"Public" privados are to be avoided nowadays. I've been out too long so now I don't know about any "secret" privados.

Avoid Paran 704, a former hotel that now is a bunch of privados. Very much like Maip 388, but terrible service.

Prices... Yes, fares start at 6k but soon might be at 8k. Sorry if I can't help you as much as when this forum was much more informative!
