I will NEVER go to Thailand. That I'm sure of. I love BA as much or more for the city than the chicas. I'm beginning to fall more in love with the city and it's people day by day. The architecture, the way of life, the spirit of the people here is amazing. I think it's actually good there was the financial crash. It's bringing people to a certain type of reality about their country.

I've discovered new things about the city. I've ventured off to other parts of the city than Recoleta. Palermo, and Belgrano are two beautiful parts of the city. There are so many other parts that I am going to visit.

Now that I'm here I will probably start posting less and less. I wish you all the best of luck and a happy holidays.

Try the following sites for apartments: www.buenosairesapartments.com and www.alojargentina.com . I can't vouch for them as I found them recommended from a site called www.virtualtourist.com . This site has alot of fluff, but a few gems of info here and there. Note: it's not a monger site so play nice these pc people (Politically Correct people for those of you not familiar with US acronyms). I'll bet Saint's friend Mayri at Argentinago.com could help you too!

I found these sites while researching for my first trip to BA. If I remember reading correctly you're going to be out there in February. I'm also trying to visit BA in mid February 2003, but am be having some personal problems. Thus I may need to postpone my trip -damn! Anyway I'm hoping that you and I don't share the same taste in apartments or I may be sorry I gave up these addresses prior to booking my own pad! Just kidding!

I thought a few of these apartments really look cool, but I'm not familiar with the neighborhoods - re: safety at night, availability of taxis (especially at night), proximity of shops and restaurants, proximity to the various bars this site frequents and quality of the neighborhoods. Anyone have any details on the following barios: Puerto Madero, Palermo, Belgrano and/or Hollywood?

Also has anyone found a decent online map of BA and Mar del Plata? I'm looking for both a street level detail map as well as a map with major streets and neighborhoods. Most I've found have been scanned at low resolution so that the street names are not legible. Or they're a street level detail map of a specific section of a neighborhood. ...Too close, leaving me lost relative to other neighborhoods or landmarks. OK, enough whining from me. Happy hunting! ... Apartment hunting that is!

First off, I enjoy reading your posts as I'm sure many others do. Your joie de vivre is infectious. I'm fascinated by the great reports from BA. But I feel like I'm missing something. I have been in BA in '96 and '99 but not to monger. I enjoyed the great steaks, italian food, the ambience of the city and the charms of a nonprofessonal that I met at a tango class. And I speak a decent amount of spanish but I never considered it in the same league as Thailand or the Philippines
In places like Pattaya, you are surrounded by sex workers, massage parlors and beer bars. Most of the girls are friendly and few display a professional attitude. I always have a lot of laughs with the girls and thoroughly myself. The prices are very reasonable by American standards and there is an atmosphere of "joyous amorality" to quote the NY Times. This combination of sheer availability and good fun is heady stuff and makes the long trip worthwhile.
BA on the other hand, sounds a lot like NYC. The escort service routine sounds the same, complete with haggling over price and minute/hours involved. It doesn't sound like you can get a girl to hang with you for a day/week/month, like in Asia.
On the asian boards, there is much discussion about caucasian men falling love with Thai women. Many of the girls are very sweet and it is easy to do. Does the same hold true for the portenos?
What is the great attraction of BA: is it the Argentine culture or the physicality of the women or something else that turns you on.

No time for long posts today. Had a VERY busy day. Been on the go since 9 AM. Non-stop. I just extended my trip until January 18th!!!! I'm here a whole month. I don't ever want to go back to the USA.

Exchange rate today is 3.41 to $1 US. Temperature is in the low 80's today with a nice breeze and sunny.

Spent most of the day with Mayri of www.argentinago.com. She is a GREAT friend. She helped me with a ton of stuff today including getting my 2nd apartment. Oh my God. This apartment is luxury. As luxurious as any apartment on Park Avenue in NYC. I'm amazed! It is a one bedroom two bathroom apartment in Recoleta. It's NOT cheap but I think I will rent it out to American companies that send their executives here on business. I've made so many contacts here since I started coming here. I meet people pretty easily.

I'll also mention that I told Mayri to start charging for her services. Now she is booking tickets for air travel and not charging a fee even though she has to take a taxi to downtown and sit in an office and wait to get tickets. I went with her and easily waited 35 minutes. Time is money..Oh well..i hope she listens to me.

Getting my visa from the Brazillian embassy was a hassle. They are very rude for the most part and I feel lucky to have gotten my visa today since they are only open 1/2 a day tomorrow and closed Thursday. I'm gonna extend my Rio trip now to spend a few more days with my amigos. 11 days in Rio and 19 days in Buenos Aires. Life is truly good.

Met Moondog in Cafe Orleans to say goodbye to him. A great guy. I called American Airlines when I got back and they said they could change my ticket but for the difference in price. They wanted $1200 US!!! Before I left they wanted $2700 US!!! What gives???? I remembered passing an AA office here in BA so I took a taxi there and saw a hottie. I started talking to her and explaining my love for the city and my need to stay longer. It took some convincing but she changed my ticket for $200 US!!! I love BA. I recommend if you want to change your itinerary do NOT call the US #. Call AA here in BA or stop at their local office near Florida Street. Their local # is 4318-1111.

I am soooo loving life right now. Did I mention that? I'm the luckiest dawg in the world. No doubt about it. I have a date in a few hours with a hottie.

P.S. It was funny because both Moondog and the other guy, Mr. L. asked if the girl last night was my girlfriend. Report, 2nd issue

Yesterday night, after a hectic day full of visits and re-encounters and having flown in a plane full of crying babies adn families returning home for the holidays, I should have called it a day but I didn't. The inner drive to meet the old places was strong enough to go out.

By midnight, I headed towards Pueyrredon Affair. I was charged $10 for the entrance fee. I got surprised when I saw 20+ guys and 12 girls, unusual for a Sunday night. Later, a girl told me that the place will be closed tomorrow (due to Chistmas eve), so guys and girls were partying for the "lost Tuesday night". Go figure...

First of all...apologies to Jackson for not being able to hook up last night. My little Christmas party went longer than expected at the restaurant with Moondog and the other guests. It was such a good time. Even though I only had met Adrianna (the webmaster) of Platynum.com and Escorts-argentina.com she was like a dear friend. I mentioned it before. She is a wonderful person.

Moondog is exactly as I imagined. A class act and a true gentleman. I had a good time spending time with him, his date, my date, Adrianna, another guy from the board and his date, Sandy.

So if you don't see something you like at one you can get something brought from another. But we were all happy with our meals. The other guy (I can't remember his screen name) was cool too. He couldn't speak Spanish though. Moondog also doesn't speak Spanish but as everyone knows...that doesn't slow him down any. Ha, ha.

Dinner was excellent! The staff was excellent. I knew Moondog had serious "pull" at this restuarant when I saw a line at least half a block long waiting to get into this place (which is a lot for a Sunday night -- typically a slower night). Moondog walked in and in a few minutes was waving us to by-pass the line. We had an excellent time. The girls couldn't believe none of us guys had met eachother before. They were amazed. Mine kept telling me we were all interacting like a group of dear friends. I replied in Spanish we were now.

Sandy looked gorgeous as ever. Moondog's girl was pretty too. Adrianna was her charming, happy-go-lucky self. I plan on taking her out to dinner when I get back from Brazil. Moondog had the good idea to get the girls gifts for Christmas. He told me Adrianna liked chocolates.

I had to rush home and shower and by the time I got out my girl was at my door. She opened her gift and was touched I would buy her a present. She melted..... That's the thing with these girls. If you're a good guy and they can see it you'll get a different sort of treatment. Off we went to meet Moondog and crew.

After dinner we came back to my place. I planned on going to the clubs with Jackson but by this point it was 12:30 PM. I had a session with my girl and we said our goodbyes. She was headed to Mar Del Plata in the morning. I gave her money and she didn't want it but I told her to take it for her trip. She quickly agreed...LOL.

Life is so wonderful. I can't even begin to tell you guys that have never been here what it's like. I woke up at 8 AM today to a beautiful day. I have so many things to do today. Re: Prueyrredon Affaire

Jackson and I went to Prueyrredon Affaire a few weeks ago. I was a bit disappointed although Jackson thought it was worth a second visit.

It's a place for locals and the chicas are a bit below average, a bit old and trampy for my tastes but then I like the a younger GND ="girl next door" look, like the kind of chicas I find in Madahos and Blacks. The club has rooms upstairs and the price is 15 pesos entrance and abougt 80 pesos for an hour. There is also a take out price, although I didn't ask what it was since there was no one I wanted to take out.

