Here is a year's worth of observation on holidays in Argentina. It seems like whenever there is a holiday on the weekend, it automatically extends to Monday for a "largo fin de semana". Sunday was Father's Day so naturally everything also closes on Monday! I also understand that today (Monday) may be the official "Flag Day". Long weekends seems to happen about every 6 weeks or so and can be disruptive to plans and vacations for gringos. Whenever clothing, jewelry or shoe stores are closed (and there is one on every block!) you know it is a holiday and you have limited options.
