Thanks for the info. "Single man's Disney Land" - yeah, I think I could learn to live with that. Argentina is next on my list of countries to visit prior to retiring. Everything I've read make it seem like it should be on the top of the list. What may put it on the top is that it's relatively inexpensive right now - who knows how long that will last.

The last place I visited, the Phillippines, seems like there would be many quality of life issues. Ok, it looks like a toilet compared to more developed countries. But the young (< 25) non-pros there want nothing more than to marry an American and get a green card. People kept wanting me to meet their cousin.

To answer your question. Robert Duvall the actor maintains a residence in Buenos Aires. I even think he has a big ranch out in the country some where. Also he's into Tango big time.

The old geaser is 73 years old. His common law wife, of I believe 7 years, is in her middle 30's. When he finally met the Chica's parents he found them to be 20 years younger than himself.

They'll be on you like flies on shit. Of course, you need to learn Spanish, although that's not a 100% requirement. My advice would be to visit first for a couple of months before you commit to anything. There are plenty of inexpensive destinations around the world where your romantic prospects would be similar. Off the top of my head, Budapest, Krakow, and several of the Pacific island countries spring to mind.

This isn't a mongering question, but I figure you might know the answer just from living in BA and keeping your eyes open. I'm retiring early (at 52) next year and am shopping for a country to move to. Ready availability of pussy (pro and non-pro) is one of my prime requirements. BA obviously has the pros. Can you make any generalizations about how common it is for a ageing American with decent spanish skills and income to hook up for a long term relationship with a young non-pro? Yep, I mean that dating & love thing.
