True, and I have wondered about that myself and I even talked to Pancho, the owner of Catto's about it. His answer was quite simple. "I'm not involved in anything and no one knows me". The president of El Alameda has his own agenda. Which is most certainly political. My guess is that maybe not for the 2015 elections but for the one after we will find him either forming a party of his own or having a more or less prominent position in one of the existing parties. The triangle clubs are unknown to the general public but Black or Madaho's etc are as good as household names. Boycotting them or closing them makes a splash in the news. Closing Sens wouldn't make prime time news. Plus the fact that many of the Black or Madaho's clients are either prominent local businessmen or politicians. Harassing them is a calculated risk or arm-wrestle. But if they were to retaliate it would put them in a bad position in the public view especially now when the whole drugs issue is hot (that's why the change to NARCO-brothels). One of the more polemic Federal Judges, Zaffaroni, has been accused of owning at least 19 privados. Hitting privados belonging (or not belonging) to him can make a huge difference when you need a Federal Judge on your side (or against you). Lots and LOTS of filthy politics involved and has been since the times of Zwi Migdal. Or even long before!

Not too surprising, with the trend in that area, and especially Hippo being right in the middle of the nightlife traffic. I'm sure the city doesn't want tourists seeing all the "couples" exiting the club together. Maybe they'll find another location?

It has nothing to do with the City or even the National government. The ONG Alameda has been hunting down slave labor and white trade. When they couldn't prove that the girls working at these clubs were either forced into prostitution or that there were under-aged girls there they changed their song. Now the clubs are "narco-brothels". This constant harassment has made doing business a pain in the ass plus the fact that the authorities are finally forced to do something about the clubs and privados because of public opinion. Representatives of El Alameda are guests on most talk-shows on TV and can be very convincing for the general public. The daughter of Black's owner was her father's main accuser.

Hit Hippo last night. Thought I would just have a look, but knew once I went in, I would be putting myself in the path of temptation. One of the crazier nights I have had there.

Went in around 11:30 pm, it was still a bit early. About 40 chicas and 10 guys. Over the next hour it filled up to about 70 chicas and 25 guys. Almost packed at one point. No entry fee but had to buy one drink, 300 pesos. I made it last 3 hours. The first hour, half a dozen chicas took turns approaching me and chatting. Actually I approached the first one since I recognized her from last year. She gave me some good info, and tried to latch on but she was the first of many I would say "I'll think about it" and moved on. I got quotes of $200, 2000 pesos and a couple 1500 pesos. The chica quality was very good, not quite the best I have ever seen it though. Most 7-8 range and a couple dozen 8+. As usual, some of the hottest were dancers. BBM joined me and we both checked out the scene, and enjoyed a table dance with two hot chicks, though they danced on the floor right in front of us (which worked well as it allowed some touching). Later I saw dancers giving dances to guys standing at the bar, with some contact grinding. The dances last about 5 minutes and you tip what you like, we gave 50 pesos per chica and they seemed happy with it.

I was told one chica drink (500 pesos) is good for all night (per chica). It seems they no longer have a rule about the chica having to return. Not deterred just yet, I brought up pricing and she wanted 2000 pesos, saying the time was not important (which probably means 1-2 hours). Guess I pushed the limits and she had no tolerance. I get it - Hippo is the top club, she probably thinks she is one of the better chicas, and she knows I'm a gringo tourist which is what this place is largely geared to. Maybe I should have recognized all this and agreed on 1500 p for one hour, but I was drifting this evening. As I told the Argentino next to me later, no problemo!

But then one chica said she'd go for 800 pesos for 2 hours if I bought her a drink. I'll call her "K". K was definitely not a hottie, maybe a 7. Many girls and only difference to before is that the dancers have shorts and not bikinis.

If you have shitloads of money and want to spend it on a Vegas style place this is your place. For me I think it sucks and it is way to much money to spend, but we all chose over poison. Compared to black this place is much better and they do have many hot girls, but it won't come cheep.

Live here full time. Establish your own stable of chicas. Keep well clear of pimps, real pimps or friendly friends or co-mongers who act like pimps. Keep clear of places like Hippo or even places like Newport.

Most importantly. Do not introduce them to other Gringos because soon as you do that..you will have a over paying Gringo trying to establish himself over her by trying to piss money on her and creating "Golden pussy" syndrome. And of course, watch out for your friendly friends who act like pimps.

And for god's sake..speak spanish if you live here! Spanish will take you a long long way in terms of prices.
