (slightly edging out Le Palace in Panama). Loaded with elegantly dressed 9's. The hottest ones were mostly from other countries though, Colombia, Brasil, Argentina. They come to work at the Chile clubs for the $$$$$.

Damn, I should have re-read my last post from 2013 before I decided the place was back on my bucket list. Oh well, here is my complete report from December 2016.

First off, I decided to mix the trip with mongering and meeting up with civvies. Well, a lot of that did not work out. I wasn't feeling my best the entire trip as well.

Logistics:

Flight:

I flew AA round trip from San Diego for $1500 and some change. 3 hours to Dallas and another 9 hours to Santiago.

Logging:

I rented a 2-bedroom apartment in a good location, in Bellas Artes. I rented through Airbnb. I paid 80 bucks a night. The place was rather small, but it suited my basic needs.

Money:

The currency in Chile is pesos. The rate was about 1 US dollar to 673 pesos. I just figured that 1000 pesos was $1. 50,10,000 was $15.00 and so forth. I cashed in $100 US at the airport and got a shitty rate of 641 to 1. No passport needed.

But in the city, on Agustinas, between Bandera & Morande, there were several camibo places with different rates. I found a couple that had 670 to 1 rate; so I cashed in there. No passport needed.

I brought almost new $50 notes, but two were marked by a pen. Those notes were declined, but the place next door took the bills.

Duty Free:

There was a Duty Free at the airport, but I did not have to use the service.

Communication:

I have the T-Mobile North American plan. My plan gave me unlimited data at 2 G speed, calls at 20 cents per minute and free texts. Thus, I started using WhatsApp on my regular phone. I started chatting with my Airbnb host before I left. As long as I had a WiFi signal, WhatsApp was free of charge. I was chatting on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Skype; including video calls for no charge whatsoever.

Transportation:

From the airport, I used a regular taxi; 20 K pesos. Because I was leaving Christmas night, I tried to arrange advance transportation, but no one seem to have drivers available. This made me a tad nervous, but I remember reading a TR that stated Uber was in Santiago. Yes, the power of TRs!

So I brought up Uber on my phone, and low and behold, there were some drivers in my area. The driver I had was nervous about being discovered at the airport. When he let me off, we hugged each other like we were best friends. The cost was about half of a regular taxi. And hell, I got a free hug to boot!

Spanish school:

I attended Escuela Newen for two classes a day, Monday through Friday, for one week. I paid for 10 classes, which came out to be just over 17 US per class. Escuela Newen also took my Visa card for the payment.

Food:

The food was good, but could not hold a candle to Lima. I ate and drank at a butt-load of restaurants:
El Diabilto good.
Mambolda tapas sucked, did I mentioned it sucked?
San Remo good.
Fusion Holandesa good late night food.
El Rapido great fast food the Barros Luco!
Bar National really good Chilean dishes.
Juan why Medio. Really good Chilean dishes.
La Piojera great bar and a very good pig leg.

The Women:

Because the trip was to focus on Spanish, I contacted a few women on Latin American Cupid. The ones I contacted had no English speaking skills. This does take time and a lot of effort. All the Latin American Cupid girls were flakes and we never hooked up. I also had some hits on Tinder, but the 3 girls I chatted with wanted at least 150 US for an hour; fuck that.

Caf Con Piernas (Coffee with legs) - There are three types:

Type 1: They are respectful cafes with doors open and transparent windows. The women all wear short skirts or tight fitting clothing; pretty fucking boring to say the least. The women looked hot, but I want to touch them dammit! Examples of these cafes are Haiti and Caribe.

Type 2: These places have their windows covered. The girls either wear lingerie or bathing suites. The girls are good looking and nice to practice Spanish with, but nothing sexual will happen.

I found a bunch of these types in one area, in the Galeria Santiago, Av. Libertor Bernardo 949-969. They were all on the bottom floor:

Type 3: BINGO! These places also have their windows covered; and for a damn good reason; SEX! I found over 20 of these places just walking around the city. The ones I went into, about 12 in total, the lady drink cost 2 K. Some had beer, but most did not. OK, so you buy on drink for the chica, and the heavy petting begins. Once you buy the second drink, sex is offered and prices varied in the cafes. But, 40 K seemed to be the going price at most of the places. I was very surprised how good looking the women were in these places.

Here is one of my experience at #26 no name caf. I was walking around this 5/6 floor shopping center (there were 5 in that mall), more like a strip mall, and when I was walking by one of the places with windows blacked out, the door opened slightly and a hand reached out and beckoned me to enter; I just had to go inside.

It was kind of dark inside and music was playing. The place was small. There were 3 other girls in the place. The girl that grabbed me was pretty. I always drink screwdrivers when I travel, and always with the house vodka; Smirnoff. However, most of the clubs used Absolute.

NOTE: The girls are all business, my guess it is because of house or union rules. If they do not have a drink in front of them, they bail! In many of the places, I turned down buying a drink for a girl, but sure as shit, the next girl came to try to sell her game.

All the clubs in Bellas Artes seemed to have the same menu, as if they were part of some damn union, but the prices varied between the women. Each club required you buy an expensive drink, kind of like an exit fee to the room / VIP area. And none of them had a cover charge.

Conclusion:

I found Santiago boring, dirty, and expensive. There were a lot of places to monger; but with over the top pricing. It's a huge tourist city with way too many gringos as far as I'm concerned. If you want to travel that far south, I would recommend Buenos Aires instead. Having said that, I have no regrets. I enjoyed romping through the city, and had some good food to boot.

Would I recommend the city to other mongers; NO!