One interesting aspect is that all the girls wear mini-skirts and sit on the bar stools, with their knees on the seats and elbows on the bar, sticking their asses up for inspections, like one of those sexy calendar shots. It's really a great site to see - a row of bar stools with six nice asses on view and worth going for that alone.

I felt that the other affair, Affaire Recoleta, has a far better selection of chicas depending on the evening; that is, it's hit or miss...but I found some real hot chicas there.

Anyway if you do go to the other Affaire on Pueyrredon I'm curious about your opinion. I'm also interested in any reports on brothels and apartment brothels, as that's an area that hasn't been covered that much in the forum and of course, any little gems like Nuevo Estilo Boliche.

- I am a native porteño, so language is NOT an issue.

Arrived today at early morning, while it was pouring. Met friends and relatives and, after a hectic morning-mid afternoon social schedule, I decided to try my possible appointment with Oriana, from Area-Vip

The address is Ciudad de la Paz 1043 (Ciudad de la Paz St and Cespedes St) in Belgrano. ar$6 for a cab from Recoleta.

- If you go to an apartment, go with small bills. Chances are that they won't return change (as happened to me).

I hope to see some bars tonight but just to study the scene, perhaps Pueyrredon Affaire and Salomé (I have to run many errands tomorrow since Tuesday and Wednesday many public institutions will be closed). Sunday night is usually dead but... who knows?

Hola amigos. (Hey Ezy!). Today is Sunday. It has been raining since last night. It was neat though with the view. I was watching it lightning after a marathon session with my girl from Madaho's. We watched it rain and lightning till 5:30 AM this morning. I walked her down and had trouble flagging a taxi. I got drenched but it was worth it.

Wow. Must not be too many Americans in BA now. I guess Jackson and I are doing all of the mongering for the "group". Ha, ha. Jackson doesn't post much but we've been having a good time. We start talking and he's a great guy. I invite him to go out with Jackson and I. We all go to one of the outskirt clubs. Man, very very different scene there. We also went to the further away Affaire. Something that I never heard anyone mention is there are 15 rooms above that Affaire that you can take the chica to if you don't want to go back to your hotel room. (I'm not into that but hey......do your own thing).

Our new friend, Mr. C. liked the places he was seeing. It was my first time at 2 of the places Jackson took us to. Different and worth going back to. Mr. C. wanted to hit a disco so we dropped him off at Buenos Aires News. Man oh man there were tons of hottie chicks outside waiting to get in. That place looked interesting. The taxi driver told me there were working girls to be had there. But plain and simply the girl preferred local clientele. I think the price there was fixed. The place was packed so she was probably thinking why sleep with this American dude when I can sleep with tons of others I'm attracted to more. Oh well. Saint, are you talking about the Disco that is next door to Shampoo? I went to that one a few times. The address is Quintana 366. Another Disco is located at Talcahuano 1055. Checkout lines move slow in Disco. If you want any fruits and vegetables you better be lucky or patient. Each Disco store has one person in the back weighing and pricing produce. Most of the time there were long lines of women waiting to get their produce priced.

Saint, since you like convenience, check into their delivery service. On several occasionis, I saw Diso employees pushing carts filled with stacked plastic crates carrying 10-20 orders. Most of the time, the orders were stacked over the employee's head and he was having trouble seeing where he was going. I saw this at both Disco stores I shopped at.

I was wondering if you could tell us a little bit about what you do you in BA in order to have an apartment. I am thinking in living in BA from March-July. There is a place in Barrio Norte (Purreydon? and Arenales) that charge me 1100 pesos a month. The place is more like the size of an American Studio and is kind of a Hotel/apart-ments. What I like about it is that is month to month, not deposit or leasing contract, utilities to be pay etc...

My questions for you if you don't mind are: Did you have to commit to a year lease? Also was there a first and last month plus deposit required? I just hate the hassle of dealing with that in a foreign country.

How much do you think is a fair price to rent a nice furnished apartment in the Barrio Norte/Recoleta area?

How about a little update on the AREA_VIP girls, just for reference. Can't make up my mind which one to choose when I get there in Feb.Hope you have a great time, guess you won't be their to show me the ropes in Feb. Oh well I guess I'll find Jackson.
