I noticed Delta will resume flight in December. That's a couple hundred more mongers per day!

It's good news, really. Argentina is too nice of a country to have 60+% poverty.

The number of posts in this forum have grown exponentially since '01! Sure there's more competition for goods, but seems to be easily absorbed by supply. Prices are still around half of '00 prices/ US dollar -- and the dollar is weak!

I cannot wait to visit and cannot wait to meet Jackson one day. He has directly/indirectly saved/cost me money in at least 20 states and 12 countries! The least I can do is buy dinner from him once.

Well I have seen a lot more for example Australians in the clubs. I ran into two in Nuevo Estilo and a group of four in Catto's just in the last week. However in NEB these two guys were talking about whether they could get these "chicks" to come back to their hotel for free. Not. Also they spoke no Spanish.

It has not put me off going there again however the scene seems to be not as good as it used to be. Nostalgia just ain't as good as it used to be .

My understanding from reading the contributions from others is that things have definitely changed. It has not put me off going there (I am in the process of planning my trip). I am not a hard core monger and I do like good quality. As Saint and Daddy have said, there is a premium for quality and I, for one, am willing to pay for it. It is just not sex but something more than that - an experience. Of course, one can never say at the outset that the quality of service will match the price but that is the luck of the draw. You can get bad service at any price. You can get good service at any price. I will even go further and say that the fixed price 150 pesos regime is not good for anyone as it does not differentiate anything. I will pay more for a beautiful, well dressed and elegant looking girl even if the sex is average. Its just the experience. The next day, I may prefer something else. Whatever takes my mood.

It is a truism that if the economy is good, the prices will be higher. The evidence for this is all over the world.

Two Weeks in BA

A summary of two wonderful weeks in BA.

Day 1

I arrive in BA on a Saturday after an all night flight from Bogota, Colombia on Avianca. By the way, I don’t recommend Avianca for overnight flights, the plane that I was on was quite old, the entertainment system didn’t work at all, the seats were so worn that one could actually feel the metal frame in the seat, and this was in Business Class! I can only imagine what coach felt like.

Upon arrival I had an experience that I have never had in all of my international travels…once I cleared customs in BA I went to a local ATM to take out cash, and the damn machine took my card and would not return it. Needless to say that this left me in a slight predicament. Fortunately I have multiple checking accounts that I care ATM cards for and I was able to use another card during the rest of my stay. So beware, caring one card is a risky proposition.

After making it to my hotel (Intercontinental in BA) I checked in and went to bed to get some rest after a very long night. It sounds like everyone has voiced their opinions well.

Tito Otto makes a great observation that I have thought about but not voiced. After going to BA a number of times over a number of years, I find waves of different feelings each time I go. Sometimes I am frustrated due to lack of unlimited funds/ below par Spanish/ too much work to do/ difficult choices. Other times I am on cloud nine, with a favorita, a new discovery, a new experience, giving a good service in return. And other times sad, that I cannot stay longer, cannot help some more. One thing remains constant, when I am not there, I want to be there, even if just for a few days.

As for the newbie, I think the place will blow your mind, especially with the help of this board. And I love reading the new experiences. I love reading all the experiences actually. The newbie can experience every level he wants, from Dollys to Black, Websites to Clarin, The Street to the Disco. It's your choice and this site provides the insight.

Speaking of Old and New, someone told me Hippoptamus is open again, (just down from Newport). You remind me of the guy who has been living in the city most all of his life, and suddenly “discovers” a small mountain town and decides to move there. Now everybody else is called a “flatlander,” and soon he becomes in favor of no more growth, as this is his private town now, and too many others will ruin it for the “locals.”

I wrote my BA Guide and keep it updated to help the new guy get around in BA for the first time. The emphasis is on the high points such as the clubs in Recoleta, the triangle, and the cafes. A few others are thrown in as well. It gives the new guy a good start on where to go and what to expect, who to contact for apartments and arrangements, and nothing more. You do not have to worry about the guide giving out your secrets of filthy apartments and dive establishments to meet budget girls. Yes you can meet the same girl in a brothel downtown and pay a token amount to get your rocks off, but that is not for everybody. Let the new guy go to the more established clubs first and get a feel for the city, then later he will venture out and find other attractions, and maybe even find another $ar50 girl for you.

The reason the website of www.escorts-argentina.com is promoted is because of the integrity of the owners, and it is the only one that is 100% wysiwyg. www.platynum.com.ar is also mentioned because it is owned by the same people. Some of the other websites are mentioned, but not promoted.

Overpaying in other ways? Let’s see, maybe these qualify:

Buying a washer/dryer combination to help my girl and her kid, and also buying a round trip plane ticket so that she does not have to hold her kid on her lap for 21 hours on the bus to go visit her family.
How about paying nursing school tuition to help out a very special friend who is making a tremendous change in her life for the better? These are definitely more than the insane price of $100 U.S., so I hope these examples do not offend you too much.

Lexton, you do not have to “cringe,” as most of the “flatlanders” who will be coming to “your town,” will not be taking over the small, dingy apartments anytime soon. You can have those all to yourself.

Field report 20 Sept

Had a great dinner with Roxanna, as everybody else says She is a wonderful Companion. I would recomend Her without reservation for tours or setting appointments.
