Marini - Ave. Sta. Fe 3666

Had lunch here yesterday. Quality and fresheness of food was good as compared to the less upscale tenedor libre's scattered all over the city. Only setback is there is a queue everytime you want something. Average queue time is five minutes as they prepare the dish on the spot. It did'nt help that I went on the busiest time and day of the week - a Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon. I was in the restaurant for like two hours but was only able to sample the sushi and the lomo con salsa de Malbec. There was a very well presented appetizer and dessert section (no queue here)

Moral of the story: Never go to the "prepared as you order dishes" type of tenedor libres on a weekend.

    Buffets / tenador libres

1- Gourmet Portenos 1900 Alicia de Justo, Puerto Madero.

    2-Mariani's 3666 Santa Fe.

3-Cocina why Cia 2461 Santa Fe.

These are up to par or better than the buffet at the Mirage in Las Vegas.
