I think your difference with Dickhead is based on a semantic distinction in the definition of "pussy". It's a perishable commodity like an airline seat or a hotel room. That's on a daily (or nightly) basis. Long-term it certainly depreciates in value but it has no cost basis so depreciation doesn't quite apply. Depreciation is a process of allocating the cost of a long lived asset to all the time periods in which it is used to produce revenue and there is no cost to allocate. That's an accounting perspective. An economic perspective is that depreciation is the loss in resale value over a given period of time and again does not apply since pussy cannot be sold (legally or morally, anyway) You could say that the depreciation is the reduction in the present value of the future earning stream, though, and in that case I might agree with you. This is just a quick report on my very short visit to BA last month. I had intended to stay for three weeks but an emergency back home forced me to curtail my visit after a week - so apologies to the various people I contacted with plans for a hook-up whom I let down. Fortunately or unfortunately, I already have a master's in business administration, primary concentration in accounting, secondary concentration in economics. Also my undergrad has a minor in economics. I originally intended to major as an undergrad in econ but switched to history due to a lot of cancelled economics classes. It could be said that I am a closet economist, or a frustrated economist. One of the best courses I ever took in my long and undistinguished career as a professional student was a 600 level course in Managerial Economics. One of the best text books I ever saw. Damned if I remember the author but it should be required reading for all mongers with an IQ of 125-130 or better. No extensive math background required; the dude explained it as he went along.

My master's thesis was allegedly in accounting, but really involved the economic impact of changing accounting rules. It wasn't particularly good.

I didn't know where to post this. I thought this was a logical place since it has wide readership. For some time there has been a discussion of price, and we who live here feel that those who don't often pay too much. This doesn't benefit them, and doesn't benefit us. And in my opinion, it doesn't really even benefit the chicas because they then live in la-la land and wait for a higher offer instead of using their pussy more exhaustively to obtain more total revenue.

We need to review basic economics, first. Maximum revenue is obtained by pricing where marginal revenue equals marginal cost and marginal cost is rising. But maximum revenue is not maximum profit, and a smart chica will seek maximum profit, not maximum revenue. The problem is that maximum revenue tends to be reached at the same level of unit sales as maximum profit, if a lot of the cost structure is fixed costs and not variable costs.

So what cost structure does a hooker face? Largely variable (fucking two guys costs her twice as much) or largely fixed (expenses are the same on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis no matter how many guys she fucks)?

Well, a privado's costs are largely fixed: rent, payoffs to cops, and advertising. Variable costs appear low: condoms, paper towels, and laundering the sheets after every guest. Ha ha. They don't launder the sheets after every guest so put that back under fixed costs.

Now look at the revenue side. The privado takes 50-60% of the revenue and gives 40-50% to the chica. So, the privado is there regardless, the chica is there regardless, and the monger should have considerable pricing power. I have verified this: on innumerable occasions I have said "Demasiado" (too much) to the quoted price, and have started walking towards the door. On no occasion have I made it to the door without the price going down.

Now let's look at clubs. What is their price structure? Rent, payoffs to the cops, 40 pesos per shift to doormen and waiters ... yup, again largely fixed costs. Marginal costs are virtually non-existent, and where they are they are producing a substantial marginal profit; i.e, selling overpriced drinks. Now look at the chica. If she wants to leave because she is bored, she must pay a bar fine of one drink. Let's say 35 pesos. So that is a sunk cost. As soon as she walks in the door she is on the hook for this; it can never be recovered except by fucking some citizen.

However, an additional factor is at play here: Latina pride. You must understand this. Latin pride will always trump economic theory and in fact even common sense. If this were not true, Spain would never have lost its colonial empire. If you distill down the history, they didn't understand that continuing to extract and repatriate more precious metals would only expand the money supply and be inflationary, instead of adding to total wealth.

The chicas don't understand this history, but they have a similar lack of understanding of basic economics. So, they don't realize their pussy is a perishable commodity that will lose its entire value at closing time. But, on some level they understand branding. Branding means you are one of the "best" chicas in the place and you are not going to give your pussy away for "chump change" because then you would lower yourself in the eyes of your fellow hookers, the management, the waiters, and whoever else might be involved.

Therefore, to obtain excellent pricing, you must frame your offer in a way to protect their pride. Now, and importantly, you must stick to XX and never go to XXX. If in fact you are willing to go to XXX you must go with Latin Plan B:
