Hi Guys,

These are some notes I had of a visit to Argentina at 4th August 2004.

Day 1. I arrive from London. Mayra had arranged a airport pickup for me.

While I was there I stayed at Loi suites in Recolate. Mayra arranged the accommodation. While staying there I had no trouble with the girls coming up to my room. Reception would just phone the room when my guests arrive, I would ask them to send my guest up, and away we go.
One day I went to Café Orleans. I picked up Sandra (see photos). Cost was 200 peso for one hour and a bit. (I think I could of got 150 if I had tried harder). Sarmiento 1828 #1A 4372-0738. 30 pesos half hour, 40 the hour, 10 more for completo which ain't gonna happen. Called to make sure they were open and was told 3 chicas were available. Madam (Ailen) asked where I was from and I acted offended and said I was 100% Porteño.

Anyway it is about 9 blocks from my crib so I strolled over there. The building is old and run down and there is no central heat and the elevator is tiny. But the apartment is clean. My first 2 days in Buenos Aires have been much better than expected-this is a fantasyland.

Almost had to cancel this trip due to job issues but at the last minute decided, WTF and screw the job, and did this trip. Glad I did.

Hola amigos. I just wanted to let everyone know I finally got my travel agency up and running. Some guys were surprised I didn't tell them I own a travel agency. I kind of wanted to wait until things got more organized. (My webpage still is being updated and I know corrections need to be made with the translation so if you find a mistake please email/PM me). I have really made an effort to help the individual traveler with information about Buenos Aires over the past 2.5 years. I have met several of you in person over the years and I think most would agree that I am a straight shooter that tells it like it is, I go out of my way to help in any way possible and I'm trustworthy. I leased apartments for almost two years and that gave me a lot of experience.

I felt there was a real need for a US style travel agency that is more organized and customer service oriented. Many people in the business here.. once you contact them you don't hear back for days, if at all. My staff has negotiated some of the lowest rates for hotels and apartments. Not only that but my company actually has a storefront office with employees that speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Italian. In two weeks we will have a US phone number that you can call to make reservations or if you have questions. Our customers can make FREE calls to the USA and use free high speed internet in our office. We will also allow our clients to make and receive faxes free to the USA.

We are a registered official travel agency with the city of Buenos Aires and we pay taxes. (Sometimes I wish we didn't because you are penalized here for doing things legitimately). I won't pretend I know much about the travel agency business. I have traveled relentlessly around the world the past 3 years but I've never worked in a travel agency. However, I do know what is important to me when I travel and it's essential that I work with someone I can trust. We hired travel agents that actually have a tourism degree from the Univeristy.

I will also have my apartment websites (www.apartmentsba.com & www.rentinba.com) up soon where I will offer my apartments that I purchased as well as other apartments in nice areas. So far, I'm already up to about 10 properties that I will offer and that list will probably grow rapidly once I have the site up. I have also been approached to manage other properties.

I have met some good guys the past few weeks. I don't go out too much now because I've been crazy busy getting all of these things organized. HobbyinHouston was just in my office yesterday picking up a ticket he bought to Bariloche. He didn't book his hotel through me because he didn't know I had this. He commented it was nice to do business with someone he can trust and not only that but he like's doing business with someone he knows. I think that principle would apply to most things in life.

I would like to thank Jackson who I ran into last night. It was good seeing him again after a long time. He not only gave me permission to advertise my services but encouraged me to do so. I hope to help many of you that are looking for hotel rooms, apartments, tours, flights in and around Argentina and neighboring countries, and a whole lot more. Good luck all.

Good point here. Roxana is a tour guide and booking service, NOT an agency with a stable of girls she controls. I don't have any horizontal experience with MC, but have met her several times as part of dinner parties, etc.

Vaquero, the Glaciers National Park in Calafate is the most awesome
thing I have ever seen in my life. I went in early April and weather was great.
Lago Argentina is the most beautiful lake in the world; you will not believe what you see. Mendoza and the High Andes trip would be my second choice for a sidetrip.

Did any of you Norteamericanos catch the 60 Minutes Wednesday program on
Robert Duvall last night? Duvall is in "his favorite city in the world", Buenos
