Although La Lopez is certainly in the top 3 or 5 of the Recoleta clubs, the quality of the chicas was just 'OK' when I was there. I was able to get find chicas for 300 in the Recoleta clubs in August but they were real quickies. When I pay the 400 or 500, at least the two I found on this trip so far (caveats emphasized) are a little more relaxed. They say two hours but it is really 75 to 90 minutes. Fo 300 pesos they are out the apartment in thirty minutes. Also for the 300 I was not able to get BBBJ or anal.

The tall dark haired bartender's name is Monica. Her husband is one of the floor guys. Monica is a great person and makes sure you know what you are getting before you buy. If you need a recommendation for a chica, she can usually hook you up with what you want.

Indirectly, perhaps. The largest portion of the clientele of these places are not foreign tourists, but Argentine businessmen. Their biggest nights are Monday through Thursday, weekends being much slower when husbands typically don't have the "working late at the office/taking the new client out for dinner" excuse. Weeknights are for carousing, weekends for la familia.

La Lopez celebrated it's one year anniversary on Thursday night. A free drink to invitees, the chicas were all dressed in ball gown type party dresses, gold balloons, great light show and later a live band. By midnight the place was packed and for the most part everyone was hanging out enjoying a good looking party.

Of course the chica drink prices were in effect, 70 pesos to 140 pesos, and the chicas were "available". The leap in drink prices for chicas is a recent and unfortunate leap towards Black pricing. This is THE best club scene in BsAs currently IMHO. They've really created a plush atmosphere, everything clean and in good working order, the staff is universally friendly and seem to be more about service and attention to customers than pushing for drinks. The woman who bartends will serve you a cortado and likely not charge, and she's more than once made sure I knew the price of the drink a chica wanted to order before going forward with making and serving it. Oh yes, and the chica selection can be stellar and there are always some new faces.

The basement price on chicas is 300 pesos. I've never found one that would go under. A lamentable situation but I guess it goes with the new territory of comparative pricing as if they were living somewhere else. Fortunately there's plenty of grist for the mill outside the major clubs so you can enjoy the atmosphere here and take something home from elsewhere.

It is still nice and low pressure, and Bobby is a great host (and also speaks perfect English) And there are still lots of very beautiful girls, though for some reason it was a little dead at about 12:30am on a Friday. It seems to get more expensive every time I come down. We paid 45 pesos for entrance, which includes a drink, so that's 5 pesos more than last June.

She used to work for Black and said that she quit because of the pressure there to hard sell customers expensive drinks. I heard a similar story from another girl in this same club in June, and turns out (of course) this one knows the other one, who, by the way, has since gone back to work at Black.

I explained to her that I was just window shopping and basically tired of going to expensive clubs and picking up expensive women without really knowing ahead of time if I was going to be in for a good experience or a bad one.
