You have to bring your own as far as I know .

    Specially in the summer .

But you can always check out the Internet and ask the concierge at a premium hotel .

Ask a taxi driver where the privados are .

    Good Luck,

    TL.

    Bariloche / Ski

I recently returned to Bariloche to hit the slopes and do a little souvenir hunting. The sking was good all though the snow was so-so. While from mid mountain and up the snow was good, on the lower half their where more then a few brown spots and even a few mine fields (areas where the rocks poked through). The lifts were great with several new ones added in the past few years along with the first and only six packer in S. America. Lift tickets were $650p (less then $50 U$D at current exchange rates) and rentals were from $250p and up. I found it cheaper to rent then to pay the airlines a $100 U$D each way for my ski bag. I was able to rent brand new demo skis for $450 a day and even changed one pair at mid day free of charge. The trails were good, The sights were great and the weather held for the length of my visit. The mid lodges tended to fill up fast but the two on top didn't crowd up until after 1pm.

The town is very tourist oriented with plenty of dining and shopping opportunitys. Prices in general seemed to be CHEAPER then in B.A.. Hotel pricing being the exception. There were enough people hawking "Cambio" to make one feel they were walking down Calle Florida! When I asked they were offering 14 which was 50c less then what I got in B.A. The week before. The lake was beautiful and I am going to try to make it back this summer to do some sailing / exploring. As for hobbying.... I didn't see or notice anything but then at my age after a day on the slopes and a beer with dinner I was ready to sack out by 10pm so I could hit the slopes again early the next morning. So I did not bother to explore any oppotunities that might have been there. A great place to visit if you get a chance.

Whats the best time to depart from BA to bariloche if you want to wake up when the moutains are about to start?

  10. #22

    I'd gladly

Swap a few days of 8-9 chicas for a few days of 8-9 ski runs (as long as I could pop a couple 4-5s and some Malbec in the evenings).

Last night (Saturday) I visited Whiskeria Caribe and Petro B Bar. Both places open at midnight. Whiskeria was very dark, hardly you could see anything, and the chicas were 5-7. I really liked Petro be bar, not as many chicas as in the other place, but they were better. Here the barkeeper also speaks English, it can come very handy if you are Spanish challenged.
